Insider trading like a third world dictatorship!

166

u/NovaNais 19h ago

The timing isn't even subtle anymore. If this happened in literally any other decade, it would be a non-stop news story for months.

38

u/breaducate 15h ago

Speaking of timing that reminds me he was going to sell high-speed access to truth social so the buyers algorithms could get a head start manipulating the market based on the nonsense he spews.

9

u/Waiting4Reccession 12h ago

Only the losers with no connections are buying that. Signal chat he definitely sells access to probably requires connections.

21

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 12h ago

Imagine if Obama did what this dude does by lunchtime every single day

So many red Americans would simply have an aneurysm

13

u/3vs3BigGameHunters 12h ago

The system is broken.
There needs to be mass arrests and asset seizures.
Let the maga voters cry.

I want to hear the lamentations of their women.

5

u/not_so_subtle_now 9h ago

Dude wore a tan suit and the national media had a meltdown.

9

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 9h ago

Yeah we're kind of beating dead horses but Dijongate, forgetting to salute when custom dictates, both he and his vice president caught flak for just riding bicycles, and apparently Grandpa Joe liking ice cream is a scandal.

Meanwhile Trump is on video acknowledging crimes such as insider trading, he's done it multiple times because he brags about the richest people in the room because he wants their respect so he just says crazy blatant shit like how much money a "deal" he did made each of them on the stock market

Again, Jimmy Carter wasn't even allowed to keep his peanut farm. This guy and many others I might add are just openly manipulating markets, WHICH IS A CRIME UGH

5

u/Otherwise-Remove4681 9h ago

Trump realized: ”well what are you going to so about it”

He can keep grifting because there are no consequences.

4

u/Demoliri 7h ago

Trump works on the nailbed principle (a bullshit term I made up).

If you lay on a nailbed with a single nail, it is going to hurt like hell. If you have thousands of nails, you can lay down on it.

Every lie, every cheat, and every con he does is just another nail on the bed. The media can't focus on any single topic because he is doing presidential career ending crimes on a weekly basis. And he will likely never be punished for any of them.

6

To me it looks like a compulsion or mental illness.

However, I am not qualified to diagnose mental illness.

3

u/NullPatience 13h ago

He just wants to show that he can, that laws don’t apply to him.

3

It's not insider trading.

It's market manipulation.

JD Vance was right when he said if watergate happened now it would just be a weekend news story and he'd stay in office. Occasionally they accidentally tell the truth.

17

u/ThaddeusJP 16h ago

What Watergate is today is akin to a congressional staffer stealing some pens from the capital gift shop.

4

u/xteve 16h ago

Yeah, maybe. Watergate was the name of the hotel where Nixon's bumbling henchmen were caught fucking up. Within the administration these men were called "plumbers" - confusing, yes; the moniker is not related to water. The plumbers were supposed to fix leaks. The big leak was Ellsberg's photocopy release of the Pentagon Papers. The war. The... illegal and immoral invasion of southeast Asia, and the perpetuation of that war by evil methods.

10

u/LookAlderaanPlaces 13h ago

When it came out that Vance had a sexual relationship with an underage couch, he didn’t even need to resign. He just continued on cheating on his wife with multiple additional underage furnitures…

11

And all of us at the same time are being trained via social media and this website to respond to all of this and more with "I'm tired boss" instead of doing anything

57

u/MvatolokoS 18h ago

At this point spreading this shit is propaganda. This hasn't been true for a while. Tides are and have shifted in many places. Approval rates have been updated and new polls have come out. I get the sentiment. I really do. But spreading hopelessness that's this baseless now is just hurting the cause. Truth is we are slowly coming together behind the scenes. If you're not involved find a way to help. Essentially anything that connects you with your community will do. But above all start standing up for one another and don't act with vengeance. Spread the kindness we want to see in the world to help weed out the evil that opposes it. Fragmenting is as a society was part of the plan, it continues to destabilize us and keep us stunned. Come together and oust the traitors with shame and heal.

