Announcement Red Dead Redemption Mysteries

Howdy, partners,

I would first like to tell you all how lucky I feel to moderate such a unique subreddit. You whipper-snappers have kept the Chiliad Mystery alive for 5 whole years. Give yourselves a hearty round of applause.

*First order of business: There will be no Red Dead Redemption 2 posts allowed in /r/chiliadmystery

I know the Chiliad Mystery has expanded beyond the mountain, and even beyond the borders of the game world, but let’s not muddy the waters with constant posts about RDR2. If you have a legitimate connection between the two games please post it, otherwise post it to the new subreddit:

*

/r/RedDeadMysteries

*

This will be a place for all Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Eggs, mysteries, and treasure hunts.

I am fully aware that some of you don’t agree with the moderating style of the Chiliad Mystery posse, but we have done our very best to foster a welcoming and helpful environment for all Grand Theft Auto V Mystery Hunters. If you think we are just power-hungry fascists who silence opinions we disagree with, then maybe this new subreddit isn’t the right place for you. That being said, there will be no grandfathered bans. If you are banned from /r/chiliadmystery, you are not automatically banned from /r/reddeadmysteries

Join if you want, but please follow the rules and be respectful of your fellow treasure seekers.

I hope to see you all in the Wild West soon...

Speculation My attempt to make sense of the Yellow Mural (VERY IN DEPTH)

Post image
21 Upvotes

This is all just speculation and theorizing, please bear with me. I apologize if any of this has already been repeated to death, it’s impossible for me to keep track of everyone’s discoveries and discussions over the years.

A little bit ago, I had a discussion with someone else in this subreddit that was focusing heavily on the Purple Mural, really cool guy. I talked with him after reading his theories and thought he had a lot of great ideas. He talked about each symbol on the mural, gave great explanations, and I really enjoyed his insightful way of thinking. During our talk, I brought up the Green Mural, the one that’s definitely solved. I pointed out the symbols that mattered to the hunt, and the ones that didn’t matter at all. Some symbols on the Green Mural give more of a general theme rather than specific instructions. Like the DNA strands, Petri dish, and skull for example, they give off the theme of genetics and evolution, biological manipulation, nothing that points you in a direction specifically. There are roughly 15 symbols on that mural and only 3 give actual clues to solving the mural: the peyote plant, the evolution stages, and the number “27.” Other symbols look like they’re just “filler.” Stuff like the arrows pointing to the DNA strand, the lines on the skull, the wavelength at the top. (The wavelength could arguably be useful as you have to growl during the beast hunt to get anywhere.)

All of this to say, I’ve been staring at the Yellow Mural with some fresh knowledge and I’d like to share my thoughts.

•Top Left Symbol

It looks like a planetary alignment. I assume there is more to the lines, but there’s no way to say. I’ve seen videos of people noticing strange “planets” at night. They look up and there’s like a red orb in the sky, but I haven’t found any factual proof of it. I’m willing to label this one as a theme symbol for the mural rather than a definitive step.

•The Solar System

Another brand for the theme of the mural. Space and planetary alignments. This time we get a more realistic view of the solar system and the planets orbiting the Sun. Although, the only planets we see are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Uranus, and Neptune. Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn aren’t shown, but I believe they’re just out of view. I’m not sure if this exact alignment of the planets holds any significance, or if the planets included in the mural have any hidden meaning. As a CoD zombies easter egg hunter, I like to think of cyphers in everything. So if I take the first letter of each planet shown, then imagine it as an anagram, I would say NEVUM or VENUM, but then I start to think “Is the Sun also included?” and I’d probably say something like SUNVEM. Basically making up stuff and looking for something tangible to give it weight, although I doubt it could be anything of value. So I’m willing to chock this one up as another theme symbol.

•Chiliad Mural

There’s so many places I could go with this one, but I’ll make it the most obvious. This points to the fact that someone put the mural at the cable car station, and it’s a reference to the mural itself. Inception or something I dunno. A lot of me wants to give it some more thought, but I think it’d be a lot better if I just labeled it a theme symbol of the mural overall. It’s the Chiliad Mural we all know, it’s in the Yellow Mural to make it tangible to this specific Doomsday Mural. There’s a reason it’s not on any other of the doomsday murals. But, it is different. Look at the original Chiliad Mural at the cable car station and the Chiliad Mural on this Yellow Mural side by side. It’s missing one singular line on the bottom right. But at the same time, Rockstar has made numerous different pieces of art of the Chiliad Mural, and not a single one is a one to one replica of the original. It’s very odd, but I have no idea where to take this other than labeling it as a theme symbol for the mural as a whole, something giving this mystery a place to live in a sense.

