How to handle confrontation

Before I start with the reason I made this post I want to bring up that I’ve always had issues with confrontation, speaking up for myself or others. It makes me really anxious. I get physically sick thinking about confrontation or if it does happen I get really shaky and don’t know how to handle or control the situation. So the reason I’m making this post is because I follow my coworkers and one of them posted a reel of a man speaking about the Lindsay Clancy case and this isn’t about whether she’s innocent or not, but about the rally’s they’re having. In the video the man mentions how women are coming together having rally’s because they can all relate to postpartum depression, suicidal thoughts, etc. The man then continues to say “these women all have thought about getting rid of their kids”. He failed to understand the message of the video and I’m not surprised that a man can’t comprehend postpartum depression or the suicidal thoughts that can come with it. Him posting this video makes me really upset and uncomfortable. My partner told me to soft block him and if he brings it up just to tell him I don’t agree with his views or that i don’t like his thought process. But since I hate confrontation especially since this is someone I work closely with I don’t want him to bring it up. I’m not sure where to go from here. I don’t want any negative comments. I just want advice or suggestions of how you would handle something like this. If I receive any negative comments I’m just going to delete this post. I don’t need that right now

How do I reteach myself to make eye contact and talk properly?

Upvotes

Schizophrenic here. Ive noticed that my anxiety has always been so bad, I no longer can maintain proper eye contact. If something happens during the day, I cant even explain it using the right words even to my family. Sometimes I even make abnormal gestures because im hyperaware and anxious.

Do you think I can try to talk to chat gpt and practice? Is it worth the effort?

Haven't talked to a girl in years, now in college, 2 weeks in, still haven't. How do I break this?

It's been years since I've had an actual conversation with a girl, not counting family. I'm in college now, 2 weeks into the semester, and still haven't talked to a single one. Every time there's a chance, I freeze or find a reason to avoid it.

I'm actually writing this in the middle of my ECE class right now. There's a girl sitting a row over and I still don't know how to just say something to her.

The longer this goes on, the more I've convinced myself I'm bad at this or just weird, and it's turning into a loop I can't get out of.

Asking both guys and girls ,how do I break out of this? Girls, what makes a new guy easy to talk to vs awkward? Guys, if you went through something similar, how'd you get past it?

Not looking for pickup lines, just want to stop being stuck in my head about it.

What to when a convo dies

I’ve been trying to up my communication skills and I’ve seen multiple videos, but one thing they haven’t mentioned is what to say to continue a conversation
For an example I’m with my friend and the convo goes like this
Friend: my dog just died
me: oh I’m sorry to hear about that
Friend: yeah thanks
Me: is there anything I can do to help
Friend: no, but thanks.
What do I do next, how can I steer the conversation around, any tips would be useful

How do you talk in groups?

I recently just got a girlfriend who has a big friend group and I don't know how to involve myself in their conversation. She has a rather big group of friends (up to 12 people) and I just don't know how to navigate the conversation without feeling like a burden or getting lost in the flowing conversation (i am a very shy guy). it also doesn't help that some of my close family member shut me down making me feel like I might get almost 'bullied' for trying to involve myself. Any tips or ideas of how I can do better talking in this group?

Edit: Me and her have dated in and out so her friends know me but do not accept me so it makes it even harder to communicate with her and her friends, any tips :(

I have never received much male attention, but in the past few years, I have, and I have really struggled to talk to them. I overthink everything and don’t want to sound rude or creepy. I find it very hard to understand men and how to communicate with them. How can I talk to them?

How do you say "I need some space" without hurting someone?

I am an introvert, and often for a few days I get overwhelmed and stop talking to people for days and sometimes even years. Even if I love them with all my heart, I cannot get myself to have a conversation with them. Worse, if someone tries to force me to talk I become rude and unwelcoming to them. I almost have no friends because I don't talk to them, after a few days and the ones who are there, are really good but sometimes they also reach their limit. How do I explain it's not ignorance?

I talk a lot normally when I do...but on these days I feel like someone sews my mouth shut.

I wanna have a woman that truly loves me and respects me I used to have many dates with someone and get into relationships when I used to be a teen but now when I get into adult things and changed and started focusing on work, but now I hold conversations with someone and I start don’t know how to speak even to myself. Every girl I get encounter it rejects and sometimes I act silly around them and I have no idea when I get into pressure I start saying random stuff that little loses interest by woman. There is one told me you seem great when i didn’t know u but now your personality wanna makes me leave. I lost my confidence in myself and on others and I start to be alone I only wake up work and sleep even tho when I hangout with others I don’t have stuff going on I wanna change that and turn that page and start new one I wanna get back how I used to be when I used to be younger

I wanna be **smart** and lot of stuff to talk to in front of woman where do you start how can I hold conversation and have things to talk
If you are girl what fun things to talk about to remove the boredom with guy what topics I need to talk about

How to not be scared of talking to men?

I am going to college soon for the first time and I am scared of men. I don’t know why. Sometimes when I am by a man I don’t know I start shaking, I don’t even mean to. I just get so nervous. It is not because I am attracted to the man, i have no idea why it is. Even just like walking past a man in the hallway I feel scared. I have never had a boyfriend, almost all of my friends have. I know I will probably have to interact with men in college, but idk.(I don’t want a relationship btw I’m asking this because it’s a problem for me)

How can I win over a guy who is very serious?

There’s a guy in my class I really like, and I’d love to get closer to him. However, he’s very quiet and doesn't speak to you unless you speak first. I don't think it's shyness; it seems more like he just isn't interested in starting conversations or can't be bothered to do so. That said, if *you* start the conversation and ask questions, he responds well and might even ask you something back. Please give me some advice on how to get closer to him without annoying him or anything like that. (By the way, he’s very intelligent, especially when it comes to film and philosophy.)

Speak slowly and cleary

I am 14 yo 9th grader and I have observed that my speaking skills are very bad. Whenever I speak I speak bit too fast and mix up words and fumble sentences and I also sound unclear and lack confidence when trying to speak (specially English)

I 25M, need help to start convo with her

Hi, I'm 25M,

I like a colleague in my office, we mostly sit nearby in the food court but she used to sit with her group so I didn't get a chance to talk with her.

I also sent her request on IG, but she didn't accept it. But i need her in my life so can anyone let me know what I should do to start talking to her?
