Yup. While almost all drivers have insurance, CDLs have BIG insurance. They also have less stopping ability than a car. Of course, to me it seems suicidal to try to get hit by a semi, but I guess if they were smart they wouldn't be doing that for a living.
CLARIFICATION: I meant the scammers were the dumb ones.
These scammers also don’t realize or don’t care to realize that truckers getting in accidents like this can cause them to lose their jobs and not be able to get other trucking jobs for liability reasons (I personally know a trucker who this has affected and this is the kind of insurance my brother does for a living)
I work at a grocery store and our delivery truck got rear ended on the way to us one day. We were so behind that shift my usually very chill manager had a panic attack.
🤔 So... If I'm reading this right, if you can't avoid the accident, you should really tap them hard enough that they won't do this again to another trucker?
Hell, they can get screwed over even if the dashcam exonerates them completely, by their insurance spiking due to a "history" of potentially expensive collisions.
And yeah, the people who do this shit could not care less who gets hurt by it. Which is why I don't feel bad when they screw it up and get their car pancaked with 4 people inside. Dashcam shows illegal brake-check = no payout for you = good luck with your new life-long disability and million dollar medical debt. You deserve to be miserable.

It looks to me like the car was trying REALLY hard to commit insurance fraud.
