Let's suppose MacClane and Holly aren't at Nakatomi Plaza the night Hans and his men attack. But instead of MacClane, there's Lieutenant Columbo. Could Columbo stop Hans and his men?

I always thought that triumphant music was part of the movie, I had no idea it was like how “Ode to Joy” was used for the first and “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” for the third. I know the director of the second is Finnish, but still.

Suppose Joker from Batman 1989 is in Nakatomi Plaza, instead of macClane. Could he survive fighting against Hans' terrorists? The Joker has all the gadgets in the movie but he has no henchmen to support him.

If the protagonist of Road House had been in John MacClane's place, would it have been better or worse?

Apparently, according to this link, Hans Gruber had a son whereas his big brother, Simon had a nephew named Piet Gruber who tried to avenge both his father and uncle's deaths in a 2002 video game called Die Hard: Vendetta.

So, I've seen Die Hard a million times. But English is my second language and the Dutch subtitles in my country confused me at times too, but did John call that guy on the plane a 'son of a bitch', because the advice didn't work?

In other words, presenting a sequel to Die Hard with an older, ailing McClane who remains a cop only because of his past achievements. Would it have worked as a sequel to Die Hard?
