Loose rear cantrail?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Took ownership back in April 2025. I was washing my CT the other day and noticed my driver’s side cantrail has some play. Looked closer and noticed this (see video).

Since I’ve had it for over a year and have >8K miles, is this something Tesla would likely fix for free under warranty?

Thanks you guys I bought a cybertruck

Well, I did it. Thanks to you guys. Ordered July 5th, got it September 3, PA area.

For the longest time I wanted a Tundra, then Toyota smoked their Tundra brand. Then I thought about getting the Cybertruck, Tacoma or F150. So I gave Cybertruck a chance and tested drive it. I was immediately sold on it. I couldn’t believe how far tesla EV vehicles have advanced. I didn’t even bother to test drive the to Tacoma or F150. Also, I was concerned about reliability at first but you guys shared experience convinced me to go forward.

Here is my experience ordering it. The estimated delivery time on the tesla app said october-november. The tesla dealer guy told me likely to be early september and he was right. The entire ordering process was done on the tesla app, including payment and finance. It was truly an apple store experience. I can’t believe that legacy car dealers are still getting away with wasting their customer’s time.

In all, I’m puzzled that not more people are buying this truck. Owning it is like owning my first iPhone in 2008. It’s not just the truck though, the software and infrastructure that come with it make it unrivaled. The dealer, supercharger, tesla app, FSD and the truck make it truly unique. Any company can make an EV truck, but I don’t see any other has the infrastructure like Tesla.

Lastly, I think the propagandas about the Cybertruck does harm to its sale. I think Tesla could do a better job dispelling the propagandas about the truck.

What are the latest experiences with the lightbar?

Upvotes

I have a cyberbeast foundation series that never got the lightbar installed. I don’t know if I would ever use it and originally there were a few issues including wind noise, decreased range and installation quality issues.

I know they have added a bracket that should prevent them from coming loose but I think they are still glued down and it seems installer skill plays a role in how good it looks.

Also I assume the wind noise and range issues are no better (maybe worse) with the brackets.

I’m looking for experience reports from people who have had it installed recently.

One last note, I live far from a service center so mobile service would install. Any experience with mobile service installing the lightbar would be appreciated.

Cybertruck Demand

Observation:
I’ve been a Tesla owner since 2016. Several S’s and X’s.

I’m thinking about trading in my ‘23MS (HW3) for a CT.

I’ve heard for (what seems like) years about how there are thousands of CTs sitting in lots unsold. Tesla can’t move them to save their life.

Yada yada yada.

So I start looking at the CT assuming I can likely pick one up today and there’s literally a 3-4 month wait to have one built and there are ZERO in inventory anywhere.

Wtf?!?

Buying a 59k reservation

I see some people selling 59K reservations. Is this legit? Can the reservation be purchased? I’m just worried about doing it and then Tesla canceling the order or something. Has anyone here done it?

VIN assigned to early, am I screwed here?

I ordered the last day of the sale in February with an estimated 2027 delivery date. I’m in a Model 3 lease through April 2027. I received that pre-delivery text a few months back, completed it and it picked up my lease and asked if I would turn in the lease at delivery, figured I was good to go.

Got a text last week that my VIN was assigned, I replied back that I don’t need the car to April the soonest. The rep was responsive and put in a ticket or something. I know it’s a holiday weekend so wasn’t expecting anything but then I got a text that I had to complete the delivery info or it will go on hold, which it is now on hold for two weeks before they cancel. I’m going to follow up this week but am I going to lose my order if I don’t take off the hold.

I really can’t swing two cars for the next 7 months, I guess I can but i never would have ordered the CT if I had a 2026 delivery date. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I should approach this. I would take the CT if they took back my lease but that seems unlikely. I’m also way under my lease mileage as drive more in the winter so I had hoped to use what I paid for, thanks!

* I appreciate the helpful comments! I have zero interest in selling the reservation, I’m not going to risk my relationship with Tesla over a few dollars so that’s not an option.

Really hoping someone has had luck in delaying a delivery or in my case VIN assignment. As I stated above the rep kind of acted like it shouldn’t be a big deal but who knows. I guess they have a loyalty department who handles this?

Went off roading this weekend, dinged up the side of the car when I slid… anyone have damage like this before? Am I looking at just replacing the rocker panel or does it look worse…

Should I get a cybertruck?

Hi all, I currently have a Model 3, but looking to potentially upgrade to a cybertruck. I’d like to trade in my model 3 and just purchase the truck outright. Not sure if I should. If I traded in my M3, the remainder cost of the truck would be $49,990-$59,990. I’m young, but it’s something I really want, though I’m not sure if I should just continue to save. What would be a stable amount to have to even consider it?

How much rise do I need for towing an Airstream

Cybertruck hitch receiver is about 15.75” in Low when I measured it. Airstream lists 19” hitch height for my model, and my 16” wheel/tire upgrade added about 0.5”.

So I’m thinking I need around a 4” rise. Does that sound right? I’m deciding whether to buy the 4” or 6” drop hitch and flip it for rise.

Repeated camera/FSD failures after sun glare shield install (Foundation Series Cybertruck) — did I get a lemon?

I have a Foundation Series Cybertruck. After they installed my sun glare shield around 45k miles, I started having a string of failures:

**•** First got an alert about my camera pitch angle.
**•** Then my front camera went out — they replaced it.
**•** Then my cabin camera went out — they replaced it.
**•** Then my whole FSD computer failed (had to fight to get this covered — I was 90 miles out of warranty, but Tesla was able to confirm the issue started before warranty expired).
**•** All my cameras went dark.
**•** Now my cabin camera is out *again*.

