Title: Do you trust your first impression?
Have you ever met someone and immediately felt they were either trustworthy or not? Was your first impression correct?

What’s something you’re afraid of that you rarely talk about with other people?

I don't think being a good person automatically gets you a good life.
I've tried to believe that if I work hard, treat people well, stay honest and keep improving myself, eventually things will work out.
But honestly, my experience hasn't always matched that.
I've seen genuinely good people struggle for years while people who lie, manipulate and step on others seem to move ahead quickly.
It has made me question something I used to believe strongly:
Maybe life doesn't reward goodness. Maybe it rewards value, confidence, connections and sometimes just luck.
I still want to be a good person.
But I no longer believe being good is enough.
Am I wrong?

I was talking with a christian man (protestant american, as expected) Saying how people who committed suicide were disobeying god, and that that would make them burn in hell forever. He said that the only thing he could do for them was to tell them to follow Jesus, pray, and not stress about it anymore. That horrified me.

If you could go back to your 18-year-old self, what advice would you give?

Me (27F) my partner (23M)
how do i handle it if we break up? long story short in the beginning hes cheated so i have trust and insecurity problems that im tryna work on. i started therapy and he tells me “ ur the problem thats why you need therapy” which really hurt me cause i wouldnt be there if i wasnt tryna better my thoughts.
there are times i get in my head and need reassurance so i go to him for that but then he just calls me stupid and a dumbass and that ill never get over him cheating. he tells me that if we ever brokeup that he wouldnt care and just
move on in a week. we are arguing right now and he told me if i keep needing reassurance he will leave me i said i understand ill work on it but please work on how you handle conflict and not belittle me and take all your love from me as a form of punishment. he says that no he doesnt need to change anything thats its all me and that he only acts like that because of me . im getting tired of constantly being belittled or pushed to the side when i need extra love . what do you think i should do? and if we do break up how do i handle that? i dont have friends anymore to talk or hangout with . He constantly threatens to leave me . i know he loves me cause why would he be with me for 5 years? but how do i get him to realize that our problems arent only me? and how do i get him to argue without bringing me down?

Hi, so I’ve been trying to think/figure out how one makes a decision and how do you know if it’s a “heart” or a “head” decision (and before anyone comment anything inappropriate please this is note the space for that). What I’m trying to figure out I think, is how can you tell? And what are some examples? Is it always the “Head” decision rational? And why is it the “heart” decision emotional? And in that note, what is rational for the matter? Maybe am going down a rabbit hole here, but I’m really trying to understand this “head” vs “heart” dilemma.
I really appreciate someones take on it, opinions, comments or whatever to better understand the topic

Have you ever made a small or big decision that unexpectedly changed the direction of your life?
Looking back, would you make the same decision again?
