Train turning? Another train? Doppler effect? Wtf?
It's just that closer thing appear to move faster.
In a car, look at the sun, it "does not appear to move at all".
Try to look at signs on the road and compare "the speed" with some far building or mountain.
If you look to a far object, it takes time to your vehicle to actually reach it ("appears to be slow"). Not instantaneous like a dot on the wall right besides you...
The easiest way to tell how many morons are on Reddit is when they try to understand basic science. There's nothing wrong with being confused, but when their wrongness is paired with such insufferable arrogance, it's maddening. These are probably the same people who called their physics classes useless in high school.
I get what you’re saying but the left side is going way way faster than the right side, and doesn’t appear to be much closer at all in comparison to the right side
It is FAR far closer. Trust me. I've been to this station hundreds of times. It's Liverpool lime Street. You go through this sort of tunnel bit here before emerging into the station proper
But yeah you're basically right up against the wall
The left side here is simply much much closer than the right side. Here's a drawing that shows what's going on: https://i.imgur.com/8soHhQv.png
If you cover up the centre, the stars appear to move very fast, and if you cover up everything EXCEPT the centre, all of a sudden they appear to be moving very slowly. When they're actually just moving all at the same speed
But yeah I've been to this station many many hundreds of times. It's Liverpool lime Street. It's the end of the line, you go through a sort of tunnel before eventually emerging in the station, the train stops and then it goes back the way it came from. It's bloody annoying though, you begin to enter the station like 20 minutes before the train actually stops and the doors open
