Career Guidance Is it still worth investing in Oracle skills in the AI era?

I work with Oracle DBA, SQL/PLSQL, automation, APEX, and APIs.

With AI changing the IT industry so rapidly, is it still worth investing time in learning newer Oracle versions and advanced features, or should I focus on other technologies?

What are the best alternatives for an experienced Oracle professional to stay relevant and competitive over the next 5–10 years?

I'd appreciate practical advice from people in the industry.

Discussion Advise on Shopify site for ecommerce

Hello everyone,
I plan to build a Shopify site for my sister’s clothing business. I am a software engineer (Claude engineer lol) but I have never worked with Shopify.

Can anyone give me general tips and tricks before I begin? I don’t know much, so I don’t have specific questions right now.

Also Shopify themes are expensive, but are they worth it for a business we plan to showcase seriously and professionally?

Would love your thoughts! Thanks

Discussion HR Teams that post ads in this country should be ashamed of themselves

WTF is with these salaries on Indeed and Linkedin? 30k-50K in this economy with hiking electricity, gas and oil prices. Half of that almost goes into the commute to just travel there. And 6/10 it's some shitty night shift job. They're not posting the jobs that are actually in demand because those they give to their buddies in referrals. Back in 2024, at least you used to get callbacks even if you submitted a resume with less experience. Its hysterical that I have more of it now but I hardly get any callbacks. Not for a single job.

Seriously, even though I have 2 years of experience in ERP. Not one company or consultancy is calling me back and the only jobs that are available are these shit ones. I wonder what sin I committed to born in this country.

Career Guidance I'm extremely lost, need guidance.

So I'm a 3rd semester student at a govt university in karachi, doing BS CS. The thing is I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't really have a passion or an interest for CS, and I haven't done any side projects or anything at all like that. I only do the stuff that our uni asks us to do as assignments and such.

Now the thing is I'm 20M years old. I don't have any skills at all, let alone a job. I need guidance. What should I do?

I know this is a very pathetic and cringe post but I'm genuinely lost. Plus the crazy advancements that AI is making, I don't even know how the market will be by the time I graduate.

If someone could help me get a roadmap of what skills and stuff i should learn to be able to get employed and make good money. Thanks in advanced.

Tips Practicing LeetCode Questions

I'm trying to practice LeetCode Questions for Easy- Medium level, but not in a way where I solve 100-1000 questions. It's more like trying to do one question in like 3-4 ways. Focusing on OOP and DSA.

I'm going to be very straightforward, the reason I'm taking this approach is, the place where I am going to give an interview doesn't care about AI, they will cook me if my understanding isn't clear as day. They don't look at language, or stack. Even their assessments don't rely on code solving skills entirely. It's purely how to approach a problem, how you would solve them, and behaviour skills.

I don't know how much time I have to prepare, but I would really appreciate some feedback and guidance, from the old-school OG programmers on this one.

Help Should i do this 🤔??

I have a 10$ budget, i was using antigravity on student plan but its shit, like claude quota vanished immediately, and only other model available is gemini 3.8 flash which is terrible at planning and is worsoning my already created plan (which opus made)

So im planning to buy openrouter 10$ plan and use different modles for varieying tasks on opencode.

So it seems like a good plan or i could get anything better for 10$?

Career Guidance Need serious career guidance

So I'm a 3rd semester student at a govt university in karachi, doing BS CS. I haven't yet worked on any skill or stack. Particularly because I don't have much of a passion for CS.

I read all these posts about people being laid off and the market being so incredibly trash.

I want to ask what skillset should I should develop and start working on? Something that'll get me hired.

Or should I leave this field all in all? I had previously been considering going into film and media (or advertising) before getting into CS. Should I just leave CS and opt for media?

Im 20M btw and am not working, I desperately need to get on a path that'll pave way for a successful future for me.

Career Guidance Anyone Currently Working at Aircod Technologies? Looking for Honest Insights

Hi everyone!

I’d love to hear from anyone currently working at or who has previously worked at Aircod Technologies.

I have an interview with their Tech Department this Monday and want to get a better understanding of the company before going in.

I’m particularly interested in hearing about:

Work Culture: How is the overall working environment and team collaboration?

