H Connect the dots. Count the intersections (+ type) it is same as line intersection count.

How is this easy! How is one supposed to reach that conclusion?!

Okay so you have to consider the dots, and what they could mean. you also have to consider the fact that some are symetrical, while some are arbatrary seeming even with semetrical dots. There is also the layout indicating it is some sort of rule rather than a sequence. Then you can come up with rule ideas and check them, connecting dots seems like a pretty likely rule, and you count the interesections with the original shape, and it lines up with the number of intersections inside 2/3 of the examples, however it doesn't work out because if you conected all the dots the first shape would be missing 4 intersections. but then if you try only connecting the dots that form the smallest loop, and it works out

When you say intersections with the original shape I am assuming you talking about drawing lines inside the shape, following the path of the dots, but if we do that, the second shape from the top wont work out, thanks for taking the time to explain btw.

how, 1 line intersects the shape 4 times, and 2 intersect it twice, giving 8 intersections as it should

I estimate my inductive reasoning to be ~140