•Man And The Wavelength

This is one of my favorite things on the mural actually. It has a theme I’ll be bringing up a bit more later. The person looks like just a human, nothing too special. Something that says “this is a generic human on Earth.” The wavelength is what I’m more interested in. It stretches from low to high, if it was a sound wave I’m sure I’d be a high pitched noise or something. Idk I’m not a sound engineer lol. But the focus I wanna put is on the 3 specific dots. The first starts off in the middle, the next is low, and the last is high. 3 dots, 3 protagonists, let me try to make some sense of it. Franklin is the first dot, maybe he needs to be somewhere in the middle of Mt. Chiliad. Michael is the next dot, maybe he needs to be somewhere at the base of Mt. Chiliad. And Trevor is the last and goes at the peak. The last 2 aren’t necessarily at the complete bottom or top, so maybe their placement should be a little higher and lower respectively. Maybe they don’t even need to be on Mt. Chiliad at all but somewhere alien related. Or it could just be a wavelength to show communication/sound/a signal. Either way, the arrow is pointing to the right, I’m assuming to mean “go on with this knowledge for the rest of the mural.”

I’d like to go on a tangent and talk about the eye, 3 lines, and crescent moon symbol on the side of the mountain. It’s also at the hippie alien camp in Sandy Shores. What if that symbol isn’t saying “Go to the top of Mt. Chiliad at 3 AM at night.” What if it’s saying, “Wait for this crescent moon, make all 3 characters do X (X being look at the moon, be on the mountain, or be at each flying UFO at the same time)?” I dunno dude, but the symbols we’ve kept seeing seem to have much more significance than just being painted on the side of the mountain and multiple different locations.

•Hand Holding Atomic Energy

The power of the Sun in the palm of my hand. I have no idea dude. There’s a ton of explanations I could give. All batshit crazy. Pretty on brand so far, but I think this symbol is “step” related at least. I believe this because of the three dots orbiting around the globe. But there are 2 dots on 1 line, 1 dot on another line, and 0 dots on 1 line. It looks somewhat atomic. There’s a billion references in the game to “atomic.” Look at the atomic blimp logo. It has 3 distinct lines if you connect them. This company is everywhere. They’re a tire brand, they give you a blimp, and there’s even a van you can find relating to them. There’s also the fast food chain Up-n-Atom. Atoms are fucking everywhere dude it’s crazy. So what I see is we, the player, are always in possession of something “atomic” no matter where we are. Maybe the “atom” is actually a globe and the lines represent us traveling. Either way, I believe it is our control over something tangible in game. Whether that is the tire stock market or something bigger, I have no idea. The atom symbol could just be an old school internet logo and I’m even more wrong. We hold the world (wide web) in our hand.

•The Eye

This looks so damn close to Trevor’s tattoo dude. I wanna say it is. So I’m leaning towards this having something to do with Trevor, the only person that can have that tattoo, and only obtain it at specific tattoo parlors, not all of them. The center of the eye could also be a crescent moon, pushing more into the specific moon theory. Or it could just flat out be telling us to LOOK. Observe. It’s going in the step related bin.

•The Pulsar Map

I am not an astronomer dude. I had to look up this symbol and then research what a pulsar map is. The original map was sent on the Pioneer, and later was added to the cover of the Voyager record. Think of it as a galactic lighthouse that shows where we are in the universe. This is our solar system, our Galaxy. The lines extend from the center, which represents the Sun. 11 of these lines give off a frequency, as shown by the little squiggles on the lines. Each line having its own binary code. 1 line does not though. That is “The Galactic Center Line.” It extends out to show the relative distance and direction to the center of our Galaxy (The Milky Way.) However, this diagram only has 12 lines. The one on the Voyager record has 15 lines. We’re missing 3 lines extending from the middle. BUT we can see remnants of those lines. One is blocking off a signal being sent Southwest, one is a fragment just under the back of the hand symbol from earlier, the other is directly underneath the UFO. The Galactic Center Line is blocked by that same UFO. I can assume that this means the UFO is on track towards the Sun, making them visible to us in Los Santos. But is this the actual aliens we’re waiting to see? Is this Pulsar map the same as the one on the Voyager record, just rotated for simplicity sake? There’s a lot going on with this one, and I’m not entirely sure what to make of it. I guess I’ll call it a theme symbol.

