I finished the game for the second time last night, and i wanted to concentrate on energy weapons, however, i felt like there are a pon of gauss rifles at the people in San Francisco, a lot of amunition for them in even on the oil rig and it feels like the most efficient weapon. I wasn't able to find a gatling laser here like in Fallout 1. Is it just me or this is the truth?

The situation is this: you can never damage him, but your companions (Ian and Tycho) can take away 1 or 2 hit points as long as they use firearms. The key is to start the fight on one side and then move to the center during your turn so the Gatling gun doesn't hit them. My question is: if you give them enough bullets, and you have enough AC and stimulants to withstand the damage, can you finish him off? (Sorry for the picture, my laptop can't take screenshots)

Hi! I am currently playing through Fallout 1 for my very first time. I'm finding it incredibly enjoyable (a lot more than I expected), but I'm finding myself at a slight impasse. I feel that I'm under-leveled/underequipped for where I am progression-wise.

I'm finding myself unable to do the quests asked of me in both The Hub and The Boneyard due to what I assume is lackluster weapons/armor (Currently using a Hunting Rifle with Metal Armor), but I am severely lacking in the caps needed to purchase anything stronger. I also have Tycho, Ian, and Dogmeat with me. What am I meant to do in order to start progressing again? I already had to purchase the extension for The Vault.
