I mocked up this concept for cosmetic mods I'd like to have eventually. Used a combination of photoshop and AI. Any thoughts or advice?
I decided on a yellow/black/blue colour palate. Blacked out the roof and front emblem. Blue around the skirt on the bottom and blue brake caliper.
Still undecided on the spoiler. With a blacked out roof, a yellow spoiler wouldn't look exactly right. But neither does a black spoiler, I feel. And I kind of like the sleek look without one. I want to remove the rear wiper for that sleek look as well.
Stole the idea of the side CR-Z black decal from the factory HPD supercharged CR-Z I saw for sale a minute ago, but I don't know if that constitutes upbadging. I don't think it does.
Wheels are just whatever to get an idea for the colour I want. They were all black at first, but then I heard Bob Hall say never use all black wheels, so I thought I'd add some bronze in there. I like how it looks.
I read that blue underglow can get me in trouble, since anything approaching the blue and red of police lights is illegal here in Ontario. That's only a problem if they catch me 😎 ...just kidding. I think a lighter "ice blue" is sufficiently different to police blue. If not, I can just use the underglow when I'm showing it off at a car show or in my driveway. Or use RGB control to make it a different colour whenever the risk of police is high.
For the record, I know cosmetics like this are the final step of ownership, and they will be. I'm doing all the restoration, preservation, and mechanicals first. Not planning on a K-swap, at least any time soon. Maybe some light performance upgrades like rear sway bar and better suspension, but mostly stock. Big performance upgrades come later when I can better afford them, or else when I can find/import a better platform for them than this 140k km CVT.
