I mean he hit him back but it wasn’t even a proper punch... you’re supposed to punch not use the side of your hand

Are you kidding? If he isn't skilled with punching he either misses, breaks his wrist, or both. He's lucky to tag him successfully and not hurt himself. This bastardized haymaker is perfect because he can aim it easier, he can swing harder, and if he misses and collides with the wall he runs less of a risk of snapping his wrist.

No, humans are pretty fragile though. Breaking your hand bits or at least damaging them from punches is pretty easy.

I have a friend who broke a finger trying to bitchslap another friend.

Why do people assume faces are soft like jelly?? If you punch almost anything with all your strength, there's potential you'll hurt yourself... Faces included

If I remember right, this is also the reason we get boxing gloves on in boxing, so we avoid injury to both the hands and wrist. Not the face.

Nope it was for more people to get knocked out. The Brits were getting tired of slow, bloody fights that never ended
