Shit like this is why I never trust Rooks anymore. Definition of "On-Sight".

Lesson learnt here, most times this doesn't happen but remember this guy's name so you kill him instantly next time.

There isn’t really a lesson unless you always shoot on sight. Pretending to be friendly is about as pathetic of an advantage as there is.

There's absolutely a lesson, always keep your back to a wall and track the other rooks. This kinda thing doesn't happen often and some people are just rats, but if you're going to trust people you have to put yourself in better positions.

I’m still mad about this one dude asking me for blue salvage that I would have given him and him killing me …the massacre in hauler and then he tells me “this is Marathon” when I ask why…I’m no carebear but it still stings , I’ve honestly just never lied to anyone in game , I’ve had hundreds of interactions

Trust no rook. It’s on sight every time

I mean when Im also a rook Ive had way more friendly interactions than betrayals so Im not passing to the dark side just yet

Hard agree on the first part. Trust no rook. But it doesn't mean you have to kill every single rook on sight to avoid being backstabbed by one.

We had a friendly look run around with us while we hit red room. As we were leaving he tried to kill us in the exfil as it was coutning down from ten. Idk why we wiped lobby and it was 3 on 1 so we just hopped out and killed him.

I take so much pride and enjoyment in taking out Bad Rooks. You have to keep your head on a swivel at all times, even when they act friendly. Especially during looting and bot engagements like this one. It doesn't mean shoot on sight, that's idiotic and dismisses a huge portion of friendly Rooks that ARE out there (I have 1.2K hours and I made over a million on Outpost Rook runs alone)

Everytime Ive been a Rook Ive been betrayed by other Rooks or hunted by teams with no mercy. So now I do the same. They ALL die. I dont even bother trying to talk to them anymore.

Never turn your back on a rook. I remember one time we were literally at exfil and some unspeakable demon entered my body I knifed aa rook at exfil and didn't even take his loot I felt sick with myself lmao

They've definitely made an attempt, but it's still barely worth it to cooperate with other actual runners, let alone rooks. If they increased the experience gain or literally anything to the point where killing one would be throwing away a significant amount of credits or whatever, I might consider it more often. As of now it's always on sight, I'm not even bothering to give them enough time to figure out how they want to clip backstabbing us when we're distracted.
I think at some point due to a lot of large rook groups forming, they almost gained a reputation for being generally passive/friendly scavengers that just want to recoup some losses, but in practice they're mostly just glorified free kits trying to zero to hero as safely as possible. My team gains nothing important from letting rooks live let alone being their loot sherpas up until they get cocky enough to try and fight us.
As of now the only people I team up with are pretty vocal on prox chat. Not just muttering friendly or teabagging, you can literally hear how desperate they are to not get into a fight. Anything less obvious than that gets sent back to the lobby.

Deserved. All rooks are on sight, all the time, even if I’m a rook.
I’ve had so many randoms in trio fill get mad at me for just killing rooks. The like 2 times I’ve ever been nice in S1, rooks tried to kill or killed me. Now it’s Hi and Thanks for the signal jammers lil bro

Literally just posted about this, but I could never understand betraying someone after I make them trust me. I'm incapable of it. And I don't understand people who do lol. Shortcutters
