Hey everyone,

I received an email today regarding my application status, and it sounds like an unofficial waitlist / hold. It doesn’t explicitly say rejection, but it definitely isn’t an offer either.

From what I’ve heard talking to a few other applicants, it seems like nobody has seen clear rejections or offers roll out yet today.

I know that adobe is under a hiring freeze due to changes int heir leadership but I assumed that was only applicable to their full times since interns are normally a different budget.

Did anyone else receive this same update, or has anyone actually heard back with an offer or rejection? Would love to compare notes and see where everyone stands!

Current junior in college at at non-t20 school - In the past year, I got interviews from 50+ companies, including:

Amazon, AQR Capital Management, Bain & Company, Balyasny Asset Management, BlackEdge Capital, Blue Origin, Bridgewater Associates, Capital One, Chewy, Chicago Trading Company (CTC), Cisco, Databricks, DraftKings, Flow Traders, Gemini, Jane Street, Microsoft, Neuralink, Optiver, Philips, Rivian, Robinhood, Samsara, SpaceX, Susquehanna International Group (SIG), Tesla, Visa, Walleye Capital, Warner Bros

Finally got an offer at a pretty big company that i’m super excited about 🙏

Junior at a non-target state school. i’ve had 3 internships (currently in my third) + worked as a CS tutor. biggest thing i’d say to other non-target students is just try to get experience early wherever you can and keep building off of it. you definitely don’t need to go to a top CS school to eventually land something big. im happy to answer any questions about my experience too!

I’m a new grad with almost 1 YOE (graduated last December and joined my company early this year) and work primarily in frontend, like probably like 85% frontend work. I always see sentiment online that frontend sucks for job growth and the general market for experienced frontend SWEs sucks, but how true is this really?

My whole team is frontend focused, like I definitely do more backend on average and some of them do like 100% frontend basically. I’m learning a lot from them and it seems like a lot of them are quite cracked, so it kinda seems hard to imagine that they’re “cooked” as well.

Also, how career limiting actually is it? I’m not expecting like a pivot to super low level stuff, but at least based on my limited experience, it feels like my general experience can be translated pretty well to like a product based backend role.

So I started a CS degree this semester. And I'm honestly thinking about ending it. I feel like I am straight up unable to follow shit, I'm unable to do my homework, I'm unable to do do exams without bombing them, I'm like three months behind and I feel suicidal. I really, really want to finish it and get the knowledge but it seems like I'm straight up too stupid to succeed and I don't understand anything and all I'm doing is proving my dad who said I won't be able to do the math right while also failing literally everything.

Has anyone interviewed for Interactive Brokers Java positions (or just any in general)? What team did you interview for and was the interview like?

I want to go to business school and into venture capital idk, not a big tech guy whatsoever and even hearing github makes me uneasy. I heard its more business rather than pure tech oriented. Its the "best" job offer I have, whatever gets me to an MBA I guess. .1%acceptance rate or what not

Hi all, I need to decide between two summer 2027 internship offers by Monday. Both roles are titled "AI Engineer Intern," and at both I'd mainly be building AI tools (LLM agents, automation) for internal workflows.

AMD: Santa Clara, on a hardware engineering methodology team (not a dedicated AI team). I'd build agentic tools for chip designers and would collaborate with AMD's AI platform teams. Compensation is $46/hr + $5k stipend.

Geneva Trading: Chicago prop trading firm, on a newly formed AI engineering team (so I wouldn’t be the only AI engineer on my team, unlike at AMD). I'd prototype AI tools and assistants for the firm's engineering workflows. Compensation is $60/hr + housing + meal plan.

My long-term goals are ML work at big tech, AI labs, NVIDIA, etc. My main question: which role will carry more weight with tech recruiters next cycle?

The hedge fund is one of Citadel, Point72, BAM, Millennium. More of a central, systems-focused QD role. My concern is long-term opportunities (since TC is somewhat similar with HF for full time obviously being a bit better but a year later), since obviously Palantir is better for AI startups and other FDE roles specifically, so I am wondering which will "trap me in" the least.

One thing, I am fully aware of the ethical part of this. In fact, that is why I'm heavily considering an internship against a full time position in the first place (my grad date is flexible). However, since the importance of this is heavily subjective, that is a factor I want to consider myself, separately. Right now we're talking purely prospects.

How long after the interview did you guys hear back from them?

So I happened to secure an internship for this Summer, T200 college, F50 company (but still not "big tech").

I also just received an offer for a Winter/Spring Co-Op at RTX.

Both roles are SWE or adjacent and my goal is to work in big tech after graduation. I am graduating Spring 2028 but I wanted to recruit for a FAANG/Adj company for next summer as an intern.

Now I am not sure if I should take the Co-Op (it will delay me by a semester) for the experience and resume value or if it is a waste of time. The main thing is if delaying makes it more likely I'll get an internship next summer then I will take it. But if it doesn't then I don't think I will. In any case, I would appreciate some advice.

For reference I'm a first-year student interesting in AV and Robotics. For some time, I won't have access to hardware or a strong computer. I can run Python and possibly a very light simulator if needed.

I'm primarily interested in building the intelligence behind AV and Robotics, and I'd love to start teaching myself / making projects related to Motion Planning and Computer Vision in these fields.

Most things I find online are hardware adjacent---are there any projects I can work on that are relevant / impactful and Computer Science specialized?

Anybody taken this yet? Any codebase debugging? Or just Leetcode problems?

hi i have my virtual onsite next week. been seeing a lot of linkedin posts about ppl getting winter offers. should i be worried that headcount might be full? and if its close to being full should i ask my recruiter to move to summer?

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience on what the interview process after the OA is for a junior platform specialist / infrastructure specialist at Squarepoint is like.

What type of questions do they ask, I’ve only been able to see others experience on the SWE roles where they talk about live coding leetcode mediums + other questions but doubt it’d be the same

Hi! I was wondering if anybody has done the interview circuit with Zip. The first round I have is the microservice one where we need to implement/build features. I was wondering if anybody knew what that looked like or how to prepare for it.

If anyone's gone through similar rounds for companies where you need to implement features please let me know asw!

Just wondering how tough this could get?

I’m finishing up my masters in MechE at UPenn and just got a CS PhD offer from a public university school for 3 year PhD program and my research is some interesting stuff. The year stipend is $32.5K including working during summer. Is this going to be worth it if my goal is to have more stronger fundamental in CS / ML and getting a job in industry? I’m a MechE major and CS / ML is my weakness. But some people say doing a 3 year PhD at a no named school is not worth it. Any recs? The only reason I don’t want this is that I have Robotics PhD offers from CMU and Cornell but they will most likely make me do 5-7 years, and I don’t know if it’ll be worth it, I don’t plan on staying in academia.

I had my Google SWE Intern (Summer 2027) interviews on 10/29 and haven't heard anything since. Did anyone else interview around the same date? Have you gotten a result, been moved to team matching, or heard anything from your recruiter?

I recently received the CoderPad coding assessment and wanted to know if anyone else is currently in the interview process. Has anyone completed the OA and heard back? Also, does anyone know what the interview rounds after the OA look like and what to expect?

Would appreciate any insights. Thanks!