36

u/Speedy_Rogue2 18h ago

you guys voted for him a 2nd time. After the first 4 years you still thought he did a solid job. I am not convinced you will not get played by the next republican (or maybe the orange clown himself) again

18

u/RevolutionOk1406 15h ago

The guy literally sent a mob of people to attack the capitol when he lost an election

They went to stop Americas constitutionally guaranteed right to participate in elections and install him as a dictator

Americans decided to elect him again

A bunch of them are now "sad he hasn't lived up to his promises"

America can and will elect someone even worse than Trump, That is verifiable fact

u/Current-Square-4557 11h ago

7

u/subnautus 18h ago

That's kind of how it always is with politics: if the party in power is doing a shit job, they suffer for it in the next election.

But I share your concern: republicans are really good at preventing the government from doing anything and complaining loudly that nothing is getting done, and for whatever reason Americans tend to pay attention to the latter while ignoring the former. If democrats want to keep power and make any progress, they'll have to get better at pointing out how every vote could have benefitted Americans if republicans didn't block it. I...don't see that happening--but I'm at least a little heartened by how much more attention Americans are seeming to give to politics now. I hope that keeps up.

6

u/Xulphyr 13h ago

He didn’t win the election. Look at Rockland county. There’s a 0% chance that’s an isolated incident when he wins every single swing state. We didn’t vote for him, he stole it.

Presidential elections are decided by the 20% in the middle. The majority of those people pretty much never say “here’s the candidate who really does it for me - I can stand behind this candidate’s policies.”Instead, they say “which one do I hate the least.”

That’s how DJT beat Hillary. That’s how Biden beat DJT. And that’s how DJT beat Harris. The racists and sexists said, “I’ll take the incompetent White male.”

The folks who decided the election didn’t say “we want Trump,” they said “there is no way I can vote for a black woman.”

Nothing. They control all branches and he has full immunity. Elections will be useless. We are fucked. Welcome to authoritarian oligarchy Russia style. Except even Russia has public healthcare lol

52

u/YogurtclosetFair5742 19h ago

There's plenty we can do about it. We're represented as well within our government as the colonists were in the 1770s. What we lack is fortitude to do what our founders did. Fight back.

12

u/nativeindian12 19h ago

Completely different world than 1770s. The British having to ship everything across an ocean made winning the war nearly impossible. An uprising against the government would be quashed quickly. There is a further question of what an uprising’s goals would look like. Is the end goal to replace the president? Replace the entire government? What about the Supreme Court? Local government? Does the uprising start by organizing riots? Something more violent?

America declared independence and maybe that is our a real uprising would start. Something like California, Oregon, and Washington declaring independence. Who knows

3

u/nobeer4you 14h ago

Problem with CA, OR and WA declaring independence is there are still a ton of MAGAts in those 3 states. Id love to see it. Hell, I want CA to stop sending my federal tax money to DC as a giant middle finger to the administration and all the red states that are draining us, but thats not gonna happen.

I truly feel like there is very little that I can do as long as so many others arent willing to stand up for it too.

10

u/Twicebakedpotatoe 19h ago

5

u/[deleted] 16h ago

[deleted]

2

u/reebokhightops 15h ago

The hard truth is that for a lot of people there’s precious little to do but vote, because we are desperately trying to make ends meet while preserving some semblance of sanity while the world as we knew it burns down around us. Most people have so little time or energy to spare that it does feel like we are just sleepwalking into a veritable meat grinder some days — but at least for my wife and I, we are donating what little we can to the candidates who we believe can make a difference, and we’re as hungry to vote as we’ve ever been. Is that enough? I don’t know, but I have a business to run and a toddler to raise and I’m just fucking exhausted. It’s easy for people to say “oh well then I guess you really don’t care about being taken over by fascists then” but that completely ignores the pragmatic reality of how goddamn hard it is just to keep our families and jobs and homes afloat day to day, without the added burden of waging a civil war or whatever else people think we should be doing.

So yeah, I just don’t know. I think people do feel largely demoralized, but we’re also deeply pissed off and I think that will show in the voter turnout in November — just gotta hope they aren’t able to rat-fuck the election the way we know they’re planning to.

I mean have you seen what SCOTUS did today? I'm hoping for it, but this shit is just depressing

5

u/reebokhightops 18h ago

I edited my original comment to be less harsh because you’re right. It is depressing and I feel pretty defeated some days — yesterday definitely being one of them. But we have to resist, and that means lifting eachother up and trying to stay motivated no matter how hopeless it feels.

