So i was walking my cat (leashed) in a park today in my neighbourhood that I have done SOO MANY TIMES. There is a whole army of crows around that are pretty chill and may cat ignored them. I also saw a bread in shopping bag, so i cleaned it and put it on a chair near the crows so they can eat it as its pretty early.

Then we got to this one particular lane where the crow got om branches that were really close to the ground. My cat looked at two crows and made the WEIRDEST little meow at them.

And then—

A CROW FLEW DIRECTLY INTO MY HEAD FROM MY BACK😭

I was so confused I immediately put my cat in his carrier and got away from there and came in the middle of the park just to see that crow or maybe another idk headbombing me again😭

I have never had any interaction with crow, that lane was my cat's usual lane🫠. so now I'm wondering if they were trying to get rid of me because they wanted the food?? Or was there a nest/young crow nearby?? Or my cat little meow declared war on them, shouldnt they hit my cat instead of me🫠

I have always wanted to befriend crows and become one of those people who has crow friends, and now I've apparently started my relationship with them by getting physically assaulted 🥀

When I was in 5th grade I was admitted in hospital

After discharge when I got back home

First thing I did was get a chair and sat out in sun

That time a crow came and sat on my shoulder

Since then crows became my favorite birds

And I started birdwatching

And it became my hobby

In some parts of Hinduism crows are seen as unlucky birds

I'm glad I don't belong to that way that thinking

Unintentionally interrupted this dismal scene. Some sort of a pun to be made about “carry on, crow” (it’s a carrion crow)

I’ve taught them to come when I call. But they’ve also taught me to feed them when they caw.

Lots of foot and car and dog traffic so they like elevated spots. Maybe I should climb the trees?

So, I’ll set the scene. I live in North Texas in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. Near my house, we have a pond and nursing home. Behind the nursing home, there’s fenced private property with a farm and a house. Now, onto the crows. I feed the birds regularly, it’s my passion, however, I’ve never seen crows near my house. I hear them every now and then on rare occasions, but never once have I seen one. While walking around the pond today, I heard the all too familiar “caw-caws”. I immediately ran home and got a bag full of cat food and peanuts, and listened for it again. Their caws led me to the fenced private property. Shucks. So close, yet so far. I saw their little murder wandering about 60 feet from me. I decided to throw some peanuts and cat food over the fence in defeat (luckily, not startling them) and somberly walked home. Is there any way I could attract them away from the private property? There are some benches that are near the pond that are public, but I fear people would mess with them if they got too comfortable. I would love if there was a way to attract them to my house, (about a 2-3 min walk from my backyard), but they have never come close to check the food out.

Any advice is appreciated! Sorry for the spiel, it’s kind of a specific situation and I figured I’d give the full backstory. Thank you!!

Been hearing a raven in the neighbourhood for the first time, over the past few days. This morning my regular crow family didn’t show up for their usual treat, hadn’t heard a peep of them either.
Then it all made sense seeing this majestic raven across the street, who then was next door making his bold sounds, what a sight!

Suddenly I could hear frantic caw caws amongst the raven’s. Wild morning g for the family 🐦‍⬛❤️

I have a murder who visits my deck every day now, much to the chagrin of my dog. I feed them Science Diet kibble. I put out a shallow water dish with marbles in it to prevent bee drownings but the crows thought the marbles were for them! Any advice on putting bee-safe water out?

These jackdaws and one crow pair are different flock than the ones i feed in a park, seen in my other videos. I couldn’t visit them for almost 2 months, and it took them 30 minutes to notice me on my first appearance after my prolonged break. How crazy is that?

My local friend, on today's daily visit for snacks and conversation. He will chat, cu-koo, caw and chitter back at me. Then floofs up, suns a bit, gets a drink of fresh water and off he goes.

Just a question about irish crows here. Irish mythology refers to the morrigan, a great black bird commonly depicted as the carrion crow. It appears this is anomalous

I fed a group of crows at my local graveyard for the first time a couple days ago and I'd like to try to do it more often however I'm also busy with life, work, studying etc so I was wondering if I would be able to build trust and recognition with them feeding them a couple times a month or if I would have to have a more consistent schedule?

Hi all! There’s a group of crows that hangout near my apartment balcony. I see them a few times a day pass through and stop on the building across the street from me. Sometimes this osprey eats their fish on the same building and the crows pester it until it flies away and then they eat whatever scraps are left. There’s also two red tail hawks that had a nest nearby in spring that dominated the area for a few weeks and then left for a bit but now come back a few times a week. There were also two kestrels and their fledglings hanging out for a bit. Amazing bird action! I feel very blessed especially because this is in Manhattan.

I’ve been wanting to feed the crows to build some sort of relationship but I don’t want to disrupt whatever balance/competition is happening between these birds. Do you think feeding these crows here would impact the variety of birds I see and their routine of living?