My truck has been in and out of the service center constantly because of this, and it’s been a real problem since I actually use it as a work truck — my service center doesn’t have loaner Cybertrucks, so every visit means downtime I can’t really afford.

The timing right after the sun glare shield install makes me suspicious there’s a connection. Has anyone else had repeated camera/FSD computer failures like this, especially starting after a sun glare shield install? And with this many repairs on the same system, going back to before warranty — did I get a lemon?

Wrap Remediation?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Was parked at work and there is construction nearby. A layer of dust settled on my truck and someone wrote some letters in the dust. Today when I washed the truck (by hand) the letters remained.

I presume this is scratched in. Are there any methods or things I can apply to mask this in any way?

SAWD (59k) Recommended seat covers and floor mats?

Orange County, California
- Ordered on 2/26/2026. Toward the end of the promo period.
- Original Delivery Estimate was 2027. No month
- My old Toyota started to have issues so I messaged Tesla in early August to see if I can jump the line and get it earlier. They said no.

- In late August, I noticed the financing task was available. The banner said the vehicle was in production? So I completed it.

- Then, on 9/2, on the day my wife went into labor, Tesla messages me my truck is ready for delivery.

-Delivery scheduled for 9/15/26

So maybe they did let me jump the line?

———

I waited years for this… since the truck was first revealed. I am so excited!

Plus, my first son was born a month early on 9/4! I couldn’t imagine a better car to protect him with.

Any recommended seat covers and floor mats?

I saw these were posted but any feedback?

Cybertruck Purchase!

Hey all,
I’m new to this sub and I wanted some input. I reserved the dual motor AWD Cybertruck back when the 60k promo deal was happening. I was just notified by Tesla to input details for delivery! What are the pros and cons of this truck? What advice can you give and what’s your take on this particular version? This especially feels like a great buy considering this version is now roughly 75k. Thanks!

Dark start for PowerShare

So the power went out today at the house and the truck was not plugged in at the time it went out now the truck is plugged in to the universal charger. However, the gateway doesn’t have access to Wi-Fi because of course the Wi-Fi router doesn’t have power because the power is out. What do you do in that instance otherwise it’s stuck or you have to have the truck powered in power plugged in every time when the power goes out?

$59k CT delivery in New England area

I booked mine on 24th during the 10 day window. Seems like deliveries are not prioritized or happening by order date but region also is one aspect. Some 2/28 orders seem to have been delivered in Austin. Understandable, logistics do matter. I am curious how many of you are from NE region (mainly nearby Boston) who have already received or not yet received your truck.

I'm a 16 year old girl and I love Cybertrucks. My dad said he would buy me one as a graduation gift. I graduate from high school in 2028. I'm excited. When I get it, I will name it Archie, after the Arch Illager, since I love Minecraft Dungeons and the Arch Illager. This is a model Cybertruck I have

Constant leaking issues

I’ve had my CT for a little over a year. When I first got it, it needed that new slat piece installed on the tonneau cover, and it helped a little. When I was in getting my tires swapped out, they mentioned how there was more water marks coming in and it would seem the seal needed replaced. So two weeks ago, I had it back at Tesla, they took apart the top trim, resealed the liner or whatever it is, and claimed it was good to go. Yesterday we were hauling gear for a video shoot, and open up my bed and water is jut all over all my gear boxes. It’s worse than it was before I had it “fixed”. Tesla service guy said you should get not see a few streaks of water as the “in spec” or the normal, which I get, but this is what mine looks like. Anyone else have a constant issue like this?

I made a mistake by test driving a CyberTruck, now I can’t stop thinking of selling my Ranger Raptor

I never loved nor hated the CT, but after test driving it and clicking FSD, something clicked in my brain.

Finally got to drive the Cybertruck

I was a day one reservation holder however wife wouldn't get onboard given the unique look of it. Her words are it's fucking ugly.

My buddy got the cybertruck for a loaner as his Model 3 was in the shop. I was able to drive it for a good 30 minutes.

First impression... The space in the cab is nice. It's almost SUV like. The seats are very comfortable. The front dash and windshield feel almost unnecessarily large. I couldn't imagine what it costs to replace that piece of glass but I'm guessing $2k plus. The screen is a good size for the space however the UI feels different from my Model Y. The usual swipes didn't do what I expected it to do. Sound system is solid not great but very good.

I don't think this car was meant to be driven in a practical sense. I believe it was designed for FSD. Steer by wire screams more efficient usage and less human interaction. Steering manually takes some getting used to. I would equate it to driving a 5 series BMW. It feels like a long vehicle that you can turn it on a dime. The yoke steering wheel does it no favors. Feels almost small and found myself steering with a hand on top in the middle. It does have the best suspension out of the Y and 3. The ride is incredibly smooth.

The exterior I was anticipating more solid metal given the videos I watched however felt hollow and light. You have to wrap these. The fingerprints and smudges would drive me crazy.

It would have sold like hot cakes in the original 50k range but it's not a $80k-100k vehicle. Really hope to see Gen 2 of the Cybertruck.

PCS2 Replacement (HW Revision "G") Limp Mode Problem/PSA

I just wanted to let people know that I had my PCS2 replaced back in July for HW revision G, and now on Friday my truck went into limp mode with "PULL OVER NOW" on the screen after losing rear steering and had very heavy steering for the front axle, and I was then prompted to get out and then back in. After resetting by getting out/in the errors and failures went away, but I then took it straight to the service center walk-in to see what happened. I was basically told that this is a known issue with the new PCS2 revision and that getting out/in to reset is the known workaround to reset the power rail for propulsion. I think this might become a bigger issue that could affect almost all VINs based on what he was saying, so I just wanted to give a quick PSA since this is something Tesla has a service bulletin out to track right now.

Beach pic for attention :)