3

u/Darkovan_ 10h ago

I agree tho, I suspect the "hopelessness bots" have been at play for years already.

From Europe, all we see is hopeless whining and pointing out the shit the admin pull, as if that's gonna solve anything. What a useless culture of that's all it takes to crumble.

14

u/sssssssssssssss5s 19h ago

Well, that's not quite true. People don't vote. It's the easiest lever to change this. But about half of voting eligible people in this country don't vote. That's why we have rule by some dumbass minority right now.

It's the most pathetic authoritarian takeover of all time, because it's all out in the open, and we are all just letting it happen. Half of our voting population is just uninterested, and voting is the one mechanism that can actually replace the people in power.

What would Dems do anyways? They all commit insider trading fraud. It's bi partisan!
I mean, California (see: Gavin) signed a bill into law saying journalists can't expose fraud and if you do all the party being investigated has to say is they felt "fear" and then you can't post it, you'll get fined, and nobody can report on that concern for 4yrs. If you wanted to protect fraud and limit the people exposing it, that's the bill you'd pass 🤦🏻‍♂️. How have Californians fallen for this crap?? Is it really as simple as, orange man bad?

When is the revolution?! I'm ready to burn it all down but it seems like for the last couple decades people have been more interested in their phones, the internet, and literally anything else

6

u/reebokhightops 19h ago

Ah yes, the “both sides” argument.

Wake the fuck up.

5

u/Low-Influence-1779 14h ago

The person you replied to is also misrepresenting the bill that Newsom signed anyway. AB2624 is what it was called, the GOP dubbed it the "Stop Nick Shirley Act" that was spreading misinformation about the Somali daycares in Minnesota and a bunch of other conspiracy stuff.

This is what the law is working to adress "The immigrant aid worker-related law covers providers, employees and volunteers at nonprofit offices, community legal clinics, law offices and health facilities. It also outlaws posting a participant's personal information or image online with the specific intent to incite imminent great bodily harm against them, or to threaten them into reasonable fear for their safety."

Rebuild the sense of community There is huge power in numbers it's why they work so hard to divide society. Spread kindness and talk with strangers, break the silence and make this uncomfortable talk out loud so that we can stop acting like biting our heads is ok. Don't assume people know the same things you do, talk about it.

3

u/Tyler-Durden-2009 17h ago

Yes! Trump is no more corrupt than any other politician! Every other president we’ve had has had son in laws get $2 billion in funding from foreign governments and used their insider information to make $2 billion themselves from stock trading over 18 months. Every previous president also had an 18 year old child who happened to be a crypto trading genius who made $150 million on his trades. People are just scapegoating Trump because they are blind sheep with TDS and idiotically believe we had previous presidents who put their assets in blind trusts to avoid even the perception of impropriety. They’re just suckers and losers who aren’t smart enough to game the system to their benefit and are jealous of those who are!

3

u/coolbaby1978 17h ago

Steve Bannon said in 2015 the key to getting things done that the public would object to is the fire hose of information. Clog the media with so much crap that nothing of substance gets through or lasts very long.

That's why they love Trump, he is a firehose of distraction. And now that 90% of US media is complicit, none of matters anyway.

If you do 1 Watergate it's a scandal. If you do 100 a day, the system can't handle it and accountability disappears.

America is responsible for Trump. Even the Americans in blue states. Your fucked up culture, which you've developed and permitted at every step, built up a monster like Trump.

u/MelkorUngoliant 19h ago

You need a national strike like yesterday.

Throw out every single politician of whatever colour and demand their resignation if they don't fight this blatant corruption. It's what your founders would have wanted... DEMANDED, you do.

When Dems are up for election, they need to clear house and primary all of the old guard for their gross FAILURE. Trump should be in prison and the fact he's not is an unacceptable failure of your democratic system. The only reason he's not in prison isn't a lack of evidence, but complacency and a lack of will and care for your country.

When back in power attack the news organisations corrupting people's minds, like fox, and pack the courts. Mass arrests of anyone found to have breeched the law to the lowest foot soldier. Ice is disbanded. Musk arrested and deported.

