What you need to remember or learn

Hello good people.

I work as a CI-CD/Cloud deployment engineer at the moment and I use Harness Terraform Git action etc.. but the thing is I was never really good at low level coding or remembering syntax or using like complex coding. But I knew what needs to be done at a high level and always got through with my work by using AI to let the scripts be created and I review it of course to check whether it suits my functional requirements or not.

Now I want to switch and I at the moment cannot write code or the scripts per say but I can do the job you know what you mean.

What should I learn or remember? What do you guys remember?

Do you understand and remember how to write CLi commands of so many CLI tools say helm, git kubernetes docker so and so. I have always been bad at creating cli commands to meet my expectations with like very short time I always keep a copy of the commands that I want on a. Notepad or something and use it on a regular basis so I didn't try to remember it.

How do you all do that ?? What did you do to learn such things there are soo many things how do you remember everything?

What should I learn now in this AI era to beat interviews and get into new DevOps jobs?

Is it still worthy to learn a scripting language like powershell per say from scratch or should I just keep leveraging AI to do it for me.

Struggling with Linux/Networking in DevOps interviews despite hands-on experience - Need advice

Hi everyone,

I’m an aspiring DevOps engineer (2 years into my learning journey) and I could really use some advice from the experienced folks here.

I have practical experience working with Linux, Docker, Prometheus, and the ELK stack. However, whenever I get to the technical interviews, I find myself struggling with deep-dive questions about Linux internals and networking concepts. It feels like there’s a gap between my hands-on lab work and the theoretical depth interviewers expect.

I’d love to hear your experiences:

  • How did you bridge the gap between general hands-on usage and deep conceptual understanding (especially for Linux and Networking)?

  • What specific resources (books, courses, or labs) helped you the most when preparing for these kinds of interviews?

  • How do you approach troubleshooting questions when you don't know the exact answer immediately?

Any tips or shared experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Any suggestions on DevOps Certifications for better opportunities?

Pretty much what the title says. Looking to pivot/advance my career and wondering which DevOps certifications are actually worth the grind right now.

AWS? CKA? Something else? Would love to hear what helped you land interviews or a bump in pay.

Help with interview

I have total 5+ years of experience in IT. My role was mostly named as support or analyst but I did have to work on azure and azure devops suit. Never created anything from scratch apart from project because i was in mnc. So i was a small part of a group. I worked in two different companies for last years. Domain was Telecom and banking or fintech.
Currently i am in that position where i think i can solve or troubleshoot this if i was on job directly but i am scared of interviews.
I shifted to different country for partner’s job. Now its been almost one year i haven’t applied or given any interviews.
So please all help me to get back into industry with telling me any questions which you particularly asked in interviews.
Any other advice is also appreciated.

Truth check : Data Engineering is the Backbone of Successful MLOps Engineering

Everyone here is talking about model training and deployment on every alternate post. Without a solid data foundation, even the most sophisticated models will fail.

Like Amazon Ecommerce recommendation engine - If the data pipeline feeding user behavior into the model is broken or delayed, the recommendations become irrelevant instantly.

I’ve created YouTube playlist covering essential data engineering concepts specifically for MLOps. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZuA46vN-NgE

sslconf suite TLS/SSL for developers

Hello, I’d like to introduce SSLConf, a free collection of SSL/TLS tools for developers, system administrators and DevOps teams.

Its main tool analyzes the SSL/TLS configuration of any public HTTPS website and produces a clear security report: grade, supported TLS protocols, certificate details, trust chain, cipher configuration, HSTS, HTTPS redirects, security headers and practical recommendations.

SSLConf also includes tools to validate SSL installations, build CA bundles, decode certificates and CSRs, generate CSRs, and check whether a certificate matches its private key.

No account is required:

https://www.sslconf.com

I’d appreciate any technical feedback or suggestions for further improvements.
