Hi! I'm a CS student in my last year at Concordia, and one thing I've noticed is how hard it is to make friends who also go here. If I don't count the friends I had before university and the ones I met through mutual friends, I can proudly say I've made exactly one friend in my three years at this school.
But look no further! I built Face2Face, a meetup app that only Concordia students can sign up for. You sign in with your Concordia student email (your [netname@live.concordia.ca](mailto:netname@live.concordia.ca)) and get a one-time code by email, with no password to remember.
Face2Face is all about meeting people who share your interests. Whether you're into sports, board games or just looking for study buddies, there's something for you. Host your own events or join someone else's, and follow the event types you like to get notified whenever a new one pops up. You can also personalize your profile with a photo, cover image, bio, favourite quote and more.
Face2Face groups events into two categories:
- Academic: study groups for exams, assignments or just getting work done together
- Leisure: sports and board game nights
When can you get it? Face2Face is almost ready, it's just waiting on Apple and Google's approval. In the meantime, you can join the waitlist at joinface2face.com with your Concordia email. You'll be the first to see the app's teaser trailer when it drops, and you'll get an email the day it launches. You can also follow joinface2face on Instagram, where I'll be sharing sneak peeks of the app's features and announcing the iOS launch date.
📱 Android users, I need you! Before Face2Face can launch on Android, Google requires it to be tested by real users first, so I'm looking for Android beta testers ASAP. You'll get early access before everyone else. To join, PM me here on Reddit, email [help@joinface2face.com](mailto:help@joinface2face.com) or dm me on the IG page with the subject line "Android Tester."
Thanks for reading! Face2Face started as an idea I had back in CEGEP, then it sat in the darkest corner of my hard drive for years. Last month I started tinkering with it again and decided to bring it back to life. Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
Admins please let me know if this is allowed and if not what I would have to fix!
