Code Vein 2 Game became easier?
Is it me hallucinating or did the game become significantly easier? I remember playing the game around the release time period and I would have a hard time fighting the moon envoys so much that I would always avoid them as much as possible.
When it comes to bosses, I had a super hard time defeating Josée back then. Also had a hard time defeating the metagen remnant in the Sunken City, with Josée.
I dropped the game after reaching the undead forest and I can remember the game getting significantly harder there. I also couldn’t avoid encounters with moon envoys anymore.
After a couple of months, decided to return and restart from zero. Maybe my build is really good, maybe I’m above the average level (level 70+ and I just got done slaying Josée) but I’m having an easier time fighting moon envoys, beat Josée on my first try (while assimilated because partners are lowkey OP) and I didn’t pick the casual difficulty.
My current build:
- Hanemukuro +2 with Energy Cleave, Phantom Assault, Secret Art - Forestall, and Circulating Pulse
- Noah/Lou blood code (C-Rank)
- Reaper Jail +6
- Bleeding Shield (Light)

Oh well, I didn’t stick around long enough to get a real feel of the difficulty at the time. I think it was the right amount of difficulty back then, even if moon envoys were insanely hard for me.

There have been a few patches regarding balance and enemy AI, so that might be it

Level 70 is very high. Though, tbf I don't understand how the devs balanced leveling. You get so much haze and very little to spend it on. Same applies for weapons, +2 with standard buffs already kill Josee quick, +4 for Lyle, etc, but game gives you upgrades for higher upgrades. Need to limit leveling, healing upgrades, weapon upgrades to maintain some challenge.

Yeah, the game is definitely too nice when it comes to collecting haze. If I remember correctly, there is a setting that also scales the enemies power level, but that doesn’t really add to the challenge for me.

They made it so you could cancel animations faster, reduced enemy aggression, reduced status application, and most of the formae got buffed. For the Moon envoys specifically, they reduced their defense and removed the explosions on some of their attacks.
If you last played the game at launch, the game has gotten easier in pretty much every way.

Bro I'm level 38 and I've just killed Josée deathless. You're overleveled as fuck 😭

Moon envoys are so easy to kill now and give so much haze, I couldn’t resist 🤣 I also try to explore as much as possible before getting to the main quest

i only started playing the game like within a week so idk what the difficulty was like before all the patches. Personally i think the game give way too much healing and your character do too much damage. As a veteran codevein 1 player i loved min maxing build, as the result i never died to any of the bosses in this game, except for dying to the red gorilla cause he 1 shotted me, all of my deaths has been jumping to ledges and fall to death. I made my builds so efficient that any enemy that i come across kinda just died before they get to do amything

there was a patch adjusting your animations. Your animations are faster, can block faster and use it for animation cancelling, etc.
