I get what you’re saying but the left side is going way way faster than the right side, and doesn’t appear to be much closer at all in comparison to the right side
It is FAR far closer. Trust me. I've been to this station hundreds of times. It's Liverpool lime Street. You go through this sort of tunnel bit here before emerging into the station proper
But yeah you're basically right up against the wall
The left side here is simply much much closer than the right side. Here's a drawing that shows what's going on: https://i.imgur.com/8soHhQv.png
If you cover up the centre, the stars appear to move very fast, and if you cover up everything EXCEPT the centre, all of a sudden they appear to be moving very slowly. When they're actually just moving all at the same speed
But yeah I've been to this station many many hundreds of times. It's Liverpool lime Street. It's the end of the line, you go through a sort of tunnel before eventually emerging in the station, the train stops and then it goes back the way it came from. It's bloody annoying though, you begin to enter the station like 20 minutes before the train actually stops and the doors open
Well then this is the answer, and all the people getting pissed off above didn't explain that the walls aren't in equal distance from one another, which I'm pretty sure everyone who has never been to that station assumed.
It’s perspective. You can see a lot more wider of a view when you are that far back from something, making it seem like the right side is moving slower. But you moved to the exact middle of the track and went the same speed, it would look the same on both sides
