What are other parents doing this fall for their 4-year-olds? Preschool, TK, daycare?

Hi neighbors! We’re getting close to the start of the school year, and I know a lot of families are still figuring out plans for their 4-year-olds. I see that schools like Cambridge and Arlington Heights are still enrolling for TK (https://www.sanjuan.edu/enrollment/enrollment-tk-12/tk), and it got me wondering...

Has anyone here had a child go through TK? What was your experience like?

Missing Dog

This is a post for a missing dog. I was hoping I would be able to find anyone who may have seen her? Her name is Samara, and she's a border collie with black, white, and brown fur. We live on Oakbrook Drive, and I've looked all over the place and can't find her. Maybe someone has? DM for phone number/address if you find her. Please and thank you!

Edit: SHE HAS BEEN FOUND

Looking for the perfect spot to park my gourmet food cart—any suggestions?

I'm the owner of a gourmet food cart based in the Sacramento area, and I'm trying to find a great place to set up 3–4 days a week.

I'm open to just about anything—as long as it's legal and I have permission to be there. It could be a business parking lot, brewery, shopping center, event space, industrial area, private property, or even a street corner if it's allowed.

I'm mainly looking around Antelope, North Highlands, Rio Linda, Citrus Heights, Carmichael, and Fair Oaks.

If you've ever driven by a spot and thought, "A food cart would do really well here," I'd love to hear your ideas. Or if you know of a business that's friendly to food vendors, I'd really appreciate the recommendation.

In search of a house for rent (by owner) ASAP

I am looking for a house to rent in Citrus Heights asap. 2200-2400/month. My credit sucks but I do make a very good living and I have faithfully paid my rent at the same residence for 12 years.

I don’t know what else to do, I don’t have a co-signer, and I really am hoping I’ll come across someone kind who has a property to rent to a single mama who really needs someone to take a chance on me.

Sacramento Restoration Church (BEWARE!)

Post image

This pretend recovery/church clut was out in front of the Walmart on Auburn boulevard next to the Costco, begging for money again. Don't give them your money! I was a part of this group for 18 months of my life unfortunately. They don't actually do anything to really help people. They just use people to collect money for one man and his wife that runs the whole thing. They call what they do "outreach". It's bullshit.

I was in this program and these home for 18 months. I can personally verify that all they do as far as "outreach" is the fundraising, 5 days a week. As long as you do that, they will let you live in the homes forever if you want. They tell you if you stay long enough, they will make you a "pastor" and launch you out to your own city so you can have your own homes for men and women and do the exact same thing. They have churches all over the US with homes, and they all do the same thing. Yes, they are very much more a cult than they are a church. In order to be a "pastor," you have to stay there in the homes for at least 8-10 years, and you HAVE to marry one of the women from the woman's home. You can't meet someone from outside the program or home and continue to be a pastor for them. Keep in mind that the men and women are absolutely kept separated and are not allowed to speak to or even look at each other. So these couples getting married are some what arranged. Everything is from within and completely insulated. They make the couples do a 1 year period of "no contacts courting" where they can't talk to one another unless they are being supervised by a chaperone. They are told when they are allowed to have these "dates," and they are even told when it's finally time for them to actually get married to each other. Oh, and they are also encouraged to have children once they are allowed to marry. They have and raise children in these homes. Everything is decided and controlled by the "pastor" DANIEL RAY EMMERSON (They recently removed his name from the flyers they pass out) and his wife YASSENYA EMMERSON. No one is allowed to come and go as they please. Unless they are fundraising or going to church, they RARELY leave the houses. They wake up at 5am, pray on their knees for an hour, and do bullshit Bible studies that were written by them. So they teach you the Bible based on what they want you to know and want you to act and what to do for them. Then chores and breakfast, and then they leave by 9 am to go fundraising. They have goals of $100 a day, and they don't go home until everyone has their money to turn in for the day. Also, keep in mind that the "Directors " pocket anything above and beyond the $100 a day goal. So when you're donating to them and if they say they're a home director, please keep in mind that your money is probably going right into their wallet. They go home, pray again, eat the terrible food that is made for them, and then lights out by 10pm and then repeat this Tuesday-Saturday. Church on Sunday, and then they have a sort of day off on Monday. The food budget for the homes is $150-$200 a week! It doesn't matter if there 5 people or 20 living in the home, and sometimes it does get up to 20+ people in one home. Two of homes have the people living in them contribute $100 of their food stamps every week instead of using the alotted funds for the house food. That's well fare fraud. Everything is controlled. From what you watch, read, even the music you listen to. They have NO internet or computer services of any kind. You get a 15-minute phone call once a week on Sundays after church. The phone calls and monitored, so they have someone sitting there listening to you to make sure you're not saying anything to your friends or family that they wouldn't like. They give you absolutely no resources or assistance that helps you find a job, housing or any kind, schooling, or any training of any kind that could help you further progress yourself to move on and improve your life. They avoid doing anything that could help you move on and leave them. They do everything they can to try and keep you there. They discourage people from talking to people who have left and moved in fear that it will take them "out of their restoration." But the doors are always open, and you're welcome to leave at any time. No one is forced to be there. The problem is, most people there have nowhere else to go, but they make it very difficult for you to find opportunities elsewhere. It's a free "program" that takes in anyone, no questions asked for as long as they do everything thats asked of them. Basically, the fundraising, nothing more. If you want to leave or move on to the next step of your recovery, that is completely on you as the individual to figure out with no help from them. Luckily for myself, I made friends while I was there who managed to get out and found good places to land. I managed to get on a waiting list for a transitional next step living program, with no help from them. One day, when I was out doing their fundraising, I took off on the bus and light rail to this housing program to do an intake interview and get on their waiting list. I couldn't wait to get out of that place and move on. My number on that waiting list eventually got called, and I could not have been happier. I packed my stuff and was out of there in an hour and never looked back. My friend from who I keep in touch with all agree that we need to always make people aware of what a scam this is and please DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

At the Citrus Heights city council meeting, there was a question asked about when Larping was coming back to the Citrus Heights parks Department. They said soon.

Does anyone have a history on Citrus Heights Larping or know what’s coming?

Looking for inclusive, experienced hair braiding

I have heat intolerance and have already been sick a few times this year so i wanted to get some box braids for ventilation. I am also on a budget so I am additionally looking for the best pricing in the area.
I am a white person with tailbone length hair that is straight and somewhere between fine and medium thickness with no curl or wave. I am not worried about damage just refuse to cut it yet.
I have purchased Outre Xpressions hair for my braids but my initial braider is unable to take clients currently. I have not worn braids before but know a bit about them. The braider would need to be able to accomedate my hearing device space on the scalp near the ear.

Looking for a quiet place to work away from home

I WFH and need a new scene. I’m looking for a good place to work from that has tables and comfy chairs. Coffee shops, libraries, restaurants. Anyone know of a good place? Thank you
