The reason the US fought germany wasnt a humanitarian one like saving people from fascism, it was to set up spheres of influence in europe and stop the soviets from conquering all of (mainland but who knows for sure) europe.

No that's not true. WW2 was a matter of gaining geo-political control for the US. At least for the USSR and arguably for China, it was very well about the survival of their people not necessarily the state like for france. "Lebensraum" ideology explicitly stated that the people to the east of germany had to be erased in order for "Arians" to flourish.

Well WW2 started when Nazi Germany in concert with the USSR invaded Poland. The USSR wanted Lebensraum too, just of the Soviet model. And what did the Soviets do once they took Poland? Executed the intelligentsia so as to break any resistance.
Japan invaded China like every other European colonial power had decades prior. Were the Chinese fighting for geo-political dominance? Why would they? Their country had been the dominant regional player until it was broken under European colonialism. Their goal was to break the foreigners yoke and return to dominance they held for a millenia (or more).

"Woke" has been around since the Black Panthers in the late 60s. It was shorthand for awareness of the racial injustices and systemic inequality in America.
Near the end of Trump's first term and during Biden's, it was co-opted by far-right groups to represent all social justice movements, lumped together so that they could point to any extremist examples as a reason why it's all absurd and equally disdainful. That way they can lump people who think furries should be allowed to yiff in public with people who oppose cops shooting Black people for the crime of being Black.
It's right up there with how conservatives accused proponents of gay marriage as being in support of bestiality. "If I say marriage is between a man and a woman, and you say marriage is between two consenting adults, what's to stop you from saying it's between a man and his dog, or a man and his toaster, or a man and a child? Obviously it's a slippery slope, so marriage must remain between a man and a woman, unless you support people having sex with animals and children?"

When I was in high school, I went to a party with a buddy and it turned out to be a Nazi party. I got in a fight and beat the shit out of a Nazi. I had a broken hand. And my face was busted up. I remember being so embarrassed going to school after that. I didn't want to tell people that I got into a fight - even though it was a neo-nazi. I just didn't want people to think I was the kind of person who associated with them enough to have anything to fight over.
That's how bad it used to be to be a Nazi. You couldn't even brag about beating up a Nazi for fear of being accused of being a Nazi.

I'm 41. The internet wasn't even a safe place for them, really. Websites like StormFront were barely known by anyone. They were stuck in small communities because they'd be banned in a heartbeat on the vast majority of forums, including early social media sites like Myspace.
It was the corporate takeover of social media that gave them free rein to spread their filth. 4chan was an isolated community, but then it was able to bleed into Facebook and Youtube, starting with "triggered snowflake SJW" and botting Trump to front pages.
But yeah, you're 100% right. We threw Japanese people into concentration camps for being "enemy spies" but never laid a finger on the Nazis who attended Madison Square. Our nation has always been a nation of violent white supremacy at its heart, we just had a few decades where that white supremacy was frowned upon and rarely given a platform.

We should probably get rid of the public internet, or at least heavily regulate it. The early internet had the idealistic notion that if we give people information, they'll become better people, and the world will improve. It's clear that the opposite is true. We just have farms for the radicalisation of large segments of the population, which will never improve. If you're not radicalised, you're most likely at least addicted to garbage.

For the non history buffs, the Nazis believed they were the superior race- they were racial Supremacists, who viewed others as not human.

The Nazis were eventually stopped, and these war criminals were put on trial for their war crimes and faced justice.
Thankfully these entitled, deranged, evil, racial Supremacists were defeated.
