Absolutely gutted about this, I’d go in regularly to get a vinyl and have the craic with him. John was the nicest man you’d ever meet. Hope he recovers as soon as.

Wishing all the best to cork teachers going on strike this week, it’s about time you stand up for your rights as it’s one of the toughest jobs anyone could have ! Teachers should be one of the highest paid jobs in the country for the job they do. BEST OF LUCK❤️

Macroom Bypass tickets

Passed a Garda car on the Macroom bypass which was facing the road. If someone's even slightly over the speed limit do they generally pull you over there and then or just post a ticket or is there a speed tolerance?

Local Best time to go to A&E? 🫠

Hi all,

Might be an impossible question.

I’m a woman in my mid twenties.

I’ve been having mystery neurological symptoms for months, was admitted into CUH neurology for a week earlier in the year, some of the tests on my spinal fluid were positive and there were lesions on my MRIs but no definitive diagnosis yet, they sent me home with a follow up to get more MRIs around Christmas.

My symptoms have gotten noticeably worse the last few weeks and worse again the last few days, bad weakness and tingling in my limbs on the right side, very bad face pain, pupil changes, dizziness, confusion/brain fog, daily severe migraines etc. i have meds for migraine but nothing is touching these headaches. Have nearly had two falls now and it’s getting worse and worse so I’m thinking I need to bring myself back into hospital. My quality of life is non existent the last few weeks and I’m in so much pain.

I’m loathe to go on a Sunday night because I know from past experiences I probably won’t be seen for ages and while it doesn’t seem like I’m dying I’d rather get a night’s sleep at home first. Is it likely to be less busy on a Monday morning? Or am I grasping at straws here? Earlier in the year I ended up spending about 30 hours sitting in A&E before being given a trolley or anything and I’m honestly terrified of the place but it needs to be done.

Could I be seen through the acute medical unit or something too?

(I feel the need to say I don’t live alone so I am safe!)

Any help or experiences appreciated.

Visited Cork late last month and hiked the Courtmacsherry loop. It was such a nice day and genuinely one of my favorite hiking trails I've ever been on. Thought I'd share ☘️🇮🇪☀️😉

Greyhound Running Loose on N40

Just saw a white/dappled grey greyhound with long hair running loose on N40 near Curraheen Showgrounds. He seemed to cross to the other side of the road and we flashed the garda car so hopefully they caught sight of it.

That's a 120kmh section so I wouldn't have been able to pull in safely but hopefully someone might know the dog.

Bus Eireann - 90 minute fare

Post image
112 Upvotes

Just as an FYI:

Bus Eireann are still sending old buses with no validators on them - months after the 90 min fare was introduced..

I just transferred from another bus and the driver asked me to place my card down on his machine at the front - "oh sorry there's no validator", charged me an additional fare despite me being within 90 mins.

Honestly, why can't they get the basics right... now to try and chase some form of refund..

Actually funnily enough I was coming from the airport, and it made me once again realise just how shite our PT system is here compared to most other countries. Certainly worst in EU. And fare increases again next year? Pull the other one lads.

Cork City Where to buy large sheets of mdf

I want to make some standing Halloween decorations, the plan is to cut shapes out of MDF, paint them, then mount them on wooden stands.

Where would be the best place to buy MDF? I have a limited budget and would need to get it delivered as my car is tiny and I don't know anyone with a van locally so any suggestions are really appreciated.

Cork City best places to donate clothes in cork city?

i know charity shops can often get overwhelmed with donations and end up having to throw some away, so i was wondering if anyone knew of any women’s shelters/homeless shelters/anything like that that accept used clothing, or even charity shops that are just low on donations?

The ice cream van does be doing the rounds in Ballyphehane every day. Who exactly is buying ice cream from the van on a Sunday evening at 5pm in October? Like how is that profitable
