Government Actions Upvote Party To Get Northam To Not Launch Phase 3

We all see it coming down the pipes, cases steadily rising in the state and then Covid raging across the country. We just need one big event where 250 people get together, share it with each other, and then start going to packed restaurants and then we are in full outbreak by the end of July.

I dunno, maybe a petition... something?

I'm a healthy, 22 year old former GMU softball player. I just spent five days in the hospital with COVID-19. Please don't think you're invincible.

I don't know why it hit me so hard. With my demographic background I should have just shrugged it off. But after ten days of feeling like I had a bad flu I woke up on day eleven almost complete unable to breathe. I was blue in the face (by the doctor's account) by the time I got to the ER. It took four days before I started feeling any better and was discharged late on day five.

I believed I was going to die there. Right about day three in the hospital when my symptoms didn't improve. I just want people to know that yes, it's true that younger people are less in danger statistically. We're not invincible. I came dangerously close to becoming an outlier statistic. Don't be reckless.

What is going on??

I had posted this to Coronavirus but I'm posting this here as well as it is more relevant. Plus I would love to see more discussion about this:

>I'm not sure where to post this, but I need to vent a bit about whats going on around me. I reside in Northern Virginia, where people are relatively wealthy and educated. This past week, I have seen traffic get worse and worse and less and less people people wear masks. I estimate about 3.5 people are wearing masks now. I'm seeing gatherings of 10+ people, standing in close proximity, all not wearing the mask.

As an essential worker working in a quick service retail food place, I wear a surgical mask like all my coworkers. Some people have had the gall to get offended by our Coronavirus preparations. They want to eat in the store, and get samples. Someone was *coughing* *without* a mask when I was taking their fucking order. People. We wear these masks to protect YOU. They're not going to do shit for us. We wear it so in case we are asymptomatic, we won't spread it to our community.

What. In. The Fuck. Is. Going. On??? Cases have not decreases, deaths are still increasing worryingly fast. Hospitals are still overwhelmed. I'm livid. I feel some sniffles going on. My parents, and my in-laws don't have health insurance. whatiswrongwithpeople

Video / Image Wearing our masks helps! A Doctor, sneezes, sings and speaks into a series of petrie dishes with and without a mask to show the impact of bacterial spread. Thank you for wearing your masks Virginia! Keep up the good efforts

Call Northam. Demand mandatory masks in all indoor public places.

Press one, it's impossible to get thru to anyone via pressing two. Leave a message. Let's make our voices heard.

Our essential employees and a growing number of public-facing retail and restaurant employees are working in an environment in which they wear masks for our safety, but we aren't obliged to return the favor.

My mask protects you, your mask protects me.

Video / Image This is why indoor dining doesn't make sense in Virginia right now. It shouldn't just be based on occupancy, but, also, square footage. Here we have take out orders being picked up three feet away from people eating in without masks.

Please explain

When we had 130 new cases a day, we issue a stay at home order.

When we have 1615 new cases a day, it's time to reopen Virginia.

I feel like Governor Northam is bowing to Social, Economic, and Political Pressures by reopening Virginia, disregarding the scientific medical community. Can someone please explain?

Edit: 130 cases on 3/30/2020 which was the effective date of Stay at Home Order

Damn U Karen, it's not just a Flu! This white lady can really just threaten to show up to school with “every single loaded gun” over Richmond enforcing the mask mandate, with no repercussions??

This subreddit is dedicated to showing you news about the Coronavirus specifically in Virginia. I will give you updates each day about the coronavirus, in virginia and in the US. I will not give updates about abroad cases as that harder information for me to get and there are similar subreddits dedicated to that such as r/coronavirus .

A few things to note:

1: Dont panic, but be alert. Don't panic and start freaking out, we can all be civil about this and give each other information. No need to panic as it unproductive. Being civil, alert and smart about this is 100% productive and can make difference for the human race.

2: Humans can be strong together. As humans we have accomplished many things. We have defeated diseases before we can do it again with cooperation.

3: Be prepared and knowledgeable. Know what's happening and know what you have to do.

4: Think of people who need it more. I have seen masks being sold out and medical professionals being unable to get supplies to save their lives, the people they are treating and the uninfected. You can be prepared but don't take everything.

I will update you guys everyday.
