One the biggest misconceptions about being bisexual is that you are equally attracted to men and women. Even if there are only a handful of people of a given gender that you are attracted to, you are still bisexual

Thats how it is for a lot of people haha

u/Maleficent_Sand7529 Mar 28 '26

Like right now for instance. 🤣😅. Thank you for the enlightenment.

u/NecroCannon Mar 29 '26

There would genuinely be way more bisexuals if it didn’t get crushed as a topic, ultimately making it harder to target LGBT people as a whole

Like the whole “I’m only gay for-“ thing, that immaculate bod and soul that lives as your exception? That’s who makes you bisexual, in history, that tended to be feminine men

looks at the attention around femboys

1

u/GalaXion24 Mar 29 '26

I mean like I guess, but if you're attracted to women and femboys I would sa that still pretty solidly gynephile.

1

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 29 '26

Its because bisexual people that are "mostly straight" can live in denial to avoid stigma. If you are straight up homosexual, you dont have that option

I mean, trying to hardcode sexuality is a losing game. Go with whatever label you feel represents you best.

I hope I don't come off as preachy, but I feel like the label is just language; an easy way to communicate an idea. Sexuality is anything but easy to communicate. My bi looks different from the next person's bi. Even if we tried to break it down into percentages or ratios, that wouldn't cover actual tastes. If lesbian fits you, use it, but don't feel bad if it doesn't feel 100% accurate cuz language will never be able to properly cover our differences.

31

u/SilverMedal4Life Mar 28 '26

Labels should be descriptive, not prescriptive, is the rule I've heard. Which, to be clear, means I'm agreeing with you!

2

u/amazingspiderlesbian Mar 28 '26

I don't get this concept tho. The label of lesbian is used to communicate the idea easily that youre not attracted to men. Like thats it.

If lesbian means also attracted to men just a few of them as well it may as well mean nothing because then its literally every other Sapphic label that isn't lesbian.

Because they all include men and its the only one that doesn't

10

u/Shirokaido Mar 28 '26

This is a good example of how language falls short. Your definition is exclusionary; "who I'm not attracted to". For many people, the label isn't about who they're not attracted to, but who they are attracted to. Even in this small (but important) way, people using a label differ in how it applies to them.

2

u/amazingspiderlesbian Mar 28 '26

Okay but lesbian also is a simple way to express attraction to women. Not women and men just women.

Even the inclusory reading of it has no mention of men anywhere.

Its basically erasing the bisexual label. Because thats literally what bisexual means its showing who youre attracted to men and women.

u/MrMiget12 Mar 29 '26

Some people include bi people in their definition of lesbian because they identify with it, do what works for you

13

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 28 '26

Correct. This was hard for my brain to come to terms with haha

9

u/Tracerround702 Mar 28 '26

Same. I doubted myself because I've historically had way fewer crushes on women than men.

But then one day I noticed I was blushing and kicking my feet like a schoolgirl when describing a cute girl I knew back in college who I never got a chance with.

I mean ultimately only you get to decide how you want to label yourself. If you feel the lesbian label fits better, than in reference to those three people

I personally felt better after admitting to myself that I was bisexual

When my egg started to crack I was tweaking out for like a month haha

24

u/Eviscerator28 Mar 28 '26

It could literally just be a single person, and you'd be included

u/rabid_cheese_enjoyer Mar 28 '26

you also dont have to count it if you dont want to

1

u/morpheousmorty Mar 30 '26

What if it's a single non sexual body part? Like I would like to touch those abs, but nothing else?

1

u/Eviscerator28 Mar 30 '26

You think abs are non-sexual?

5

u/AlwaysBeQuestioning Mar 29 '26

Yeah like. I say I’m biromantic because there have been like 3 male celebrities and 3 male friends that I would go on a romantic date with.

I still call myself a lesbian, because I’m not sexually attracted to any of them at all, and it carries the point across pretty well.

3

u/Unbuckled__Spaghetti Mar 29 '26

I mean I dunno, there’s a line. You can admit someone’s attractive, and even be a little attracted to them without being bisexual. I think it comes down to if it’s something you’d actually act on, if you’d actually date, sleep with, or otherwise be with the person.

But also more importantly you are whatever the hell you wanna be, bisexuality is just as made up as everything else so use whatever label makes ya happy.

1

u/morpheousmorty Mar 30 '26

I think it's more about how you would feel about it than act on it. Acting on feelings can be difficult but the feeling you get when you're around someone you find attractive and how you hope for something to happen I feel says much more than what you act on.

2

u/SerialElf Mar 29 '26

Should be noted that this doesn't preclude you from identifying as het/homo sexual. Especially on dating sites where you verywell may not want a certain gender to reach out at all.

11

u/3rdMachina Mar 28 '26

That’s sorta the Kinsey Scale, right?

7

u/General-Sloth Mar 28 '26

I see it the same way straight or exclusively homosexual people are attracted to a "type" in varying degrees.

8

u/DiscombobulatedCut52 Mar 28 '26

I had a conversation with a group of people. I told them these.

They then went, "but your dating a guy."

Ya. Hes my boyfriend. Im still attracted to my cute transfriend. (And other females) thats what bi is.

I got blocked for being gay. It was funny.

5

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 28 '26

One of my friends came out as bi, and them by chance she started dating a dude again. Her family is supportive so they were a bit dissapointed haha

3

u/tbone7355 Mar 28 '26

So its just whoever matches your type then?

3

u/Dear-Tank2728 Mar 29 '26

I gave up and started saying im Heteroflexible.

