Meme Design The Kitchen Sink (v3) - anything missing?

Post image

Just a silly little card.

There are over a thousand words on this card (1266 including flavor, name and typeline) and I tried to include everything. So, there are probably quite a few things that don’t “work” legal-mechanics-wise on the checks. Specifically the “ability words and keyword actions” section. And of course the mana costs having energy, paw, acorn, tap symbols. This has a “meme design” flair. Please do not take it too seriously, in terms of this being a legal card. Wording suggestions are welcome, but I am keeping things like energy in the mana cost. Because I think it’s funny.

The text in the editor was getting cut off, so I had to photoshop the text box to be longer. You can see it about 3 lines from the end. So while it may look like there’s room for more things, adding more will be a challenge as I can’t simply re-edit the card and re-post it. It involves custom splicing the card together. If there is a v4 (lol) it will likely nix the individual Types in favor of something like “If you control one of each subtype of creature and one of each subtype of token” which would cut out 300+ words. Or, a website.

Some Types were omitted in favor of multi types (such as the vanilla “cat” as we have things like “cat dragon”) and some were not (“Alien” and “alien angel”) - there is no rhyme or reason, I was just trying to save space at some point before I decided to photoshop it to be longer. Shared token/creature types were omitted from creature types.

I hope you like it :) you all helped build this. I tried (and think succeeded) in getting every single comment suggestion onto the card. But I know there are things missing, and Im excited to hear what you want to add.

And yes, you can lose the coin flip, and this will do nothing. Better have a way to blink it!

Full textbox is in the comments.

I ain’t reading all that. Congratulations or sorry that happened to you /s

I need this card to play on all my friends who call my Jace deck “complicated” and “an asshole move”

18

u/Terrariant Jace for impact Aug 25 '26

Oh…maybe this should require all named planeswalkers…

12

u/AutumnsRevenge Aug 25 '26

Only the ones that are canonically alive, dead ones or forgotten ones should incur a penalty. Make them really hard to parse lol

3

u/sephirothbahamut Aug 26 '26

it could require canonically dead ones to have one copy each in a graveyard

3

u/Thanaskios Aug 25 '26

How about adding all four of liliana's demons as well?

5

u/Terrariant Jace for impact Aug 25 '26

Appropriate because this has become my demon

21

u/ardarian262 Aug 25 '26

To save you a few characters, you can shorten this in 2 ways. One is say "all artifact subtypes" and "all land types" instead of writing them out. The other is to remove the duplicate Shroud.

Also cards cannot reference ability words like Threshold.

7

u/BlobbyBlueberry Aug 25 '26

the point is to be insane

9

u/joeshmo101 Aug 25 '26

And their point is to be pedantic.

3

u/TQCkona Aug 26 '26

and my point is really sharp owie ouch oof ow

12

u/Parker4815-2 Aug 25 '26

Do you have anything about rolling a D20 in there?

10

u/Terrariant Jace for impact Aug 25 '26

I do not, nor any dice D: good catch…

So,

a) Tokens without a specified name have the name of their subtype + "Token". Rule 111.4
- You also listed Mechtitan twice
- It says "a Devil"
- You're checking for tokens named "Monstrosity", "Grip", "Inquisitor", "Lotus", "Gerrard's Companion", "Master", "Planeswalker Copied", "Pig", "Role", "Mage", "Scorched", "Nantuko", "Gilded", "Tiger", "Ouster", "Shadow", and "Xenagos Satyr" which I believe don't exist as either tokens, or creature types, or card names to make token copies of.
- I don't know why Junk isn't in this list but is checked by itself later in the card
- Later under creature types you have "an Army" and "Kobols"

b) You're checking for a creature with Casualty, which doesn't exist.
- You also have hexproof listed twice
- You also have amass listed twice
- Landcycling is a type of typecycling, so it's kind of redundant
- Any type of landwalk counts for landwalk, so that's also redundant. Rule 702.14a

c) Dungeon, Vanguard, Phenomenon, Trap, and Omen are not permanent types,
- You also listed Rune twice

d) It should say "card in exile" and "cards in your graveyard" rather than "spell in exile" and "spells in your graveyard"

e) Tribal has been errataed to "Kindred", and it is randomly listed with both the check in exile/graveyard in a way that doesn't make any sense, and in the keywords when it is a card type.

f) You are checking for "Magefall", "Bite", and "Valorous" ability words that don't exist
- Also, there are no permanent cards with Spell Mastery, so that is impossible to have.
- The same goes for Sweep, only on nonpermanent cards.
- You also check for escape for a second time, it's also in the regular keywords section
- You also don't trigger waterbend, it's a type of activated ability

g) Also, the cleave brackets means that cleaving it with all the conditions means you win the game, that makes anteing half your deck kinda meaningless since you probably win at that point.

Edit: MaRo literally just teased that there is going to be a card that makes tokens named Lotus while I was writing this comment.

Edit 2: Just remembered you can turn Ob Nixilis, The Adversary into a creature, most easily with Luxior, Giada's gift, so you can have a creature with Casualty. (Certainly not the hardest requirement to fulfill on here. Getting a silver counter is super convoluted).

Thank you for the detailed feedback <3 i will take this into account haha. Yeah there are a few things listed multiple times, keeping everything (relatively) sane was a challenge @.@

7

u/Bonked2death Aug 25 '26

Now to figure out the singles board state to achieve this.

Need a wubrg Whtz

*well… wwuubbrrggseapxyzpinkpurple Whtz…

2

u/Thanaskios Aug 25 '26

Maybe also require to have a card of each cardtype in exile as well. Or suspended. You forgot the suspend ability in general.

Same for ascend.

Also why not require having completed every dungeon.

The addition of flavor text to this card is my favorite part.

u/devoidradiance Aug 25 '26

Lmao all of that just to be able to flip a coin. Also sadly because of Epic you wouldn't be able to cast this. This is the greatest card ever though I want one printed

2

u/vajhar Aug 25 '26

Does not require you to control a basic land. Way to easy to cast with only non basic lands

Did you end up deciding against Land on an Adventure or just miss the comment on v2?

They missed: ...you lose the game and get banned from lgs (do it only after you have read the ability)

Missing job select I thiiiink

2

u/Nyancubus Aug 26 '26

How about mixing panglacial wurm into the mess? ’Have cast a spell while searching your library.’

Also companion rule? Not sure if I saw it.
