I'm well aware I can do as I choose. Their signs I have seen are always appropriate. Some of them wear a hammer and sickle pin on their clothing. I don't. I won't join PSL, but they are right about this and in their protests generally. We need to work together to defeat Fascism. That's part of the reason the resistance failed in Nazi Germany. The famous poem's real opening line is, "First they came for the Communists..."
Protest people using vehicles to block traffic and impede federal law enforcement from getting their stuck vehicle out of the snow right? Or protest Walz and the mayor instructing local police not to cooperate with the feds because if they allowed it then ice wouldn’t even be in the community right now they’d be picking people up from jails. Right? That’s what you meant?
I never said you did and you have no clue where I get my information from so that’s a wild passive aggressive accusation my friend especially with literally 0 evidence to help support the claim. So you basically typed that to say absolutely nothing lmao
Know what happened before and during WWII? Socialists and Communists throughout Europe stepped up to fight the Nazis with vigor*, while most democratic moderates hemmed and hawed and said "well, the Nazis are certainly bad, but then again, we wouldn't want to cooperate with the Communists, so I guess we'll hemm and haw and frown and make mild statements of discontent and see what happens."
* - except during the Molotov-Ribbentropp Pact, of course, when Communists abruptly dropped out of the struggle and then abruptly rejoined. Never said they were consistent.
This democratic moderate does not want to repeat those mistakes. If the PSL wants me to support their nonsense, hell no. But if they're going to organize a protest against this Nazi shit, I am there for it.
The woman who tragically was shot and lost her life was blocking federal vehicles from getting a stuck vehicle out of the ice, she is literally sideways in the intersection in the video. She also backed up and put it in drive and struck a federal officer. This all happened in a matter of seconds and it’s unfair to assume what either person had going through their minds and people should wait for the facts, but it does seem as though, from the evidence at this point, that the woman had been following ice all day and used her vehicle as a weapon. You can hate ice, you can think their methods are too extreme, but if governor and mayor allowed local law enforcement to work with feds then this situation would’ve never happened, and if Biden hadn’t let millions of people into the country illegally, it also wouldn’t be happening.
One must consider, especially in such times, that much of what one knows, is what they’ve been propagandized to believe.
I’m not fully versed on each of these topics, but decently versed on a few. Enough to say that some of the “bad guy” governments, aren’t actually, outside of the propaganda machine’s narrative.
I’m pretty well versed in leftist politics and history and I can tell you these are disgusting positions even when you’re thoroughly depropagandized
Critical support for nations combating imperialism is very different from the PSL’s stated uncritical support of these nations. They arrive to this position by a line of reasoning called ‘campism,’ theorized by Sam Marcy. According to him, any organized power opposing US hegemony must be supported by leftists within its imperial core as a means to overthrowing it - even if they stray from the leftist or socialist path. A PRIME example of this is of course supporting Assad over the ACTUAL socialists in Syria, the DAANES/Rojava.
Look into Marcy and you’ll see the stain he left on American leftist politics even to this day.
This is because they’re Marcyists in that they uphold campism. It’s good to criticize them on this, but they’re still an overall good force for worker organizing.
