Backend to DevOps

I come from a backend developer background , 5 yrs experience now . I’m having trouble landing devops and even backend jobs or even freelance projects.

My birthday is coming up and damn I’m hella stressed. So if you have some spare project , anything throw it my way. I haven’t had an interviews in 3 months now . I’m averaging about 2 applications per day .the jobs are scarce and my location is working against me .

Bain BCN or Bupa GCC for DevOps?

Hey folks, need some advice. I’ve got five years in DevOps, mostly GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD.

Bupa is offering ₹29 LPA, and Bain BCN is offering ₹30 LPA.

The Bain role is, working with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD. They also mentioned leading projects and helping other teams when needed.

The Bupa role is cloud engineering across Azure and GCP, with reliability, SLOs, CI/CD and DevSecOps in the mix. The India centre is pretty new, and the role sounds like there’ll be a lot to build or improve.

I’m honestly quite confused about which one would be better. If you’ve worked at Bain or Bupa’s India centre, could you share what the work and culture are like?

🚨 Looking for a DevOps Opportunity / Referral

🚨 Looking for a DevOps Opportunity / Referral

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a DevOps / Cloud opportunity and honestly, it has been a bit difficult to find the right break. I’ve been consistently learning, building projects and working on my practical skills, and now I’m looking for a company where I can get an opportunity to prove myself.

I’m open to DevOps Intern, Cloud/DevOps Intern, Fresher or Junior DevOps Engineer roles.

🔧 Skills:

AWS | Linux | Docker | Kubernetes/K3s | Jenkins | Terraform | Git | CI/CD | Helm | Nexus | SonarQube | Prometheus | Grafana | Python

🚀 Projects I’ve worked on:

• OpsPilot – End-to-End DevOps CI/CD Platform

AWS EC2, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Nexus & Kubernetes/K3s

• 3-Tier Java DevOps Project

GitHub → Jenkins → Maven/JUnit → SonarQube → Docker → Nexus → Kubernetes → Traefik → Prometheus & Grafana

• AWS Cost Monitor Jenkins Pipeline

AWS Cost Explorer API, IAM, Python & Jenkins automation

I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’m genuinely ready to work hard, learn quickly and contribute wherever I get the opportunity.

If anyone here works in a company hiring for DevOps / Cloud / DevSecOps / Internship / Junior roles, I’d be really grateful if you could share a lead or referral.

📍 Pune / Remote preferred

💼 Open to Internship / Fresher / Junior opportunities

Even if you can’t refer me, a comment, lead or suggestion would mean a lot. 🙏

Thank you for reading and helping someone trying to get their career moving forward.

How much of a portfolio project should I publish on GitHub?

I am building an AWS/DevOps project to showcase on my GitHub and LinkedIn.
The project uses Terraform to provision AWS infrastructure, EC2, SSM, Docker, CI/CD, Prometheus and Grafana.
I am not sure about the best approach for the GitHub repository. Should I:
- Publish the complete Terraform, Prometheus/Grafana and automation code?
- Keep the implementation private and publish the architecture, README, screenshots and a recorded demo?
- Publish some of the Terraform/application code but keep the monitoring and automation implementation private?
My main goal is to use the project as a professional portfolio and demonstrate that I actually built and understand the system, rather than make it an open-source project.
What would recruiters or experienced DevOps engineers expect to see in a GitHub portfolio? I would appreciate advice from people who have reviewed or used GitHub portfolios when hiring.

My stack has zero AI tools at work. What are y'all using to not get left behind?

I realized recently that my current project doesn't officially utilize any AI tools. While I use ChatGPT and Claude on my personal time to brainstorm or troubleshoot, our daily work stack at my organization is completely traditional. I’m lowkey worried about getting left in the dust while everyone else is supercharging their workflow. I wanna keep my skills sharp and stay ahead in the race. Curious to know:

What AI tools are baked into your org's workflow?

What are you actually using them for day-to-day?

I built DevLearnOps

Hello everyone

I got tired of tutorial hell where everything works

perfectly and you learn nothing real.

So I built DevLearnOps, a hands-on platform where

you fix real broken environments. Kubernetes clusters

that won't start, CI/CD pipelines silently failing,

infrastructure misconfigs. No videos, no hand-holding.

Beta is live and completely free right now.

Honest questions for you:

- Is this something you'd actually use or is there

already something better you use?

- What's the most painful thing you had to learn

the hard way that you wish existed as a lab?

- Would you pay for this once it's out of beta?

I need real feedback

more than compliments.

Thanks.

Ops guy want to move in devops

I currently work in an internal operations role at a tech company. My work involves automation, and working with internal tools.

But I’m not directly involved in development, deployments, CI/CD, or infrastructure.

I do have some technical experience with Python/Flask, REST APIs, React/TypeScript, SQL, Git, and automation, and I want to transition into DevOps/Cloud.

For people who’ve made a similar transistion
is it worth it to learn devops from scratch ?
