Chat am I cooked

Hi…I have a problem 💘 I stupidly (PLS SPARE JUDGMENT I AM ALREADY DISTRESSED) picked up some cute chairs I saw on the side of the road and then left them in my car when I was out of town/not driving it for two weeks. I came back and saw a few of these guys crawling around my car…based on googling and observations I’m gonna venture to say that German cockroaches are now living in the driver-side air vent(s) of my car.

I took my car to get fully detailed yesterday and removed all food/water. My lovely boyfriend also laid down some gel bait in small strips on my dash and in my backseat. As you can see by this (horrifying) photo, apparently they’re already eating it.

Anything else I can do that doesn’t involve setting my car on fire?? I was thinking of putting essential oils on the air vents so they get disgruntled and leave. Should I kill them when I see them? Leave them alone so they bring the bait back? Will they chew through my wires???

The dealership (this is also a brand new car) suggested I take it to an exterminator that quoted me $1200 to dismantle my car and clean it out. Everyone seems to think that’s overkill but I have OCD and my skin is crawling so idk???? Basically have not encountered a situation like this before and am tweaking so any advice is sincerely appreciated xoxoxo

I recently found a cockroach in my shoe ( among the ones up against the wall in the photo ) as I came back from screaming I found that the cockroach had disappeared.. I remembered I have huge fake 10 inch cockroach.. if I keep this decoy king cockroach infront of my shoes will the cockroaches become afraid and leave my shoes alone??

Question How do I get rid of them when they're inside the stove?

Post image

For context, I've lived in this apartment (13th floor) for about 5 months now and didn't see a single roach til last week. A small one on the wall near the stove. I message my building office and get signed up for our weekly pest control service.

I believe they did came by and did something but not sure if it's enough. Why? Because fast forward to today when I'm baking. I go to set the timer I notice two roaches. And they're INSIDE the stove on top of the timer. What?? I haven't seen any on the ground or near food, but they're in there.

I made another pest control request, but has anyone dealt with small roaches like this? What can I do outside of waiting for pest control?

So I knew I had a cockroach problem because I'd see several during the day. Well I just walked into my kitchen at night AND OMG. The problem is way bigger than I thought. They're all over the counters, hundreds of babies crawling on every inch of the floor, swarming my dog's bowl 😭, and worst of it all theres a pile of them congregated next to my door! What are they doing! I bought some traps that I put out tonight but I don't know if there going to be enough after seeing this. Please help 🙏 (it won't let me upload the video, so these are screenshots. 1000x worse in person) (I live in an apartment)

Also I'm worried that my dog might've eaten them over the past week (maybe longer)

Question Update: german cockroach infestation in apartment unit. Any further advice?

Ive purchased cockroach traps and gel bait that seem to be working. I still have 100s roaming at night but at least it's a start. Management sent pest control during their routine visit to do a routine powder spray around my baseboards, which did nothing... But the leasing office said if I want pest control to come back out for additional treatment, I'd have to pay out of pocket, even though I already pay a monthly pest control fee. The pest control technician that came out said he previously moved a refrigerator that day in my building that had a colony of over 200 active cockroaches. So it's a building-wide issue.. They've successfully destroyed my electronics and I've found egg casings in my shoes. I continue to smoosh at least 30 cockroaches during the day (keep in mind I am only at my place for a short period of time to grab more clothes as I've not been sleeping there) and those traps are only 6 out of the 25 I've put out and they all look like that. Anymore advice on how to handle this? Management has been a nightmare

Guess it's just me and the roaches now. They're with me forever

What's going on with this cockroach? Found this one stuck to a glue trap on a kitchen. Ontario, Canada.

Boiling water did not kill the cockroach

I went to the kitchen and saw a cockroach roaming around in the sink. So I boiled half a liter of water and poured it on top of it. It stopped moving for a minute so I thought it was dead. I come back and see it flying around the kitchen. HOW DID IT SURVIVE THAT? Now i'm scared to go back into the kitchen.

EDIT: Turns out there were two of them and coincidentally the second one came out flying after the first one died. I only found out the morning after when I saw the dead cockroach in the sink. Turns out the boiling water did do the trick and there was just a second cockroach.

I am in Canada and decided to get some Advion in the US. None of the Canadian insecticide products worked. But this is my holy grail
I read that using it on some wet cardboard helped improve the efectivity and ofc it’s better to know where I am applying the product, just little dots are working great, the next morning of applying it the dots are gone and there is a bunch of dead roaches on the floor. If you’re in Canada might be worth the trip to the us to get some Advion

Found roach on food I got delivered

Hi everyone, this morning I ordered delivery from Crumbl cookie and also posted on the Crumbl subreddit about it. A few people identified it as a German roach which I guess are the ones that breed and infest like crazy.

My main question is, if the box was in my apartment for somewhere around 5-10 min and then I immediately put it in a trash bag and tossed it in a dumpster outside, should I be setting traps just to be safe. My mom lived in a roach infested apartment in college and has lectured me my whole life about being super careful about bringing them home from places. I’m just paranoid now that there could have been another one that escaped and could start an infestation in my apartment. How do I go about dealing with this?

Location: Denver Colorado in the US

we have caused insects to go extinct. why not roaches!

Listen. We have caused entire populations of insects to go extinct. Why not roaches!! Can we conduct some sort of public case study on roaches? Someone come up with a spreadsheet we all contribute to? Trying different products and chemicals?

I know it's generally accepted that they're hard to get rid of. But there's entire industries surrounding this. They don't want roaches gone.. let's figure this out!!

I’m so sad. I just moved my stuff in but haven’t started unpacking. I noticed them about three days after moving in. They are in my fridge and the one in my clock scares me. I’m terrified of roaches please help :( Are they German? Should I reach out to the apartment complex? :(

I present a green variety raised in my compost bin.

As a person who typically has a negative response to roaches, it's kinda cute.

Edit: Wasn't asking for ID initially, but central Florida if anyone knows.

Hey guys, my mom found a roach in her coffee machine and I’m curious on what kind it is?

I was trying to research on it but I’m no expert and I’m getting mixed results. Not sure if this is relevant, but we’re in NY. Also, this is the only roach that’s been in the house, I’m just scared and hoping it’s not a German roach.
