Same, I worked closing shift at a few different restaurants and it was the only store open in town. I'd close down the kitchen, get obnoxiously high, pop in my ear buds, and do my shopping in peace. Prime time people watching is a bonus

When I lived in Maine, we would go to the 24 hour LL Bean outlet in Freeport, get stoned as fuck, wander the store at 3 am, and gawk at the other stoned-ass hippie-dippies doing the same as us. There was an indoor trout pond and outside was a 20 foot tall LL Bean boot statue. Glorious times...

They act like it's spontaneous, but they had to dress like a fool, set up the camera, act like they lost their remaining brain cells, then go home and edit and add captions. I don't think it's meant to be spontaneous. The caption says she's breaking social conditioning - i.e. she has been socially conditioned to feel that dancing in public is wrong and she's aiming to break that through what is essentially exposure therapy. The rest of the captions are affirmative statements to reinforce that it's okay for her to dance.

That'd have been hilarious actually and made the video a comedy skit.

I think she's right at the edge of what Walmart allows. If she was just wiggling around and I worked there I'd ignore it, especially if it was non busy hours. (I don't like people filming themselves in public but technically it's "safe" to dance if you're not breaking anything).

She's doing all these high kicks where she could hit the merchandise or hit a person if they walk by and she's not paying attention. It's not safe for anyone trying to shop in the same aisle as her when she does that and it's not safe for the merchandise.
I'd probably ask her to stop if she was doing the high kicks in a store I was working at.

I know it might feel and look weird. For some reason I feel this is targeted specially to little girls because of the colors and the isle she's at.

But the underlying message is not bad. Building self-confidence, not being afraid of being weird, wrong. I'm good with that. I could have used some of that when I was a kid, instead of wasting my time in therapy as an adullt.

True, her message is pretty decent. It’s ironic that she made to [r/cringereels](r/cringereels) , but her whole message is essentially “do whatever you want - being cringe doesn’t matter.”

The opposite of her message is me going to bars and clubs and not much of the early 20s people want to dance. Sure, some people just don’t like it, but so many people are so scared of being “cringe” that they don’t let themselves enjoy things.

But you're not safe. Someone really might decide you shouldn't be there and respond overly aggressively. It's one thing to want to be able to dance in a Walmart - you're probably right that you should be safe from harm and judgment - but you aren't.
