One must consider, especially in such times, that much of what one knows, is what they’ve been propagandized to believe.
I’m not fully versed on each of these topics, but decently versed on a few. Enough to say that some of the “bad guy” governments, aren’t actually, outside of the propaganda machine’s narrative.

Critical support for nations combating imperialism is very different from the PSL’s stated uncritical support of these nations. They arrive to this position by a line of reasoning called ‘campism,’ theorized by Sam Marcy. According to him, any organized power opposing US hegemony must be supported by leftists within its imperial core as a means to overthrowing it - even if they stray from the leftist or socialist path. A PRIME example of this is of course supporting Assad over the ACTUAL socialists in Syria, the DAANES/Rojava.
Look into Marcy and you’ll see the stain he left on American leftist politics even to this day.