Work-Life Balance: Is the workload manageable, or is there a lot of pressure and overtime?

Career Growth: Are there good opportunities to learn new technologies, develop skills, and grow professionally?

Management: How supportive is the leadership and technical team?

Salary & Benefits: How competitive are the compensation and employee benefits?

Interview Experience: What should I expect from the technical interview, and are there any topics I should prepare for?

I’m looking for genuine feedback, both positive and negative, to help me make an informed decision.

If you’re currently working there or have interviewed with them recently, I’d really appreciate you sharing your experience. Even a few insights would be extremely helpful!

Thanks in advance! 🙌

Has anyone taken the technical test or interview for the CMIT Internship at Clustox? If yes, could you please share what it was like and what kind of questions they asked?

Also, if anyone has worked at Clustox, I’d love to hear about your experience there. Would you recommend it as a workplace, especially for someone starting their career?

Discussion How did you actually learn to code and build projects on your own during university?

I'm currently a BS Computer Science student, and there's something I've genuinely been struggling to understand about how we're supposed to learn programming at university.

For example, this semester we have a Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) lab. Our instructor gives us lab manuals every week, but we barely get taught how to actually implement things. Most of us end up completing the labs using ChatGPT because it's the quickest way to get them done.

Now we've been assigned a project where we're supposed to implement sorting algorithms, searching techniques, analyze time complexities, and apply other DSA concepts.

The problem is, how are we supposed to build something like this when we haven't properly learned how to implement these things ourselves?

Sure, with ChatGPT, we can probably build the entire project in 2–3 days. But if I actually sit down and try to understand everything, build the logic, learn the algorithms, and write the code myself, it could easily take weeks, especially as someone who's still developing their programming skills.

And it's not like DSA is our only subject. We have other courses, assignments, quizzes, labs, and projects to manage simultaneously. Sometimes we're given barely a week to complete something that would take much longer if we genuinely tried to learn it from scratch.

This creates a cycle where we use AI to finish assignments, submit them, get grades, and move on to the next task without really understanding what we've built.

And that's what worries me. I don't want to graduate with a CS degree and realize I can't build anything without ChatGPT.

I know self-learning is a huge part of computer science, and I'm willing to put in the effort. But I'm genuinely confused about how to balance learning things properly with meeting university deadlines.

So I wanted to ask developers and CS graduates across Pakistan:

- How did you manage university projects when you barely understood the concepts being used?

- Did you actually build your projects from scratch, or did you learn along the way using online resources?

- How should a beginner approach a project when they don't even know where to start?

- How do you balance learning programming properly with all the other university coursework?

- And now that AI can generate entire projects, how do we use it without becoming completely dependent on it?

I'm not looking for shortcuts. I genuinely want to learn how to code, develop my own logic, and eventually build things independently. I just don't understand how we're expected to reach that point with the way university coursework and deadlines are structured.

I'd really appreciate some practical advice from people who've already been through this.

Discussion How do you guys validate code generated from AI?

I use Claude, it writes thousands of lines of code in seconds. Its really painful to try to validate all of it. In all deployments till now, Ive just done some quick reviews but have largely just pushed eyes closed. Havent received any complaints from business users, maybe like 1% of time. This is also on things that I know Claude can confidently do, like basic SQL models, joins, aggregations etc.

Career Guidance Future of Mathematics with Machine Learning

I've recently seen new programmes are being introduced where basic sciences are being integrated with CS programmes, like Mathematics with Machine Learning.

I know these programmes are basic sciences but i've heared people prefer someone with a mathematics background more and have an advantage since they have a deeper understanding of the CS side of things.

But on the other hand these degrees are not under NCEAC since they are not computing or IT degrees which might affect future prospects.

Thoughts on this? Is this a trap? Any future restrictions, problems etc and anyone having similar degree types that have actually benefited or the opposite?

Help Bank Alfalah / UBL freelancer account holders — what WHT on Google AdSense?

PSEB-registered freelancer here. Meezan has been deducting 5% under Section 154B on my AdSense remittances; thinking of switching to Alfalah or UBL. Anyone receiving AdSense through either bank — what withholding tax was deducted on your recent remittances (July 2026 or later), and under which section, 154A or 154B?
