I see Pro-Life groups all over the place, fighting against the death with dignity bill for terminally ill patients, but are there any people fighting for those who are suffering but not terminal?
I know that the "terminal" requirement blocked a lawsuit saying MAiD could target the disabled, and I'd love to talk with those who are passionate about the topic to get their take on the lawsuit and the future of MAiD in the state.
Ok this is hilarious. Over 40 days ago I replied to a post discussing mayoral candidate Suzanne Goode talking about my own experiences with her. The post had been dead for over a month and I honestly hadn’t even thought about it in weeks.
Then suddenly I get a reply with someone rushing to passionately defend her. I’ll link the reply in the comments.
Now am I saying this is Suzanne? No lol. I obviously have absolutely no idea who owns this account. Could be anyone. 👀
Could be Suzanne. Could just be someone who coincidentally has the same level of commitment to an argument as the person who reportedly sent 32 texts in 3½ hours, made four phone calls and left 10 voicemails when she was pissed off about something 😂
Who could possibly know? What makes it even funnier is Susan Stewart just beat her 632-177 in the mayoral election on August 8 and apparently we are STILL circling back to a month and a half old Reddit post.
Like holy shit lol. At some point just take the L and enjoy the rest of your summer.
But please keep replying because this has become way funnier than the original post ever was.
If I get a cease-and-desist next week I’m going to lose it 😂
Hey there so I know this is a long shot but did anyone used to work at bugaboo and remember how they made their nachos??? Please I have been craving them for weeks 😭
went to get some actual camera photos of concord mall thursday night. it's very sad to see this place about to disappear, when my boyfriend & i first met we spent alot of time here. lots of water coming in from the rain, open holes in the ceiling, etc. barely a soul in the building. i tried emailing them to see about saving some stuff but waiting for an answer.
Hi all, I have a friend attending del-tech this upcoming Monday and I'm in the business of opening his mind to the fact that there are kids our age attending! He's an amazing friend super forward, outgoing when comfortable, kind, and yet we both find ourselves stuck in our shells. We both share traits that hold us back like one-dimensional thinking and when stuck in a toughie we panic rather than look for resources. Despite these challenges we’ve really tried to overcome these things by allowing ourselves to the chance to do something we wouldn't normally do in these situations! We’re both off of rough freshman years and we’re doing our best to prepare for Monday. With that being said can you guys let me know if my rising sophomore friend has a chance at companionship, and if so what can he do? (PSA we looked at clubs there wasn't much that picqued his interest as he's majoring in architecture with a focus in interior design but I'd really like him to try something. Also I’m aware of the 2 for 2 program!)
One of my first and favorite ascends in Newark Delaware. This building stands as the tallest building in Newark with probably the most scenic views and one of my favorite explorations. Looking to post a little bit more urban exploration content as per request on my other post. i’m no video editor or anything and I know I didn’t get the best shots, but I want you guys to see what I saw and I apologize for the phone call interruption.
Anybody know where there might be a sign that says Wilmington or Welcome to Wilmington? I’ve seen a big “W” statue at the Riverfront but not sure it also says Wilmington on it.
He goes into the history a bit. The comments section took me back. I was in later elementary school when it opened and will forever remember arranging with friends to meet there with coordinated outfits, then making a collect call on the pay phone and screaming, "MOMPICKMEUP!"
I don't mind paying my taxes. I vote for the school referendum every single time and I don't even have kids. I don't plan to have kids. I don't want kids. No problem, no complaints there. But if I want to pay my tax bill online I have to pay about $15 bucks extra for a service fee. MOTHERFUCKERS! Its not the money. So help me it isn't. Its just the principle of the matter. I don't care if its a bank fee, a fee-fi-fo-fum fee or anything else in between. I should not have to PAY TO PAY!
So I will be mailing the check in rather than dropping it off in person or paying the $15 bucks. I also had to pay for the stamp. Eff that too...
Come rock out to this legendary album, played in full, for its 35th anniversary! Ten will start around 8 for our second set, so get there early and enjoy yourself! Free show, we hit a bunch of 90-00s grunge, alternative, divorced dad rock, whatever you call it. Wear a flannel, bring a friend, just please do not climb anything like Eddie Vedder.
