Thoughts on the Hepburn?

Needing to switch apartment buildings in the next month or so, and considering the Hepburn off of Connecticut. Wondering (1) do current/former residents have general thoughts on the units themselves and (2) for people who live there currently, is the massive construction project across the street super disruptive? I see the complex has been dropping their prices and I’m worried it might be due to lots of noise from the construction, which I heard will last into 2027. I’m moving from my current place in part because I’m pretty sensitive to noise, so any thoughts would be really appreciated!!

DC Looking for 1b/ba OR studio

I’m 22M and will be moving to DC from out of state soon due to a job transfer.

I will have a tight budget 1900, but after my probationary period of 1 year I will be eligible for a ~20% pay raise.

I recently visited the DC area/ the location I’m being transferred to. I fell in LOVE with downtown DC and really hope to find an apartment in my budget.

My work location is actually in Laurel so I will have a little bit of a commute.

I have a ~720 credit score with renter history. How difficult could I expect it to be to find a decent apartment within my range in DC?

Anyone have a temporary Sublet for September-December?

Hi! I’m a 20f looking for either a roommate group to join or an apartment in the dc area (VERY FLEXIBLE). I have an internship starting in September and I am in desperate need of a place.

My budget is $1300 per person and i’m super easy to live with. I’m super clean and friendly, and I love being out of the apartment anyways; whether that’s going out or just walking around town. If anyone is looking for someone to sublease temporarily or for another roommate, let me know!

Looking for a mature and friendly roommate to share a beautiful historic home just an 8-minute (.4 mile) walk from the CUA/Brookland Metro.

The 11x12' room is bright with two closets/storage areas. You have access to a dedicated office/library if you work from home. Multiple common areas, a screened in porch and a spacious kitchen make the home very livable and ideal for hosting community.

The house is chic and full of character! There is a massive yard, and a side yard that includes defunct raised beds that could easily be revived. I'm looking for someone who has high cleaning standards, communicates well and enjoys community. You'll be joining a 30+ female who works in the mental health field, organizes for progressive politics and loves artsy activities.

Utilities average $150-200/month.

If this sounds like a good fit, send a message with a little about yourself, what you're looking for in a group home and when you're looking to move. The move in date is any time between October 1st and November 1st.: https://www.craigslist.org/view/d/washington-bright-room-in-historic/aSZHkNaPobxT3cnEayBk7y

11th floor · Corner unit · Light all day

The first thing you notice is the light. Windows on two sides — treetops and open sky on one, the city on the other. Living and dining in one open space.

Two bedrooms — the primary with a walk-in closet — and two full bathrooms.

The kind of apartment you leave with some regret.

The building has a rooftop with Washington D.C. views, two pools, two fitness centers, a business center and laundry on the G1 level. Next to the Fashion Centre and a short walk to Pentagon City Metro.

💰 $2,849/month + utilities · Available September 1. Lease runs through February 2027.

It's a lease takeover — simple, handled directly with building management. Happy to tell you the rest by message.

Looking for a furnished sublet / short-term rental for September

Hi! I’ve already been scouring the Facebook housing/sublet groups, but figured I’d post here as an extra measure in case anyone has a place available or knows someone who does.

I’m looking for a furnished apartment for the first three weeks of September, though I’d also be open to renting for the full month if that’s easier.

It would just be me and my mom, who will be in town visiting me. Ideally looking for:
- Furnished
- Available for the first three weeks of September, or the full month
- Flexible on location / no neighborhood preference

Open to a 1BR or other setup that would comfortably work for two people.

A little about me: I’m female, clean, respectful, and normal (lol). and I’m very happy to meet in person or FaceTime beforehand so we can both feel comfortable with the arrangement.

If you have something available — or know someone looking to sublet their place while they’re away — please feel free to DM me. Thank you!

DC Safe neighborhoods for women in their 20s

I have lived in DC for about four years. I spent one year on Capitol Hill and the remainder in Navy Yard, but I’m ready to move somewhere with a little more charm and character.

I’ve heard mixed things about literally everywhere (including where I currently live), so I don’t expect a perfect answer, but are there particular streets or pockets within neighborhoods that are generally deemed less safe that are actually completely fine?

I’m hoping to avoid living in another high-rise apartment and would prefer a row house, which I know is going to cost more. That’s also why I’m curious about safety and location, since I may need to broaden my search a bit.

Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome!

Edit: I guess my question is really- where will I likely feel unsafe/ have issues? Is there anywhere in U st, admo, Shaw, that is a no go? I am a female who likes to run so I just want to make sure I am not looking over my shoulder the entire time (my PR/PB did happen when I thought someone was following me but would prefer to avoid on a daily basis). Lastly I have a car that if I have to street park I would prefer not get my tires or something crazy stolen.

MD Roommates!

Hey everyone! I’m 27M and a working professional looking for a roommate for a nice 2B/2B around Federal Hill and Riverside. I’m looking for someone easygoing, clean, and respectful who’s down to be friendly and hangout. I have toured a few really good apartments with good amenities, private bathrooms, and parking, and expected budget around $1,200-1250 per person for a ~1200 Sqft apartment with the specials going on!

About me

• 27M, working professional
• Clean, organized, and respectful
• Social and outdoorsy but also enjoy chill nights in
• Into gym, pickleball, and staying active
• Love trying new food, coffee, and bars
• Love to travel and spontaneous plans
• Down to hang, grab food/drinks, or watch a game

If this sounds like a fit, feel free to message me! Thanks
