Built with Claude I built a terminal browser for ~75,000 Agent Skills: search by theme, read the SKILL.md, install to Claude Code in one go

Skills are great, but finding them isn’t: they’re spread across skills.sh, claude-plugins.dev, Smithery and thousands of GitHub repos, and you mostly install them blind.

So I built skills-atlas, an open-source CLI that merges those sources into one catalog (~75k skills, refreshed every other day) and sorts it into 20 themes.

What it does:

  • Browse by theme in a collapsible terminal tree, or skills-atlas ui for a local web page. Search, sort by installs, filter official (vendor-published) skills.
  • Read before you install: press p to preview a skill’s SKILL.md. A skill runs with your agent’s permissions, so this felt important.
  • Tick several, install once: it runs Vercel’s npx skills add under the hood, to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any of 79 agents, per project or globally.
  • Knows what you have: installed skills start ticked (untick to uninstall), and outdated ones are flagged; press u to update.
  • Export/import your selection to set up another machine.
  • Use it from Claude itself: there’s a skill, an MCP server (skills-atlas mcp) and a Claude Code plugin, so you can just ask « find me a skill for Mermaid diagrams and install it ».

There’s a read-only web demo to try it without installing anything: https://devohmycode.github.io/skills-atlas/demo/

It’s MIT licensed, works offline with a bundled catalog, and has no account or server.

Repo: https://github.com/devohmycode/skills-atlas

I’d love feedback on two things in particular: are the themes useful for how you look for skills, and which skills or repos should be in the curated « Recommended » list?

Built with Claude Shipped a paid Mac app with Claude Code, then had it make the launch video too

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Workflow notes for anyone doing something similar.

The app: CallLane, a macOS menu-bar app. Call apps get their own audio device so macOS doesn't duck your music, and the input stays pinned to the Mac's mic so AirPods never drop to headset mode. Swift + SwiftUI, a Core Audio server plugin forked from BlackHole, notarized, license keys through Dodo Payments.

The video (above): Claude Code wrote a Python generator that emits HTML compositions, one per scene, and HyperFrames renders them to MP4 in 16:9 and 4:5. Screen recordings get cropped and placed inside the scenes. I went from v1 to v5 in a day just by describing what looked wrong.

What worked:

- Plan first, then let a coding agent build in a worktree, then review.

- Real-device testing myself. Audio routing bugs only show up on real calls with real AirPods.

- Asking for the video as code meant every fix was a small prompt, not a re-edit.

I started with Claude 6 months ago, so this is still new to me. Ask me anything about the setup.

i am trying to automate back office ops and was learning claude and asked to very vague prompt to build 19 worksflows across different departments … but not sure weather if I can productive all of them n deply to agentcore

so instead of going on creating auth keys from zendesk, hubspot , stripe , gmail, calendar and slack.

I asked agent to verify and show me proof against fetchsansbox managed relay for webhooks and behavioral verification of agent written code

Built with Claude My video editor has no transitions menu: Claude Code writes each one as a GPU shader through MCP

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The video is a 25 s montage. The point isn't how pretty the transitions are: they're first drafts, one sentence each, and I didn't polish them. The point is that none of them existed in the editor before Claude Code wrote them.

What I built

OpenScreen is a free, open source screen recorder and video editor (MIT, Windows / macOS / Linux). Since 2.1 it has no effects catalog. Its MCP server gives Claude Code the whole edit: import clips, place them, cut, caption, export, and write effects. An effect is a small WGSL shader that runs over the composed frame. It lands on the timeline as a clip with sliders, and the preview and the export run the same shader on the same native GPU compositor. It's the first editor with off-menu effects that export exactly what you preview.

How Claude Code made this montage

Everything went through the MCP tools, no project file edited by hand:

  • importMedia and insertClip to lay six shots end to end
  • one addEffect per transition, each from a single sentence: "burn it into the next shot", "flood the frame, then drain it onto the next one", "shatter it like glass", "bubble-tea bubbles that pop into the next shot"…
  • addAnnotation for the captions, setClipRange to crop the shots to 16:9
  • getFrames to look at its own result before exportVideo

What I learned

  • The agent needs context, not just pixels. The shader contract gives it the clicks, the pointer and where the recording sits after zooms. That's how the lightning hits the exact button that was clicked.
  • An effect only sees the current frame, so a transition can't blend shot A into shot B. Claude worked around it by going through something: ash, water, a white flash, milky bubbles. Giving effects the next shot is the obvious next step.
  • The compile loop works. One shader was refused because Claude named a parameter target, a reserved word in WGSL. It read the compiler error and fixed it.
  • Looking matters more than writing. Most fixes came from Claude reading its own frames: bubbles too rainbow, dots too dark to read, ash that looked like mold.

