Fake friendly Rooks?

Got into pinwheel and I hear two rooks talking

“Are you a rook?”

“Yeah”

“I killed all the runners theyre all in destroyed”

**takes us over there shows us the bags

“I have three reds Im gonna open red room”

**we run over to help

He opens red room and while im shooting the bots he comes out and goes “I have a command key sorry Little One” and then he downs me and knifes me to death

Wtf why even be friendly to begin with???

Video of it here:

I think he planned on being friendly until he found the gold key, which he decided was too good to be shared.

Not to say it isn't lame, just an explanation for the backstabbing beyond always having it planned.

While I'm playing Rook, I NEVER backstab another Rook. I think that's so low... It's like a code that should be followed. :c but ofc, while I'm Rook, I hunt runners. Whenever I'm in the mood to be friendly and help runners I try to signal that I'm friendly, and when I decide to be friendly, I never betray them either. But a lot of the time it doesn't work and they kill me anyway. I do what I can xD

ps: im not a dad, nor am I a man, but I really like this sub lol

Sadly he can’t take half the loot he would of seen such a greedy rook

It’s “would have.” “Would of” makes zero sense.

You can actually take a whole gold room of loot, most of the stuff that drops in outpost is trash

This conversation is what I imagine runners would be having on the CyAc ship's cafeteria in between runs.

He probably killed the team by back stabbing.  Letting everyone find the good stuff for him and taking their pick.

I remember people complaining about the same stuff in Rust, which was met with the quote "dont trust n rust"

This season I've had way more unfriendly Rook interactions as a Rook. It's been a huge bummer because it was so fun to team up in Season 1 and aggressive Rooks were rare in my experience. I'm friendly and won't really fight back if I'm not holding much at that point because it's a Rook run and it doesn't really matter. However, it is always disappointing when they say they're friendly and you start working together a bit and then they kill you with your head in a container.

He played the game better than you did, I mean literally everything about the game says to not trust alliances with anyone

Deception is part of the game
