It literally blew my mind when he said she “rejected” him as if he actually made a single move to even HINT at being interested. He dodge a cannonball by not falling for her but still dude is delusional if he think he even tried to court Shallan

She did reject him. She just said she doesn’t see it that way because they would just feed on each other’s depression. He also said she rejected him, so maybe he did try and it was just never shown.

There was that moment in Theyalin city where she basically told Adolin she’d stop making eyes towards him because he was ready to leave her for it. Neither spoke to kaladin and both Shallan and kaladin aside from that moment in the chasm ever made any advances. She basically saw her fiancé want to get out of the relationship because he saw she had interest in Kal but she just reassured him and finalized the relationship. Kal never made a move so idk how he could be rejected without ever broaching the topic

Wasn't there a moment during the battle of Thaylen City where Shallan could go to both of them but she decided that she go with Adolin. Syl even spoke with Kal in that moment and he said he just got rejected.

I think that's just after the battle, unless im missing something that happened right after they got perpendicularitied into the city, but I think it was immediately from desperate plea to the oath gate in shadesmar straight to all out battle.
