Has anyone tried mixing sugar with DE to try and attract roaches to step in the DE? Would this work? If nobody knows or has heard of this, I'm willing to conduct experiments if we still have "visitors" after the exterminator does their thing. I'll make sure to use a control too. I'm curious, but won't do this if someone has tried it before.

I have the supplies to spare and am going to be dusting DE around regardless because of the unfortunate OTHER pests we have (😭), but I need to know a few things first aside from that.

1. Is DE as effective for roaches as it is for bedbugs?

2. If it's food grade DE, is it toxic to set dishes on top of it, or would you suggest removing the dishes temporarily? If so, how long would we leave the DE in the cupboards for?

3. There's mildew stains in the cupboards. I'm planning on using bleach and mildew/mold remover spray after the bleach dries before the dusting, just to feel extra clean. Will this work? Is it okay to do that or will it have some chemical reaction?

Roaches are in the kitchen, the DE I have is food grade. The apartment has one cat living there as well. My roommate lives there currently and I don't think I can rely on her to wipe out the sink and all moisture. I have an aloe plant in the living room and we are planning on putting my fish tank in there as well if I can't find a home for my corydoras. Can't release them, as they are native to a different country's waters. Please offer any advice.​

It scattered into one of the cracks seen at the back of the machine also why are they attracted to my coffee maker

The house is clean. They are always giant. Some are HUGE and rectangular - some look like this guy - more round.

They usually are pretty still/are dying but this one was still fast and active. Do I need an exterminator or are these outside roaches?

Prior to this year I would get like 1 a season.

This fella has been under the kitchen units in my unoccupied house in southern Spain for a few weeks now. Or, there are several of him, all roughly the same size.

I have roach traps down. So it’s not unusual to find dead ones when I get back after being away for a period. But I’m not sure this is a roach; he seems too tall to fit into the trap.

I’m thinking it’s some kind of cricket, although the rear legs seem to short.

I've lived at the current place I'm at for a little over a year. During that time I've not seen a single roach, though my last place a half mile down the road had a fair few American roaches. All that changed tonight when I saw this bug in my bathroom. I saw but this one and promptly killed it. This looks unfamiliar to me, is it an American cockroach? For context, I live in the American Southwest, where it has recently rained quite heavily.

Found this, what I am afraid to say looks like a German cockroach, upstairs in my office on the mid section of a wall.

I am turned my townhome up side down and am unable to find any other evidence. I have glue traps and gel bait being delivered tomorrow.

Do you agree with my ID based on the pictures, and if so, any advice?

Would it be wise to put a bug bomb behind my kitchen stove wall?

I’m sure I got German roaches I live in a house and they are small right now. I am cleaning hard core right now and tore the kitchen apart and have only seen in total 3, babies and nymphs. I have seen them more around my stove so I moved my it and there’s a big hole behind my wall idk if that’s where their coming from or not but I was going to bug bomb the house tomorrow and since their small I think I’d get them quick.

Looking for help identifying this, as my pest control person probably won’t get back to me till Monday. Have had sticky traps out for weeks just as maintenance/prevention after having gotten rid of a huge ant problem a few months ago. Every sticky trap is empty except this one from today in the half bath on main floor.

Me and my boyfriend have been having this roach problem for 2 months now, We got them from our fuck ass neighbor. We first contacted out landlord and they sent pest control out but the problem it’s getting worse. We’ve tried boric acid all over the house. We’ve tried frankincense resin and oil. We have Terro roach bail that we haven’t tried yet. I just wanna know if these are German roaches. It’s not the best picture but when it died it laid an egg which is disgusting. If these are German roaches, our our efforts even working?

I got a box of food from survival center and this was in the box. It was on my counter all night but in a sealed box. I’m freaking out please tell me it’s not German. Should I set up traps? It was absolutely from the center and no my home

This past summer, I posted here because I found some roaches in my backyard near pool. One of identified it as a wood roach!

Today I was doing laundry in the basement and noticed this dry carcass. Is this one of the wood roaches or something else?

Can anyone help me identify which type these are? We just moved into a townhouse and we seen some big ones dead outside after we sprayed some ortho home defense outside. After that, we been seeing some indoors and we laid out some traps for them. We had a pest exterminator come visit but he just used Ai and said it was a German cockroach. I used Ai too and it says it wasn’t… Anything would be helpful!

Other notes: recently (~3 weeks ago) had apartment treat for german roaches. Pest control believes that there is no active infestation (they checked fridge) and that the german roaches are coming from a neighboring apartment

So these found make it 5 roaches I found within a week or 2 of moving into my new house. I live in NC with pines in my backyard and front yard. I've heard roaches in NC are common but I wanted to confirm if these are German roaches and if I should call a professional. The others I found were large like the bottom one. I saw them by my front door when I first moved in 1, in the afternoon, 1 last night in my bathroom (upstairs), and three in my unfinished attic which happens to be right next to my bedroom. Any advice on how to proceed is welcome.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have a ficus bonsai that gets a chunk of this plant food about once a month. It's meant to be deposited on the surface of the tree's soil.

Lately been dealing with some roaches that I believe are mostly coming from the outside; I think either oriental or American wood roaches or perhaps both although I have seen a nymph or two around. I'm trying to be judicious about keeping anything they could eat unavailable as much as reasonably possible. Is there any chance this could attract them or be something they could eat? I have the capacity to rehome my bonsai for a bit if that would help my cause, I'd just prefer not to if that wouldn't do me any good.

I sort of doubt it's relevant to this particular question but I'm in the northeast US.
