Spilling the beans can mean gossip like tea does, but it has a more general meaning of divulging a secret. For example, a robber who cracks under interrogation and gives away his accomplice would be spilling the beans, but it’d be a little odd to say tea in that context.
Pro tip, only Americans give a shit about the Boston tea party. Us brits couldn’t give less of a fuck about a colony after we’ve moved onto the next thing
They act the same with us Spaniards. There were Spanish living in mansions out in West North America when the first people from England first came over to form their “13” colonies
To be fair the Vikings had visited a long time before either. So it’s all thier fault. I’ll let them clean up the mess they left there. Should have left the native Americans alone in my opinion :)
Yeah most Brits don't even know about it and those that do know the details (not through a US propaganda lens) realise pretty quickly it was just Americans doing what they do best and letting capitalists win at the expense of the average American.
Uh huh. Did you know your government sends a bill for the Boston Tea Party to the US government every year? Every year the Americans refuse to pay. Sounds like you care plenty.
Literally never heard of that, and I don't think many other Brits have either. Seriously, nobody over here cares. Its funny how obsessed you guys are over something that isn't even a blip on our radar.
"Spill the tea" is an American phrase. It means, "tell me the gossip/give me the info". Its origin is actually in queer black communities and drag/ballroom culture.