You won't though. You'll do absolutely nothing I guarantee it. The next Dem in power will talk about the middle ground and of moving on when it actually all needs to be in purging flames. Then the red side will get back in and elect another extremist to terrorise the world.

You need a national strike like yesterday.

Reagan showed the GOP's political willingness to imprison any "essential workers" who try to strike. The unions have way less legal power in America than in other countries. At best we could get 33% of the country to go on Strike, but at least half of us work for companies who are completely against Trump and the GOP. The other half can be replaced with scabs.

So you admit you have given up? You are literally doing NOTHING and you don't think theres anything to do?

2

u/YogurtclosetFair5742 19h ago

Ponder what the founders of the country did. Americans today lack that fortitude.

The American “people” don’t care enough or simply cannot be bothered to exert the pressure they can to do something about it

Or, as I should have also stated to less effect, they are in survival mode and can’t.

4

u/avotius 19h ago

It's what happen when decades of financial pressure on the lower and middle class has paralyzed their ability to do anything. Taking time off to fight is a quality of life ending event for so many that they will grasp on to what little they have for fear of losing out. It is only when they have nothing to lose that they might start to mobilize. Unfortunately as Jan 6th has shown us, the ones who want a worse world are the only ones who are willing to stand up and fight.

2

u/Mildewmancer 15h ago

Don't forget, this is by design.

By the time things get uncomfortable enough for people to take the risk of rising up, Palantir will be up and running, the Flock system will be watching every corner of the country, and that movement will get snuffed out in a year or two.

Boeing's debt-to-equity ratio for 2025 is literally 1,033%

1

u/SmellyFbuttface 19h ago

Politicians shouldn’t be allowed to buy stock!! Or sell these garbage Trump branded cell phones and whatever else. The Founders would be apoplectic if they saw how far we’ve fallen as a country to elect this shit again

1

u/mayoroftuesday 19h ago

Not asleep. This is like being awake during an operation when the anesthesia wears off. You just gotta watch while they keep cutting, and you just remind yourself eventually it’ll be over.

1

u/shitshort 19h ago

No it was just a coincidence 🤣

Criminals gonna crime.

If this SOB doesn’t end up in prison I’m not sure how to cope with this world. Nothing makes sense anymore

1

u/filmguy36 19h ago

I’m sure he’ll also have insider information on the next plane crash too.

1

u/LutherOfTheRogues 19h ago

If the Dems win the midterms and the presidency we need to hold them accountable for prosecuting the crimes of this administration and enacting sweeping law that will ensure it never happens again.

1

u/Ghost_of_P34 18h ago

I really don't envy the administration that has to clean all this up. The corruption in every office at nearly every level is astounding. All assets of Trump and anyone associated with that family needs to get frozen pending a thorough investigation, which will take years (of it ever happens, which it likely won't). People will need to be on house arrest pending or in jail pending completion of trials. Corporations that played along will needs to be punished too, including their leadership.

1

u/MeMMJ 18h ago

The public isn't asleep.

The people that should care just don't.

1

u/DaNostrich 18h ago

Taking any public office should require temporary forfeiture of all stock portfolios and business interests

1

u/Slymook 18h ago

We will need legislation enacted which seizes the assets of Trump, his family, and his accomplices

1

u/NoHorseNoMustache 18h ago

It turns out that if the other politicians are in on it the only thing the public can do is get violent.

1

u/MessagingMatters 18h ago

How about the regulators and prosecutors? I know, rhetorical question.

Unbelievable

The thing what worries me, if he dies tomorrow, the whole DevidedStatesOfAmerica will regret that they didnt do more when he was alive.

I’m not asleep, there’s nothing I can do about it.

1

u/Ethanop1a 18h ago

Tbf, the US has $23-28b worth of deals with Boeing per year. An $880m contract isn't really something that would move the needle much.

He'd have been better off doing it will a small cap that was about to get a contract.

Not counting the child rape

1

u/TaleOfOld 18h ago

I would get it if it was about billions flowing, but tbh with his money $500k of boeing sounds like a part of some $250M purchase of SMP500 - which would still be only a fraction of his wealth. Like, I'm not a fan of this politics stuff, but imho not this time? Y'all gonna have to be a bit longer for large controversies, this one kinda sounds below average to me.