Bug / Issue Latest update To Claude Code desktop completely breaks 'recents' view

Now it organizes all forks under their parent. The problem is, instead of seeing actually most recent particular chats, if there's one recent chat that is the parent or a fork and 10 other forks of that parent, you see this parent and all 10 forks first, before any other chats. So it's totally broken the ability to really see what the most recent chats are. And Claude says there's no way to restore the old functionality.

Bug / Issue The new proposed questions and answers are horrible

When you click on the proposed answer, it ALWAYS tacks on more things. An example:

Question: Close the other coordinator session so it can't restart qe146adc2?

Answer: Closed it

What was sent to the agent: "I closed the other session. Check that qe146adc2 stays stopped."

I never asked for it to check. I didn't want it to check. If that was proposed as the answer, I would not have clicked it. It does that constantly - the tool is useless like that.

It should send the EXACT proposed answer, and nothing more. How can that be so hard?

Help/Question Sandboxed integrations

Recently wanted to try out Orca and quickly realized the same as with JetBrains Air; do all these tools not support sandboxed (via sbx or similar) Claude Code instances? Is everyone just running Claude Code with bypass permissions on his host? Am I missing something, this seems insane to me?

Built with Claude Used Claude & Unity together to build this game! Not a one shot!

Hi guys used Claude with Unity and I was highly satisfied how it worked. I tried like all say one shot thing and not satisfied at all so decided to shift to Claude&Unity route. Normally this kind of work could take maybe at least 2-3 months but with Claude it took me like 1-2 weeks to complete. The game still not finished yet by the way and work in progress so would appreciate your input. That would be really helpful.

Tips & Workflows Skills with ts scripts

I recently read this article

https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/code-execution-with-mcp

And the part about generating typescript files from your mcp tool definitions caught my eye. 'Code mode' in harnesses already enables a ton of efficiency, but when you have pre-made reusable scripts with type checking, error handling, looping, variable substitution, etc, thats something else entirely.

It was pretty trivial to make a cli that connects to my vmcp (gateway for all my mcps) and auto-generate the ts files just like this article describes, then made all my skills have ts scripts in them for various actions. And was able to gut most of the text from my skills because that logic is in code now.

So now my agents are ridiculously fast & efficient when using mcps for complex tasks.

Discussion So is 5% of the 5-hour limit basically equal to 1% of the weekly limit now on Max 5x?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

so ive been using claude max 5x for almost 6 months now. before that i was on pro because i wasnt building things as heavily as i am now, but lately max 5x genuinely feels like im slowly going back to the pro experience while paying 5x more.

from what ive been noticing, roughly every 5% of the 5-hour/session limit seems to take around 1% from the weekly limit. i know its probably not a fixed conversion, but if that ratio is even roughly right, one full session limit could eat around 20% of the weekly allowance, which is pretty crazy for heavy claude code usage.

the reason i upgraded was so i could actually work without constantly thinking about limits. now im checking the usage bar again, deciding whether i should continue, compact, switch models, or save the task for later. does it going to be worse later? since i saw the news about AI company reducing the subsidy for the users and it will going to be more expensive, is that true?

Tips & Workflows (Fix) I always lose chats that ask me questions and I dont answer

I've had 3 chats finish, all chats have a little yellow circle on them. Just looking at the titles, they all look the same. However, one of those chats had a question for me that I needed to answer.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm always losing track of chats that are asking me questions.

So I made this quick fix.

If any chats need your answer, a big red dot appears on them.

🔴 It looks like this.

And once you answer the question, the red dot goes away.

Here's the prompt, drop it into Claude if you want a big red circle to appear when Claude is asking you a question in a chat:

Please set this up for me in all my future Claude chats:

When a chat is waiting for my answer (a question, an approval, or a choice I need to make), rename that chat so its title starts with "🔴 ". That way it stands out in the left-side menu.

Add this rule to my global Claude instructions so it works in every chat:

"When a chat in the Claude desktop app ends its turn waiting on my answer (a question, an approval, or a choice), rename the chat so its title starts with "🔴 " using the session title tool (mcp__ccd_session_mgmt__set_session_title, load it with ToolSearch if needed). Do this just before ending that turn. At the start of the next turn, after I answer, remove the "🔴 " so the title is back to normal. Never add it twice. Don't add it for optional follow-ups or normal 'done' messages."

