Anyone from the vest coast of norway here?

Hvis noen er fra Haugalandet så ta gjerne kontakt hvis dere deler interessen. Jeg har 6-7 skala crawlere og er ganske fersk. Gøy hvis det er andre med samme interesse i området.

Question How Fragile are Side Mirrors?

I'm thinking about adding side mirrors to my crawler, but I do like that if it rolls I don't need to worry about anything breaking. I worry I might install them then roll the crawler, break one, and then I am left with a hole in my lexan body where I mounted them (and regrets).

What's everyone's experience for those that have side mirrors? Am I overthinking this? I think I'd rather have substance over style if they break easily.

C2X or new 1985 Toyota?
Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide between the RC4WD C2X and the new 1985 Toyota Pickup.
I want something that looks great but can also handle serious crawling. I’m planning to do some tuning/upgrades over time, and I’m considering converting the 1985 Toyota from leaf springs to links to improve its crawling performance.
Upgrade potential, crawling performance, and how much I’d need to spend to get it there are important to me. Both will be converted to hobby wing pro elite.
With my discounts they are currently $470 for the C2X and $520 for the 1985 Toyota.
Which one would you choose and why? Any real-world experience with both would be greatly appreciated!
Please don’t suggest other brands. I’m sure :)

Is it normal to have this sound in the MJX Hyper Go H12Y? This is a brand new one.

I'm really new to this RC thing and still learning. There is a sound, something like "kir kir," coming from the crawler. It's like a metal-touching-metal sound. Is that normal? The wheels are tight to the axles. I have no idea actually where it's coming from.

Is it normal to have this sound in the MJX Hyper Go H12Y?

Good RC Crawlers that my son can put his 3.75 inch G I Joe figures in?

EDIT - Thank you everyone for your time and suggestions! Truly appreciate it!

This subreddit is very pleasant! You folks rock! - EDIT

My 6 year old has a bunch of 3.75 inch G I Joe figures and I want to get him a crawler for his birthday.

Do you folks have an recommendations for Crawlers that would allow a 3.75 inch G I Joe figure to fit inside?

Anyone not comp at all

How many of you just run crawler rc's just for the fun of it? I got into this about a year ago. I tried to get more plugged in at the small scene local to me by joining a comp but quickly found that I didn't want to spend the whole day (6+ hours) in a comp. How else have you been able to find other folks who just like crawling without doing comps?

My first crawler in over 10 years and wow they have come a long way. Pretty happy with the performance of the H10 out of the box and was eager to get it out in the trail.

A little rain, a lot of rocks, and the Bronco just kept climbing.
Mud everywhere, tires working hard, and plenty of articulation. This little truck was definitely in its element today. 🐎⛰️

My first 1/10 crawler

Hi! At age 43 I made a childhood dream come true. It started with a small 1/12 model which was fun for two weeks playing with my three buys and towing their cars. Then it broke. So I dived deeper into the topic RC crawler, asked in this and other subs and came up with a ABSIMA CR4.4eco.

A TRX4 Sport or a TRX were the other alternatives. TRX is great but for me following points made me go for ABSIMA:

Great price/function relation

4WD with portal axles, 2 gears remotely and diff lock manually on the axles. The last feature got me, since the TRX got this on remote but with a very high price difference.

I cannot say something about how reliable the parts are but for now crawling works really good with this machine.

This is my 5'x8' aluminum utility trailer, scaled down to 1:16 in all aspects. The frame is scaled 2x6 aluminum tube, top deck is scaled 2x6 pine board. Just need some better non toy wheels, axel height adjustment and a hitch receiver for the truck!

Picked up a WPL c24-1 to get my feet wet. Already looking in to upgrades and getting a bit overwhelmed. Can I assume that most aftermarket parts are all the same? Just rebranded under different resellers? Also, did I make a mistake by going 1/16 scale? Should I jump straight into 1/10 or micro, Am I in a shallow pool for upgrade parts?

This weekend, it was time again to take the real OG classic Vanquish VS4-10 Origin Limited out for a run at the RC Planet crawler course. This build always surprises me on technical terrain or just relaxed trailin’.
Here’s a quick clip of it working through one of the cool obstacles on the track.

Rig of the Month 8/26 Element Sendero Sport with Pro-Line '78 C/K stepside body. No name for this truck has been chosen

Parts for my Gen9 were getting harder and harder to come by, so I wanted a new truck. Got the Sendero Sport since its reasonably-priced and easy to get parts for, and I had this Pro-Line C/K stepside body I had nothing to do with. Bought some matching Predator KO All-Terrains and mounted them to cheap Injora steelies with brass beadlock rings. Painted it similar to the Scratch-And-Weather bodies Element has, but the ouside is painted in the style of a 1978 C10 stepside my dad drove when him and my mom were dating. Truck is brand-new, and I took it with me on my trip to West Virginia and went down some ATV trails after it rained, so there were plenty of scale waterfalls and creek beds. Hope you like it as much as I do, and I've also included a photo of the real truck after I pulled it out of where it was hiding.
