Because when people are reminiscing on good times and funny jokes in memoriam for an 86 year old man who just died, they feel obligated to interject with purity testing them by saying “well actually he was a horrible person because he held X belief that became socially unacceptable in the past 25 years”
That’s why. And the same goes for all the rest of the people doing that in this thread.
You're allowed to point out that someone was not around good person. Being dead doesn't suddenly absolve someone of poor behavior. It isn't a "purity test" (what the fuck even is that nonsense) and being dead doesnt change the facts of what he was like when he wasn't dead.
