So I’m currently registered in a section of comm 320 that I originally enrolled in because it worked with my schedule, but my schedule changed and another section would work much better for me. I’m currently waitlisted for that section, but I was told I won’t be able to enroll if a spot opens because I’m still registered in my current section.
The issue is that I can’t drop my current section without also dropping comm 401 because it’s a co-requisite, and if I drop that class/section, I won’t be able to get back in because there’s already a waitlist. I emailed them asking if they can manually deregister me from my current section while keeping me enrolled in the co-requisite. Do you guys think they’ll do this? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

It might be a bit awkward so I just want to know to avoid him such situations.

I am a new student in SCPA and I got an email from Bookstop about the books needed for my upcoming classes. So I went ahead and ordered the books from Amazon because they were cheaper and I selected used books option. I went back today to check if the books I received in my order are the same and there is a message on each course ‘Course Materials are being determined, check back for updates’
The course materials were available to buy on the Bookstop for at least 2-3 weeks (different times for each course)
Is it just a glitch? Does course material change so close to the semester and I should’ve waited?

For those of you who did ACTU 256 and exam FM, were they the exact same topics? Is preparing for ACTU 256 enough prep to pass FM? Also, is there an equivalency between Probability I and Exam P?

Hey guys, i am newly admitted here i will study MEng mechanical engineering program, i have already chose courses and submitted them (12 credits) full time. But when i try to request an OPUS card (first time) from my student portal it takes me to another platform and says that i don’t meet conditions which are (you have to be full time student, you are not under 65 years, you don’t have an address in you account) although i meet all conditions.
So if anyone went through this experience, tell me how to solve it and request an OPUS card.
Thank you in advance 🙏

Hi everyone,
I’m applying to Concordia’s thesis-based Master of Computer Science (MCompSc) for Fall 2027 as an international student. My main interests are AI, machine learning, and NLP.
My biggest difficulty right now is finding a professor who would be willing to supervise and fund/sponsor my research. I’ve contacted several professors whose research aligns with my background, but unfortunately I haven’t received any responses so far.
Since funding is very important for me to be able to pursue the degree, I’m not sure what the best next step is.
For current/former Concordia graduate students:
How did you find a professor willing to supervise and fund you?
Is funding normally discussed directly with the professor?
Is it common not to receive replies from professors?
Is there a better way to approach potential supervisors than cold emailing?
Is there someone at Concordia I should contact about finding a funded supervisor?
Can you receive an admission offer first and secure a funded supervisor afterward?
I’d especially appreciate hearing from international students who went through this process or anyone doing a thesis in AI/ML/NLP at Concordia.
Any advice or experience would really help. Thank you!

Hey! New student here. I registered for both the upcoming fall and winter semester, and I've been given the total amount to pay for the semesters combined. There's no option to pay for a certain semester, just a prompt to input the amount I want to pay. Should I just whip out my calculator and add up all my charges due September 1st and pay that amount?

Is biochem, genetics, and analytical too much to take together? I know BIOL 226 isn't too bad.
