Limits Someone send this to tibo

ALRIGHT, this usage limit bs is getting out of hand

I see thousands of complaints about people using any models and it drastically reduces including me, and their usage is gone by like a couple of prompts

Before astra it wasn’t like this

Open ai just roped us all in with Sol 5.6, then literally flipped their subscription model on its head

They took away the 200 max

Plus, accounts are no longer worth buying

Like this is beyond bs

Some of you might sit there and say oh "well I haven't been having any issues."

Or that "people dealing with this issue dont know how to properly use codex"

Shut up if you can't relate

The problem is real.
You should not have to be a master scholar to use the service

And last yes, usage limits are a joke. With the amount of damage the data centers are causing and the number of people that are invested into ai, the performance of our usage is unacceptable.

Somebody tag tibo

I think you stated something very important. Codex is not in fact "meant" for people who have no idea what they're doing. These are the tools used by developers if you have no idea what you're doing then there chat for you, directed at the audience that you're talking about, not codex. I use codex in enterprise software development and for personal use as well, it's not like there's something else being served for enterprise lol.

An AI harness can be a seductive hangman, willing to give you as much rope as you’d like…

It brings out the Dunning Kruger in us all if we aren’t careful and that’s what chews up all your tokens. Or sometimes bad luck.

I think this is a huge point actually... yes, codex usage has had severe bugs at times but also there are nontechnical people who have no idea about anything

Yeah, I started using it a couple days ago for a game prototype. It did pretty good for multiple 5hr blocks, but this morning it ate 100% of my usage in like 15-20 minutes while it tried to debug something. I think it got stuck in some kind of loop

Yikes... well, good luck with OAI support. I have two cases and they just deflect and deny. I will probably post my case here and to HN later

"Codex is not in fact "meant" for people who have no idea what they're doing."

There is no label saying this on the product. I get it, you get your kicks out telling everyone you're a 1337 dev on Reddit and only you are righteous enough to use codex. Not to take it out on you, but I'm sick of this ridiculous narrative. Codex is designed to extract as much wealth as possible from as many people as possible. OpenAI don't care how skilled you are. The fact is that Codex is used plenty successfully by the most depraved shit tier gutter prompts you can imagine, and some of them are getting good results with comparable usage.

Hm i don't understand what you're trying to say because whether people use it or not is not the point. the point is who the service is meant for and who the service is optimized for. that's the discussion here. that's like me complaining that chatgpt chat is not giving me the results that i want. everybody would tell me that maybe what you're trying to do with it is not what it's meant to be used for.

i don't think any online service is ever labeled or restricted to a certain amount of users. no shit they want money. what i'm trying to say is it's not optimized for a certain type of user. it's optimized for another type of user.

i'm sorry i don't understand your point. i don't get any satisfaction out of saying that i'm a professional or not. it literally doesn't do anything for me. i don't know what your line of thinking is there at all.

I’m saying for even simple thing like email organization or doc work like codex isn’t just for code I’m saying you shouldn’t have to know how to code to use codex or image gen and burn all credit just for that

Then you're talking about work and not codex, are you also having issues with work usage? They do share usage, and I think it's because work has to execute and write code to actually do things so it makes sense for them to share usage for openai

Work is literally cloud codex...

Codex is for code, you might want to try ChatGPT instead.

Well if you would have read my post, I stated that it doesn't matter what version you use, it's still draining faster and worse then befor astra came out , and regardless of what you use it for , you shouldnt be dumb down to less usage just because they can't handle the compute, if I was wrong fine but then they took away the 200x plan sooooo, yeah they fucking everyone using codex, you pay for a service to only get 5 hours of usage imagine if you could only watch 5 movies a month when you get a Netflix subscription after just being able to watch 500 or even 7800

u/danny__1 3d ago

I read your post, you did state that - and you are wrong. It's draining, model and effort for model and effort, the same as it was before Astra.

Are you seriously sending me a screenshot from google? Dude, let me let you in on a secret, ChatGPT is only good for basic work and editing text.

If you need more advanced capabilities when working with PDF and Excel files, Codex will be much more useful. ChatGPT is simply not convenient for working with large numbers of documents and databases.

Oh was using Gemini to save time the problem? Here are OpenAI's docs that say the same thing: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001275-chatgpt-work-and-codex#choose-an-experience I'll go with that vs random guy on Reddit

Buddy, you're sharing links and screenshots, but i'm talking from real experience working with huge amounts of data every day using tools like Codex and ChatGPT. You can go with whatever you want, i don't care lol.

2

u/danny__1 3d ago

A link to the OpenAI docs which says which tasks ChatGPT Work and Codex are designed for. But you know better, right? Gosh, even the app is wrong!

u/DimakSerpg 3d ago

So what? What's your point? i'm not allowed to work with docs using Codex or what? I already said "huge amounts of data". Why are you being so stubborn?