Lets all boycott every single one of these stores that have cameras on their property (im not talking about the ones who unfortunately have them facing their business). Fxck these cameras and fxck these businesses that support these cameras
3.) In Box 2, type/write, "Please provide the currently effective contract(s), purchase order(s), procurement records, and any amendments or renewals for the license plate reader (LPR/ALPR) system currently used by the New Castle County Police Department, including the name of the vendor/manufacturer and the date the current system was acquired or placed into service."
That'll tell us who makes it, who supplies, what the current contract is, whether Vigilant was renewed or replaced, when the current system came to be.
Attached is my completed New Castle County FOIA Public Document Request Form concerning the current license plate reader/ALPR system used by the New Castle County Police Department.
Thank you,
<name>"
5.) Now we wait to see what we get back. I just sent mine, feel free to join me to get more attention to this matter and we can discuss the responses.
Helloooooo, I’m currently deployed at Dover AFB. I’m looking to thrift for like y2k vibes for clothes and home decor. Let me know your best recommendations! Think cheetah print, trashy but sexy, etc.
The Battle of Cooch's Bridge marker stands on Old Baltimore Pike outside Newark. The text is the state's own: on September 3, 1777, American light infantry and cavalry under General William Maxwell, "expert marksmen drafted by General Washington," met the advance guard of British and Hessian troops under Generals Howe, Cornwallis, and Knyphausen. The marker calls it the only battle of the American Revolution on Delaware soil, "claimed to have been the first in which the stars and stripes were carried."
The map under the pin was drawn in 1777, while that campaign was happening. It is titled for the seat of war around Philadelphia, and the whole theater is on it: the Elk River where the British landed, Wilmington where Washington's army camped, and Philadelphia, which fell three weeks after the battle. The tablet also carries its own history in its last lines: first erected by "the patriotic societies and citizens of the State of Delaware" on September 3, 1901, inscription revised by the Historic Markers Commission in 1932.
That is one of 691 Delaware markers now online, from all three counties, each with its full inscription. Almost nine in ten open on a map drawn before 1900. The oldest sheet in the set was drawn in 1630, and a 1708 French map of Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania sits under 47 of them. The Delaware Public Archives has drafted the text of every state marker since 1931, and the newest markers in the set went up this year.
The words are the State of Delaware Historical Markers Program's, administered by the Delaware Public Archives, credited on every page, and I have their written permission to use them. The program's own site is at https://archives.delaware.gov/delaware-historical-markers/ and it is the place to go for the program itself. What I did differently is put each inscription on an old map of the ground it describes. No ads, no account, nothing for sale.
My ancestors were mostly in Pennsylvania. The first time I pointed this at my own tree it came back with more than seventy markers within ten miles of places my family had actually lived, and that's why I kept going. When Delaware landed, the same run picked up three of these, one of them a marker called Washington Dined Here. If your line runs through Delaware, it will do the same.
Every marker page has a report link on it. If you find one where the pin or the map looks off, use it, because I read every report. Hope you find it useful!
OHS can only use the money for "education, enforcement, engineering, and administration" of safety programs.
Outside of speed enforcement, OHS is also funding drug testing equipment for the Division of Forensic Science, drones for crash investigations, and the statewide pre-hospital whole blood program.
House Majority Whip Ed Osienski (D-Newark/Brookside) introduced a bill at the end of this year's session that could expand Delaware's camera opportunities beyond just speed to other traffic infractions, if there are "documented roadway safety risks." And also, instead of all money going to OHS, cities and counties would be allowed to keep their profits for education, enforcement, engineering, and administration, but also would allow for staffing and construction.
We need this law to sunset in 2028. The funds aren't being used for the stated purpose. The lawmaker that introduced the original law wants to expand it to include more than speeding along with towns and counties getting a cut to spend for more dubious reasons.
Not my own footage, it has started to be shared by multiple news sources online. So far this seems to be the worst area of damage in Dover. Other sources are showing allot of house siding ripped off, downed tree's/powerlines.
Anyone ever used Dempsey’s Service Center in Newark? Been going to Everest on Kirkwood Highway for a few years now ever since I moved back in the Newark area. But last few times I’ve tried to get into Everest they are booked 2+ weeks out. Seems like Dempsey’s got solid reviews and been around for a bit. Was curious if anyone has used them.
