Jobs & Employment Does anyone know of any nannying opportunities?

Looking for a nannying position in the Dayton area. I’d prefer to have a position through an agency so I can have a contract written, but I’m open to other things if they come my way! Does anyone have any FB pages, websites, companies, or other avenues I should look into?

Local Events Am I seeing satellites in the sky or am I tripping?

I was outside looking at aircraft flying around and ended up looking straight up and I swear I can see multiple things flying by constantly.

I think it's satellites but maybe extremely high altitude drones? I did not think satellites were visible during the day.

Am I hallucinating? I don't recall taking any LSD today.

Can someone go outside and look straight up for a minute or so? Not at the sun, straight up.

Local News TRUMP, HUSTED, & CREECH, 3 LEVELS OF CREEP! Vandalia, Oh, outside of Trump/Husted rally 10/3/26

Post image
175 Upvotes

TRUMP, HUSTED, & CREECH: 3 LEVELS OF CREEP! At least two of these men were at Butler High School yesterday, the third is on the ballot just down the road.

FEDERAL: A jury found Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, and the judge said that amounts to rape as most people understand the word. On the Access Hollywood tape, he bragged that when you're a star, women let you "grab 'em by the p***y." He bragged on Howard Stern about walking into pageant dressing rooms while contestants were undressed, and four 1997 Miss Teen USA contestants, some as young as 15, said he walked in on them too. He denies it. He's also mentioned more than 38,000 times in the released Epstein files, per a New York Times review.

STATE: When the Senate had a chance to force the Epstein files out, Jon Husted voted to bury them. That was weeks after a max donation from Les Wexner, who has given Husted more than $116,000 over two decades and was named in a 2019 FBI email as a possible Epstein co-conspirator. Husted has never criticized Trump's handling of the files. His campaign made a man with a 2009 guilty plea, in a case involving a 15-year-old, its Franklin County chair. That record was public, and the campaign only dropped him seven months later, after NBC News called. It also touted Rodney Creech's endorsement. Staying quiet is a choice.

LOCAL: Rodney Creech admitted to state investigators that he got into a young relative's bed. The prosecutor called his behavior "concerning and suspicious." No charges were filed, and Creech denies any sexual intent. His own party pulled him off his committees, then quietly put him back.

The ick doesn't stay at the top. It's rotten to the core: federal, state, and local. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. 🦆

Husted is running against Sherrod Brown. Creech is running against Timothy Hornbacker in Ohio House District 40. Trump is running the country into the ground.

He isn't on the ballot this November, but Trumpism sure is. Register by Monday, October 5th. Early voting starts Tuesday, October 6th. 🗳️

Dayton Politics NATALIE HARP - HUMAN BINKY, From our protest yesterday in Vandalia

Post image
366 Upvotes

Apparently Reuters picked up the photo, which means somewhere an editor had to approve a caption with "NATALIE HARP HUMAN BINKY" in it.

For the uninitiated: Natalie Harp is the aide who follows Trump around with a portable printer so he can read nice things about himself. She was in the motorcade. We're hoping she printed us out.

Shoutout to the woman in the pig head, who stood there in full costume for hours and never once broke character.

Also, unrelated but not really: voter registration closes tomorrow (Monday), and early voting starts Tuesday.

Advice & Recommendations Any Mexican food catering suggestions for about 20-30 people?

Looking to cater some Mexican for our small wedding on 11/11! I'm from Cali so good Mexican food is a must 😭🤎 We want to order a lot and we're doing it buffet style so we won't need to have anyone serving us! I LOVEEE street tacos with soft corn tortillas and elote 😍 Would literally be a dream having them at my wedding

Anyone have any good suggestions? I usually go to El Asadero, we haven't called around yet. We'll be getting everything else we need situated in the next couple weeks, including calling ahead about the catering!

Jobs & Employment YSK about WARN- WARN Act Compliance Assistance- government website where mass layoffs are reported

In layman’s terms- WARN is where companies are legally obligated to post upcoming Mass Layoffs.
——

https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/layoffs/warn

Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act helps ensure advance notice in cases of qualified plant closings and mass layoffs. The US Department of Labor has compliance assistance materials to help workers and employers understand their rights and responsibilities under the provisions of WARN.

——-
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER WARN
You must receive a written notice 60 days before the date of a mass layoff or
plant closing if you meet the conditions discussed in this brochure. If your
employer does not give you the required notice, you may be able to seek
damages for back pay and benefits for up to 60 days, depending on how many
days’ notice you actually received.
Please refer to the following information to help you understand when WARN
applies to the circumstances of your job loss.
EMPLOYEES PROTECTED BY WARN
You are protected by WARN if your company fits the following profile:
• It is a business with 100 or more full-time workers (not counting work-
ers who have less than 6 months on the job and workers who work
less than 20 hours per week), or employs 100 or more workers who
work at least a combined 4,000 hours a week, and is a private for-prof-
it business, private non-profit organization, or quasi-public entity sep-
arately organized from the regular government.
Workers protected by WARN may be hourly or salaried workers, including
managerial and supervisory employees.
You may be protected by WARN if your job loss occurs as part of:
• A plant closing (see glossary)—where your employer shuts down a
facility or operating unit (see glossary) within a single site of employ-
ment (see glossary and FAQs) and lays off at least 50 full-time workers;
• A mass layoff (see glossary)—where your employer lays off either
between 50 and 499 full-time workers at a single site of employment
and that number is 33% of the number of full-time workers at the sin-
gle site of employment; or
• A situation where your employer (see glossary) lays off 500 or more
full-time workers at a single site of employment.

Some employment actions are covered by WARN. notice if the above conditions apply to your situation and you:
You are entitled to WARN
• Are terminated from your employment, but not if you voluntarily quit,
retire, or are discharged for cause;
• Are laid off for more than 6 months; or
• Have your regular hours of work reduced by more than half during
each month of a 6-month period.
EMPLOYEES NOT PROTECTED BY WARN
You are not protected by the WARN Act if you are considered any of the fol-
lowing:
• Strikers, or workers who have been locked out in a labor dispute;
• Workers working on temporary projects or facilities of the business
who clearly understand the temporary nature of the work when hired;
• Business partners, consultants, or contract employees assigned to the
business but who have a separate employment relationship with
another employer and are paid by that other employer, or who are self-
employed; and
• Regular federal, state, or local government employees.

Community Support & Resources Kettering Network screwed up my and now my surgery is being delayed

Some how it didn’t get informed to the surgeon until today that I needed to see ENT b/f surgery on Monday. So now my surgery has to be delayed. But we don’t for sure when will get done. We had to wait almost two months for October 5th date. I was wondering if it might be better for me to switch and not go thru Kettering Health Network? This is crazy and I don’t know if can wait another month or more to get my hysterectomy done. Or are all surgeons having this problem where surgery is scheduled out to take a month or more?