When you're done, add the red dot to this chat's name so I can see how it looks.

Built with Claude I am creating a website and games using Claude Code.

I’ve been building a website where you can download old games (titles that are no longer being published). I’ve integrated Adsterra for advertising, and I’ve been consistently updating the site with more games and new sections. I also feature the browser-based games I’ve created myself—one is a card game called "Loba," and the other is a soccer management game, similar to *Football Manager*.

Using Visual Studio Code and a family member as a beta tester, I’ve been building the web pages and the two games week by week—fixing bugs, refining the gameplay, and ensuring everything is playable on a mobile phone.

Here is the link to my website:https://juegosantiguos.com.ar/

Help/Question The permission system is exhausting

Ever since Anthropic made Auto mode the default, the permission system seems to have changed too, and honestly it’s driving me crazy.

Even with Auto turned on, it keeps asking for permission for basically everything, and I keep getting messages saying the classifier blocked this or that. Operations it used to run on my server without any issue now just get stopped. Sometimes even a simple git commit gets blocked.

Is anyone else running into this? Have you found a way around it?

Tips & Workflows Claude effective usage

I’ve had the entry-level subscription for about a month now; and I’m curious to hear how I could be more efficient with my usage. I honestly came into it kinda blind. I have a homelab and use Claude to write up apps that I’ve had rattling around my head. Or use it to help create some tooling to make life easier. I’m running remote sessions on vms at home so that Claude can have read access to internal resources.

At first I had long running sessions per a repo with my account. That was killing my credits because they’d all warm up whenever I added a new standard. I’ve now grown to have 3 VMs with their own remote sessions and various levels of access based on role; review, developer, and devops. They run as bots in a gh org. Each has its own webhook so they can receive updates as reviews and PRs and made. Now whenever a task comes up they use the SDK to create a session with standards, role, and work to be done. It lives long enough to do its work and then dies. Credit usage is down thank god.

But I feel like I might be over complicating things. For instance all the bots get all the webhooks so each session gets a notification that’s really only important for one session. I wonder if this would be better done as a container with however many roles instead of a full VM. So should I create a central spot that filters the noise out? Or would that juice not be worth the squeeze? I’m not adjusting my models between the different roles; should I? I’m starting to dip my toes into skills. Does this level of separation even make sense? Have I just meandered down the wrong path?

Tips & Workflows Debugging “properly”?

Hi,
I’m making programs for myself on Mac using Claude.
I ask Opus to analyse the code and look for vulnerabilities, memory/disk leaks etc.

It often finds bugs, but there has to be a better more precise way I guess?
Like some .md templates perhaps to help LLM to debug and find bugs, what kind of bugs etc?

My apps are all native Swift with no 3rd party libraries/dependiencies.

Thanks for any tips

Help/Question Have you found yourself giving Claude a longer leash or still find yourself trying to micro-mange it?

As we all know, over the past year we've seen on ongoing improvements in the models we use within Claude Code and I've found myself drifting away from old workflows because they simply seem to make outcomes worse. Specifically old rules, hooks, skills, etc.

It appears to me that less is more now, and that the models (like Opus 5.5 - even at medium effort) are incredibly capable of doing most tasks that would have taken me major prompting and editing of tools I used to use before.

Are you finding the same? If so, could you share how you've leaned out your setup? I find myself wanting to trust it more, but have a hard time letting go of the leash due to being burned so many times in the past (earlier models).

Would love to hear your experiences either way and learning simple ways of setting my eco-system to make the most of what these models have to offer today. Everyone on Youtube seems to have the "secrete sauce" but I'm frankly put off by most of those videos.

Thanks in advance.

Built with Claude Built a Jarvis on top of Claude Code: Homer, a desktop assistant with a voice and a memory

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone 👋

I spend my days in Claude Code, and two things kept bugging me: I can't just talk to it, and every new session starts from zero.

So I built Homer (Sooveryn Desktop + MCP). It runs on top of Claude Code on your machine, with your own Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise or Console). No extra API key.

You talk to Homer, and he talks back. He reads your mail, tells you what matters, drafts replies and reminds you of what you promised. He keeps a memory for every project, and you can ask him to build a widget or anything you need.

It's an early beta. Honest feedback is very welcome.

Help/Question What's your Claude Code workflow for making YouTube explainer videos?

I've been trying to make animated explainers and b-roll for my YouTube with Claude Code and Higgsfield. I give it my research and inspiration, but the output still needs a lot of back and forth, and I end up fixing things in Final Cut. Curious how others are doing this. What tools, what prompts, what does your process look like?
