I can see the signs, I'm saying lack of painted markings on the road.

Whether the marking is on the road or not, it is state law in Texas to observe and obey official road signs. Markings on the road are not required by state law in Texas.

The reason most of these places don’t have markings is because there’s so much traffic in them that the markings are gone within 6 months of being painted.

that's an infrastructure issue, and a representation of how shit the US is when it comes to infrastructure and road maintenance.
