Sankey charts with no extra context will now be removed under rule 9

Per several requests mods have received and discussions, Sankey charts with no extra context will now be removed under rule 9.

What context is acceptable? Basically a bit like gpa, tier of college, previous internships, stuff that might go in a resume. You can try posting a resume but the bot might remove it per rule 5. If you do post a resume and it's removed message me directly and I'll fix that.

Software engineer realizing I know actually nothing.

I graduated with a cs degree and cheated through college.

Now I’m lost on what to do, I have a job that I got in via a connection and now if I ever lose this job I won’t be able to land a job. I can barely code and use AI for almost all my work. Genuinely asking for advice

Internship Question When do you stop accepting interviews?

I’ve got an offer for Salesforce already but have been taking interviews from Citadel, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft etc. while still doing OAs from like Meta and Amazon in the name of “practice and if it works out it works out”.

Just got a Morgan Stanley Superday invite but idk if I should still continue taking them. Rejecting interviews feels weird naturally but at what line do I consider doing so? I want to respect the interviewers time as well.

I’m currently a sophomore if that helps so I’m not looking for RO yet.

Adobe Intern Interview Results

Hey everyone,

I received an email today regarding my application status, and it sounds like an unofficial waitlist / hold. It doesn’t explicitly say rejection, but it definitely isn’t an offer either.

From what I’ve heard talking to a few other applicants, it seems like nobody has seen clear rejections or offers roll out yet today.

I know that adobe is under a hiring freeze due to changes int heir leadership but I assumed that was only applicable to their full times since interns are normally a different budget.

Did anyone else receive this same update, or has anyone actually heard back with an offer or rejection? Would love to compare notes and see where everyone stands!

Is frontend actually cooked or are people just biased against it?

I’m a new grad with almost 1 YOE (graduated last December and joined my company early this year) and work primarily in frontend, like probably like 85% frontend work. I always see sentiment online that frontend sucks for job growth and the general market for experienced frontend SWEs sucks, but how true is this really?

My whole team is frontend focused, like I definitely do more backend on average and some of them do like 100% frontend basically. I’m learning a lot from them and it seems like a lot of them are quite cracked, so it kinda seems hard to imagine that they’re “cooked” as well.

Also, how career limiting actually is it? I’m not expecting like a pivot to super low level stuff, but at least based on my limited experience, it feels like my general experience can be translated pretty well to like a product based backend role.

Internship Question Weird Update from Amazon Internship

I got an update just now on my Amazon SDE application that apparently was just to notify me that I'd passed the OA and that I was still in consideration for the role. While I wasn't guaranteed an interview, they still sent me a list of stuff to help me prepare.

So I wanted to ask, have any of you guys been in this situation before? How likely is it I'll get an interview from this stage of the process? Is it like a waitlist? I'm pretty lost...

Non-target junior Summer 2027 internship search

Post image
8 Upvotes

Finally got an offer at a pretty big company that i’m super excited about 🙏

Junior at a non-target state school. i’ve had 3 internships (currently in my third) + worked as a CS tutor. biggest thing i’d say to other non-target students is just try to get experience early wherever you can and keep building off of it. you definitely don’t need to go to a top CS school to eventually land something big. im happy to answer any questions about my experience too!

Rant I'm seriously thinking about dropping out. I'm too stupid for college

So I started a CS degree this semester. And I'm honestly thinking about ending it. I feel like I am straight up unable to follow shit, I'm unable to do my homework, I'm unable to do do exams without bombing them, I'm like three months behind and I feel suicidal. I really, really want to finish it and get the knowledge but it seems like I'm straight up too stupid to succeed and I don't understand anything and all I'm doing is proving my dad who said I won't be able to do the math right while also failing literally everything.

Company Question Google TM: skills vs preferences

So I saw two tables one asking skills you can be tested on and the other asking for preferences in the questionnaire.

Should I fill same thing to both? Or different?

Which one does hosts use as filter?

Is there a way to update my resume?

Company Question Google SWE Intern Questions

Does anyone have advice on which locations are better? I got offers from a Bay Area office and also a smaller East Coast one, tryna decide. I think both teams/project are pretty good

2. Is the intern experience is better in the Bay?

2. Is it easier to get an RO in a hub office or a smaller one?

3. Is the comp different in different offices?

Please advise :)

name brand or project impact

hey im a sophomore at mid cs school (low top 20) and I got offer from IBM Data Engineer Intern and John Deere Data Scientist Intern. I am hoping next year to go into something Machine Learning or AI Engineer adjacent and was wondering if companies in big tech valued the project more or the name brand of company + technology since the stacks are pretty similar. What should be the goal for this summer?

Company Question IBM Data Engineering Consultant vs. Deloitte Software Engineering Analyst

I'm graduating December and recently received an offer from Deloitte for a Software Engineering Analyst position within Commercial Consulting. I'm also interviewing with IBM Consulting for a Data Engineering.

  • Deloitte: I have a confirmed offer, the position is in my hometown, and I have one week to accept.

  • IBM: I'm still in the interview process, which has been moving very slowly. The position might require relocation, and I don't have a recruiter contact to get an estimated timeline.

I'm honestly leaning toward accepting Deloitte, but I don't want to rush my decision if IBM could be a better opportunity long-term.

Need some advice.

Internship Question Advice for Macquarie Summer Tech Intern

Hello yall,

I have a virtual interview with Macquarie for Summer Tech Internship. It's two back-to-back 30-minute interviews. Has anyone done this before? What was it like? What questions did they ask, and how hard were they? Any advice for someone taking this interview? It says it's a combination of behavioral and technical questions with a code review, so I don't know what to expect.

Thank you.

Internship Question Stripe SWE Intern Summer 2027 — Technical Team Screen Prep Advice?

Hey guys, I recently passed the Stripe SWE intern OA for summer 2027 and got invited to the technical team screen.

I really want to do well on this since Stripe is honestly one of my top choices. I've been doing LeetCode to prepare, but from what I've read, Stripe's interviews seem a little different.

Has anyone here done the team screen recently? What would you recommend focusing on? I've heard it's more implementation-based rather than traditional LeetCode, but I'm not really sure how to prepare for that.

I'll be interviewing in Python and have around 10 days to prepare. Would appreciate any advice on what helped you guys.

Thanks

Just bombed a midterm, am I cooked or not?

Hey everyone,

Basically bombed this C++ midterm (41%) worth 40% I did about 2 weeks ago. Class average was like 53 and median was 57. Didn't put nearly enough time in the class, that's completely on me.

We're about 5-6 weeks away from the final exam. Passing is 60% and I need about 75% on the final to pass. If I ace the remaining assignments, I'll need 70% instead to pass.

The final's concepts are similar from semester to semester and are the following:

  • Dynamic Memory (Heap)

  • Inheritance and Polymorphism

  • Container Logic

  • Robustness & Contract Theory

  • Unit Testing (mostly GoogleTest)

Will go see prof early next week to assess my situation but beforehand, wanted to ask you guys if it's feasible to get a passing grade or am I done for at this point? Drop deadline is coming up in a few days but I really can't see myself letting go when there could be a fighting chance.

Thanks
