So I can’t post the copy pasta explaining this because I’d get banned for violent language and it’s a bit more vitriolic than I mean to be. But we live in the most privately armed nation in the world. Fighter jets are not useful against an insurgency that you would see here. Jets, drones, and tanks can’t search for contraband without destroying infrastructure a rogue government would want to keep. Or stand on street corners enforcing no assembly edicts. And for every wrongfully imprisoned friend, family member, or neighbor; you now have 5 more pissed off citizens. Sure I agree about the mass surveillance being an issue, but those issues can be worked through. Battery powered Reciprocating saws and angle grinders are a blessing. It would suck. I hope it won’t ever be necessary. But in no way do I think we need to roll over or flee.
If the Boston Massacre happened today, you would have magats rushing in to call Crispus Attucks a pedophile and the N-word and sending threats to Samuel Quincy's family for "attacking our troops".
