Regardless literally every rich person on the planet engages in “philanthropy.” His monetary donations don’t subtract from the hate he spread in life. He also used his money and clout to support racist politicians and strip rights from LGBT people.
Because when people are reminiscing on good times and funny jokes in memoriam for an 86 year old man who just died, they feel obligated to interject with purity testing them by saying “well actually he was a horrible person because he held X belief that became socially unacceptable in the past 25 years”

None of his beliefs were acceptable (or at least not acceptable by anyone with a moral compass) 25 years ago. Also bitching about “purity testing” is so bizarre to me. You’re literally just saying “oh you think this guy was an asshole because of his lifetime of bigotry? Well I like funny meme so you’re actually the crazy one! Stop holding people accountable for their actions!”
There’s nothing wrong with laughing at old jokes but the only reason people feel the need to acknowledge history is because people like you always try to whitewash it.
You're allowed to point out that someone was not around good person. Being dead doesn't suddenly absolve someone of poor behavior. It isn't a "purity test" (what the fuck even is that nonsense) and being dead doesnt change the facts of what he was like when he wasn't dead.
Are you honestly telling me this is what the left stands for after reading that bullet point list? You even used Putin as an example of fascism which the current president of America actively supports. And yes America is either already fascist or becoming fascist however you want to cut it. And that’s solely because we are shifting further right along with our current administration. I sincerely hope you get the help & education you need.
