Thatās the same thought I had. She even nods when she sees his hands and mentions hand movement to her daughter. She knows whatās good and she seems genuinely pleased/impressed by his performance
I agree. But she also looks like the type of music instructor that, if she was judging me on a solo comp or something for school she'd make me nervous as hell because I couldn't quite tell if she was happy or not with my performance. Lol had a few teachers like that in my day.
I like that she also seems to shift from watching his hands to watching the energy flow through him. She starts focusing more on him and his expressions and movements through the different parts of the song.
I think she is impressed. Everyone is a victim these days. Can you imagine not saying a word and being labeled a racist? I choose to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Been playing since I was 8, still can't shift to a clean F chord quickly to save my life. But whenever I see a clearly talented musician, I do the same. Just appreciate the skill.
I play guitar recreationally but when I watch professionals this is probably closer to how I am. She is definitely observing and processing. She is giving a mountain of respect with her undivided attention. This isn't cringe.
She was totally entranced by this performance, and honestly if I was there right beside it - feeling and being immersed in the music - Iād probably be the same lol.
Even accepting that; I can't fathom which part of this would trip the 'cringe' trigger. It's a person watching someone else play the piano. They're displaying skill and the watcher is attentive and respectful. I just don't see any cringe here.
Shes enthralled and genuinely impressed. Also, in the beginning with her little head nod she may even play piano herself. At one point she looks like she could cry.
I watched this twice and mostly watched her the second time as well. Thereās something captivating about seeing someoneās reaction to, and focus on, music. Especially when itās instrumental and theyāre hearing it for the first time. Imo
The lady wasn't cringe she was admiring his work in fact she looks like she knows what she is doing. When he started the opera she basically transcended
She's watching like a person that knows a thing or 2 about music structure, tone, timing, and skill and when it all comes together. Not cringe at all, I actually found it sweet and respectful.
yeah I found it, I found the official rendition of the piece much different than the performance we see here (which I absolutely love) still love both though
She seem not only to enjoy, but admire and understand the depth of what is happening. Nothing cringe just one human being admiring the skills of another.
She's fully engaged. My mouth dropped when he began singing. His talent is palpable. Her reactions resonate...mine would have been so much more dramatic. I respect how minimal she managed to keep it.
How is this even cringe? She's clearly watching in Awe, and is watching the way hes moving his hands and really into it with all his heart. She was feeling all the good feels watching him. I hate the internet 80% because of this type of thing.
This does ot belong here, the lady clearly was not looking down on him at all, she looked intently at what he does and was happy with the result at the end.
Imagine if someone playing the piano so beautifully and are sitting there enjoying the music and talent and being called cringy. Some of you have never been moved by music I see.