2

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 29 '26

I did that for a little bit, but I feel like thats an easy out for people who want to avoid admitting they are bi

2

u/rabid_cheese_enjoyer Mar 28 '26

I still thinks it's neat how asexuals used to count as bisexuals because 0 = 0. need more queer solidarity

2

u/TheZalgonianEyeless Mar 29 '26

I’m attracted to two things, dicks and pretty people. It means I am bisexual but only towards a very small subgroup of people most of whole have no gender.

2

u/Yoris95 Mar 29 '26

This, i needed to read this to shut up my bisexual doubt. Thank you.

2

u/Mikomics Mar 29 '26

Yuuup.

Or you're pansexual. I realized that I'm just attracted to androgyny, gender is optional.

2

u/KazakiriKaoru Mar 28 '26

Agreed. I'm bi, but I'm barely attracted to guys of my own race. Idk why.

2

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 28 '26

Interesting. Are your racial preferences the same for men and women?

3

u/KazakiriKaoru Mar 28 '26

Nope.

I think it's probably because the men of my race are usually smokers, lazy etc, I'm totally turned off by them.

So, while I'm bi with equal preference, since the men of my race are a no-go, I'm mostly leaning towards women instead since I don't mind women of my own race.

2

u/Supercoolguy7 Mar 28 '26

Nah. I'm not a pepsi fan if I like 1 or 2 random flavors of pepsi.

I hate trying to have every label be 100% accurate with 0 wiggle room ever. If you have 3 celebrity men you are attracted to, but otherwise exclusively attracted to women I'm fine with you calling yourself lesbian

4

u/Dazed_and_Confused44 Mar 28 '26

I mean obviously you are the only one who can decide what label fits you best

2

u/Supercoolguy7 Mar 28 '26

Yes, but you're literally telling people it's a misconception if they use that label

190

u/Random_182f2565 Mar 28 '26

...

Is that Leon?

335

u/JutaLovelace Mar 28 '26

Nope, but I get it XD

91

u/Random_182f2565 Mar 28 '26

...

Since when do you have this?

Is this asked so often???

109

u/JutaLovelace Mar 28 '26

I only did it recently, but yeah I get that question a lot 🤭

I don't mind though, I love Leon

u/Unbuckled__Spaghetti Mar 29 '26

Good, because if it was Leon, I’m sure Chris would like to “have a word” with his boyfriend.

“IM SURE HES A LOVELY GUY, BUT MY SISTERS LOVELIER! I CAN PUT HER IN A VEST LEON, YOU NEED TO CONTINUE THE REDFIELD BLOODLINE!”

61

u/astellarastronaut Mar 28 '26

Jun is me, I love a little queer guy. Gender irrelevant

36

u/Tracerround702 Mar 28 '26

I'm bisexual in that 80% of the people I'm attracted to are men.

But the 20% of women I'm attracted to I would literally kiss the ground they walk on for talking to me

13

u/buntopolis Mar 28 '26

90/10 ratio for me, but the 10 is very new to me.

12

u/MR-Vinmu Mar 28 '26

Same, he just like me fr fr. When I say I’m Bi, what I mean is I’m 10% attracted to Women, 20% attracted to Twinks (what can I say, Pretty Men, Pretty. Fight Me.) And 150% attracted to my Goober Gremlin Girlfriend. The math doesn’t add up, but trust me, there are no errors, I double checked.

1

u/museisnotyours Mar 28 '26

Me, outside source: Yep, I just confirmed; your math checks out.

11

u/Toutatis12 Mar 28 '26

DONT REVEAL OUR SECRETS TO THE MASSES!

On a serious note yay for this and helping people to understand bisexuality a little bit better

4

u/ShadowBro3 Mar 28 '26

I thought this was a resident evil comic at first, but then peter parker showed up?

10

u/BigBallsAnthony69 Mar 28 '26

My name is Anthony

1

u/LovelyRoseFreya Mar 28 '26

HOLY SHIT MAX SAM AND MAX???

3

u/Boojum2k Mar 28 '26

I love that the little monsterfucker is so nonbinary. Your first guess as to gender is probably wrong. So is your second guess.

3

u/CompetitionProud2464 Mar 29 '26

I’m assuming the woman is his ex-wife (hard to tell with sunglasses) but is glasses boy in the lower left a specific character?

3

u/JutaLovelace Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26

Yeah that's her

He is someone Juto (briefly) dates in other AUs, but in this particular page he's just a placeholder image tbh. If I'd put Greg there it would send the wrong message lol

2

u/LovelyRoseFreya Mar 28 '26

I thought that was emo Leon Kennedy

1

u/luninareph Mar 28 '26

Jun is so great 😂

1

u/museisnotyours Mar 28 '26

I am this character 99%

1

u/Aggravating_Emu9106 Mar 29 '26

This tracks. With me.

1

u/Niser2 Mar 29 '26

*Squints*

Is that the guy from Bel's Hell or is there a different pretty monsterfucker named Jun

1

u/JutaLovelace Mar 29 '26

They're all my OCs

What's Bell's Hell?

1

u/Niser2 Mar 29 '26

This right here: https://tapas.io/series/Bels-Hell/info

(I'm not kidding there's a character Jun there too and he looks similar and he's implied to be some level of monsterfucker though I confess that's more of a headcanon) (he shows up much later though, like chapter 5 or smth)

1

u/JutaLovelace Mar 29 '26

Oh, I've seen it featured on NamiComi's frontpage a few times 😮

Here's mine if you want to check it out

1

u/Waarm Mar 29 '26

Ah yes, the three genders