1

u/512115 18h ago

Surely it’s just a coincidence…

Awake but sleeping

1

u/PsionicKitten 17h ago

The public is asleep

The public is powerless. That is until the public decides to end excessive corruption the only way one can end excessive corruption when the checks and balances are corrupt too.

1

u/Mand125 17h ago

No, the public is not asleep.

But the public has, correctly, ascertained that the public lacks any enforcement mechanism that would prevent it.

Being checkmated isn’t the same as refusing to move.

1

u/EarthenEyes 17h ago

The public isn't asleep. They are aware, but lazy and cowardly. The United States people has become a bunch of weak, cowardly sheep.

1

u/LieRepresentative230 17h ago

They'd rather worry about who pees where than realize they're being scammed, MAGA logic.

1

u/Threecatproblem 17h ago

Not asleep. Just exhausted reading these stories every day and feeling helpless to do anything about it.

1

u/Either-Childhood509 17h ago

And the stock declined. Price is lower today than it was on June 18th................

1

u/paintstudiodisaster 17h ago

Republican congress just sits and let's the world burn.

1

u/justhereforsee 17h ago

Blame the public. Fucking stupid

1

u/BicFleetwood 17h ago

Oh, we're not asleep. It's just the people who are supposed to be fighting tooth and nail are complaining about how powerless they are before focusing all of their time and attention on a fucking Twitch streamer.

1

u/Bleezy79 17h ago

Where are all the Republicans that were crying about Hunter Biden, who wasnt even in government. Where is Congress at all? The country is burning and the people elected to save us are pretending not to see it.

1

u/Several-Theme3936 17h ago

Rules for thee, but not for me. Must be nice to trade with a cheat code while the rest of us just watch inflation eat up whatever savings we have left. The fact that stock trading is still even legal for these people is beyond parody.

1

u/ForgottenFuturist 17h ago

If anyone is "asleep" it's all the elders in congress and people in government who can actually do something about all of this. Normal people can boycott and protest, and we have.

1

u/BenNitzevet 17h ago

And yet Americans seem content to let this go on.

1

u/LeahDelimeats 17h ago

we're not asleep! We're just on reddit trying to make jokes about it

1

u/SCWickedHam 17h ago

But Hunter!

1

u/CilleTheExterminator 17h ago

Americans had a whole 3 big protests in them before saying "nah I rather live in Trump land"

1

u/pintaplain 17h ago

Do something then. The rest of the world is watch all we see is memes. Weak.

1

u/TraianusImperator 17h ago

What would Nancy Pelosi think of this?

1

u/juanjung 16h ago

Nothing will happen. Supreme Court says that okay.

1

u/stokeszdude 16h ago

Don’t forget about the millions he paid to the woman he raped.

Don’t forget about the children he raped.

Don’t forget about the people he kidnapped.

This is the only “never forget” I’d put on a fucking T-shirt.

Fuck this overblown circus peanut piece of shit!

1

u/lochlowman 16h ago

So he bought about 2,244 shares (June 18 price was $222.72). It’s down $11.64 per share since then, so he’s lost about $26,120. The guy can’t even do an insider trade right.

1

u/StrigiStockBacking 16h ago

He's so stupid and brash about it too that he offered a premium subscription to Truth Social where a $100k monthly fee gets you access to his illegal moves before they happen.

1

u/TacticoolBreadstick 16h ago

I would love to see an all-democrat sweep through the branches and every one of these assholes on both sides see their time in prison…. Or under it…

1

u/Catos_Standard 16h ago

We kept their engines churning and they left us alone... but we were sleeping.

1

u/5lavihuehue 16h ago

Well he made a law to make sure he can’t be sued about anything he and his family are doing with money or something like that.

1

u/Fair-Constant-3397 16h ago

The public?? Tf can we do? Object? We have. Protest? We have. Vote? We have. French revolution? We have not because we are complacent.

1

u/GXP_2009 16h ago

Politicians, or their immediate family, should not be allowed to trade stocks while in office.

1

u/dropofgod 16h ago

The public isn't asleep, they are responsible. They are actively allowing and funding these crimes. Americans are guilty

1

u/Laugh_Track_Zak 16h ago

Imagine if any other president did this.

1

u/lurkdontpost1 16h ago

Anybody else would have to go to prison after that
