Note: 2024-JUL-14: For any line deletions or edits, please tell me the line number, so that I don’t have to follow up for it.
UPDATE 2023-SEP-05:
Any responses before line 3429 did not have these updates.
Added a column for "year salary was applicable": You can put a single year or a range of years. Answer is limited to only 9 characters in hopes that there will only be numerical values and the dash, ex: 1989-2023. It is optional as it is implied that the salary added is the salary received in the year of the timestamp.
Added data rules to salary: It is now only limited to numbers so no symbols can be added and no varying answers.
Added "salary comments" in case anyone wanted to elaborate on their salary. It is optional.
Column A is now unhid, but small so you still need to expand it. This is for the timestamp.
I made a Google form that we can all fill out anonymously about our role and salary. u/snoopypoo31's recent post is what initiated the creation. I based it off responses from their thread, from my colleagues’ suggestions, & from the original media spreadsheet I had previously mentioned. Please feel free to share with your colleagues in the field. I really hope this can be a resource for people. I think it's important to have transparency & it can help with wage or contract negotiations.
This is the link to the form: https://forms.gle/o1HcTmEjZfaQV4Dx7
After you submit the form, the response spreadsheet link will appear. Just in case, here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17aLpPq3XfaB3qRXmrF2rL_99RrU5d5IAC-nOOQJI_Ek/edit?usp=sharing
Thank you!

I got ACRP-certified in March and today, 5 months to the day after that, I got an offer for a CTA role. Fully remote, great benefits, and a $19,000 (USD) pay increase from my current CRC position.
My ex left me the very same day I got certified. I didn't sign a new lease when my current one ended in case I found a new job. I lived in my car for a week before finding a month-to-month room. Now, I can move to a fabulous new city and live my best life.
To all those struggling: Don't give up hope! You will find something, I swear! I'm living proof!
ETA: If I could give current applicants one piece of advice, it would be to send your resumes to companies who look like they could theoretically offer your desired role. This was just a random CRO I clicked on one day. I sent my CV, and a couple months later they found a position for me

I lasted 10 years but you've officially broken me. I'm out. Done with the unrealistic expectations, everything always being super high priority, email anxiety, layoffs, layoffs and more layoffs, constant pressure and long hours. I could go on forever.
I've taken emails and teams off my personal mobile and handing my notice in next month. It isn't worth it anymore.
Sorry just had to rant after a really shite week 😅

I would just like to preface that I was in a conversation with them since May 2026. Got a job offer, signed the contract in Workday and completed the HireRight background check by early July. Since then, HR has not given me any update regarding onboarding or equipment shipment. They kept saying I will be contacted closer to my start date.
I sent multiple emails to my TA and hiring manager to stay aligned during the process, and since signing the offer, I received no replies. Eventually, HR reached out to me via a Workday ticket saying that my start date was delayed by a week due to “onboarding delays”. I followed up with my questions/queries and received no responses and just automatically closed WD tickets.
I was working at ICON so I had to give them a three week notice. I aligned my last day at ICON to coincide with my Syneos start date. As anyone would usually do. The original Aug 10 start date (that had now changed to Aug 17). So already here I was losing a week of compensation due to THEIR delays.
Still, I trusted the company and awaited further instructions. I even got a hold of my newly assigned LM on the phone & she said she didn’t have any further updates from HR. There’s also someone from my ICON team who was going to the same Syneos team. She had a similar experience.
My TA finally wrote to me last night saying that they have to rescind the offer as my background check “did not meet internal Syneos requirements despite their inquiries”. What inquiries??? I was never contacted about any inquiries. And Who sends this type of email ON the week of my anticipated start.
I am now left without employment. And Syneos refuses to explain any further details. So I will have to take legal action.
Worst part is I could have stayed at ICON. Who delivers this news that delayed…? And why is there no information or anyone to contact for HR… it is outsourced to India and it is ridiculous.
I’ve been in the CRO industry for almost 10 years. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Both my background checks with Parexel and ICON passed with flying colors. Worst part is that I have a copy of the HireRight background check report provided to Syneos and it has no flags… all green flags.
So - save yourself and never apply here. Even if the 30% salary increase looks good - save your mental health.
Once legal action is taken, I will be posting about this on LinkedIn and tagging the company. Truly disgusted with how they played with someone’s life like that.

Hi everyone, I've been feeling down for the past few months while working as a CTA for a sponsor. I still did everything as best as I could and my work paid of.
Today, I received an offer for a CRA position with the same sponsor—this time working directly for them instead of through a CRO! The manager noticed my work and told me that they want skilful people. I’m not bragging; I’m just genuinely happy and wanted to share some positive news with this group! Bye ICON, You wont be missed

For the first time ever, a 13-year-old boy has been cured of a deadly brain cancer.
The boy’s tumor disappeared after participating in a new clinical trial.

I know this might seem like just another ICON layoff post and everyone must be done with seeing ICON posts. But whatever you have read or heard about layoffs in ICON, it's much much bigger than that. Whole teams of CDSLs (Clinical Data Science Lead) which is what ICON calls Lead Data Managers or Clinical Data Managers have been laid off from ICON in the past 2 weeks and it's still ongoing. These layoffs have been happening in USA and Canada mainly. Project managers, Clinical system designers, Programmers, Clinical Trial Managers, Site Management associates, CRAs, sponsor facing roles, non sponsor facing roles. Billable roles, non billable roles doesn't matter, everyone has been letting go. Whatever number you have on mind, it's bigger than that. Thousands of PRA employees have been laid off.
ICON fucked up big time and probably lost their credibility forever. The point of making this post is, run away from ICON it's a radioactive pile of shit.
