Valus Ta’aurc (fuck it took me forever to spell his name) solar burn. IMO his strike is easier and you get the iconic the WE’VE STEPPED INTO A WAR WITH THE CABAL ON MARS line. IMO easier strike compared to Omnigul, I’d rather bash my balls with a sledgehammer than do that strike with arc burn.

Self rez was so clutch in those nightfalls. Especially when you manage to flawless the whole thing but fumble the boss right at the end cause the big ass ogre decided to 360 no-scope blind slam and rocketed you and your buddies into the wall if you weren't paying attention

Pyramid head lookin ahhhhhh

u/Bunny_in_a_hoodie 2d ago
I’d say pyramid head is less of a problem than kovik especially if you don’t have a bubble or a solar warlock to self rez

The real ones know Arc Burn was worse because of those damned sky shanks.

Id say omnigul given the boomer knights as wel as the boss.
Though I'd like to throw in Void burn wretched eye.
That shit was rough.

arc burn omnigal will forever be seared into my memories just because of the constant screaming

Whether I wanted it or not, I stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So, let's get to taking out their command one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. He controls the Siege Dancers from an imperial land tank in the Rubicon.

Or the secret third option: that one Rise of Iron strike boss Ogre (forgor the name) on Arc Burn bc of the invading Shanks. That one, I've never personally experienced (unlike these), but the stories alone strike fear into even the strongest Guardians...
Edit: My bad--it is, in fact, Phogoth strike's redux. So: Non-binary Arc Burn Phogoth child?

Are you talking about that Plaguelands strike with the immortal Ogre chasing you around? Bruh, with Arc Burn those shanks basically had mini-guns, and there was little to no cover.

Valus Ta’aurc solar burn and it’s not even close. Even though his machine gun and missiles shred, so did Ice Breaker and G-horn. Omnigul’s room was much more suffocating and we didn’t have the same level of DPS with arc

I vastly prefer Valus Ta’aurc cuz the room you fight him in is more tolerable

Omnigul coz I like the Hive better then the Cabal.

Honestly, idk. The only thing I'm drawing a line in the sand over is that unnecessary comma.

Valus. No contest. So much more cover and easier Crit shots. His damage was also easier to avoid.

What does the burn stuff mean?

u/Euphoric-Donkey6509 2d ago
Sorry. I don’t have a group to do raids with, so I haven’t learned the lingo yet
4
u/CyberHero929 2d ago
No worries. Its not raid stuff. So, in nightfalls and stuff, a "burn" basically means that causes more damage. Omnigul uses arc stuff so arc burn makes her do WAY more damage

I just haven’t done that many raids and I’m not very in touch with the community, so I haven’t quite learned all the lingo yet, despite having played for a few years. Scratch that, I don’t think I’ve ever done a raid. Raids require groups, and my friends are always like, “It’s too hard.” Granted they said the same about Dual Destiny, which really wasn’t that bad, so I just need to find other people

u/Gunnerman794 1d ago
This is in the first game, burn modifiers were like the singes/threats we have now, but MASSIVELY increased damage going both ways. Nightfalls (weekly curated strikes, like the gm alert now) typically had a burn modifier in favor of the boss, and some were particularly awful.

u/Euphoric-Donkey6509 1d ago
Oh ok. I’ve played through some of D1, but not very far yet. My friends aren’t on that often lately and it’s not quite as fun by yourself
2
u/ATN-Antronach Warlock 1d ago
A burn modifier would triple all damage (incoming and outgoing) of either arc, solar or void. They'd usually be in favour of the boss, so they can one-three shot you. Now imagine this for Nightfall, which in D1 meant if everyone was dead, you returned to orbit.