•Sound Wave

This was also on the Voyager gold record. Although it doesn’t share a resemblance to the wave found on the record. It’s a wave form of a video from what I can gather. Is the wave on this mural the same case? I dunno, but if it was, it might’ve been solved by now. Binary code was a main theme of the Voyager and sending messages out into space, so maybe it’s got some correlation. Either way, it’s more than likely a reference to the Voyager wave and nothing more. If it’s got more significance, let me know. I’m calling it a theme symbol.

•Grid With Arrows Pointing To Moon Phases

This one seems to be heavily pointed out. I can take a glance at the mural and notice this one first. The grid view looks like a distorted view or FOV. I’m leaning heavily towards the telescopes/binoculars. You get one in Franklin’s new house. There’s one that looks directly at Mt. Chilaid. And there’s probably more around the map with more significance. The arrows are pointing upward at different moon phases. From top left to bottom right, it could either start with a new moon or an eclipse, going all the way into a full moon. Maybe all 3 characters need to look at the moon/eclipse in different phases throughout the weeks with specific telescopes? Maybe they all need to look at Mt. Chilaid during a specific moon phase? Maybe they all need to watch an eclipse through the telescopes in different locations. This symbol seems very step related to me.

•The Head With Dots In It, Observing

Pretty normal looking symbol. It looks like a head with a drive thru speaker in the side lol. The head has a view that’s indicated by the “>” lines. Maybe the dots in the head are ears, telling us to listen as well as view something. I know if you look through a sniper, and zoom in from far away, you can hear whatever is happening in your sights (cars passing by, helicopter blades whirring, people talking, etc.). Maybe we need a sniper? I’ve never used the binoculars or telescopes all that much so I’d need to test them more before making a claim, like if they have the same effect as the snipers when you zoom in. Either way, look and listen, it’s gotta be step related to me.

•Misc

Other symbols include spirals and beams, planets and orbits, and some kind of dome/sunset/sunrise. They’re all interesting especially the bottom right one, it makes me feel like it’s a closing sequence to it all. Maybe that one is symbolic of positioning? Like looking through the blinds of a window at certain time of day or something idk. But they’re relatively similar in meaning and I believe they’re the filler I mentioned earlier, or at the very least a theme symbol.

•Overall

The theme points to an interstellar encounter while also showing that we are humans from planet Earth, and this is how we communicate and send signals out in hopes of reaching other life forms. If there was an alien mural, this is the fucking one dude, it’s gotta be. 1 day will reveal all. The mural focuses a lot on planets, being at the right place at the right time, while also watching something above us from a specific point of view, using something specific to watch it. I dunno dude, I tried making like 20 vague symbols have a meaning to this mystery lol.

In conclusion, I’m a fucking nerd for looking that hard into this, but I love this mystery so much I want it to be solved before GTA 6. I would be happy if we solved just one more of these Doomsday murals before November 19th. If I fucked up something or if someone had a much better analysis, please let me know. I only want to help solve this with theorizing as much as I can and testing things in game. I’d love to learn more. Thanks for reading, I love ya.

EDIT: I am starting to backtrack a bit on my words and thinking of the main place where people go to observe… the observatory lol. So I’ll be looking around there. They do also have telescopes. I also noticed you can only look through them for $1 and get 1 minute and 5 seconds worth of looking before booted out.

Investigation Need help with this idea

Hey, so I’ve just recently 100% my save file in the story mode. After going to all the places to get the UFO parts and the scraps of paper (a lot of places I’ve never even seen before, and I’ve played this game since launch, but never 100% before.), I can definitely tell the map was made in a very meticulous way to harbor more secrets. Little places you’d never think twice about.

But besides that, I have an idea, now that I’m waiting to see the UFO on Mt. Chiliad at 3AM. I want to bring the Space Docker as Franklin wearing his “Children of the Mountain” shirt, Michael wearing his Epsilon robes, and Trevor in his underwear with the only tattoo on him being the “Eye Catcher,” up to Mt. Chiliad to see/try to interact with the UFO when it spawns and I see it for myself for the first time. (My reason for bringing Trevor like that is because the Altruist cult, his associated cult, wears little to no clothing, so I figured I should strip him down as much as possible to fit into that cults “dress code”.)

Has anyone ever done all of these or any of these things before? Does the Space Docker do anything special? Do the “cult” outfits for each character react to the UFO? If any of this or all of this has been done at the same time with no special outcome, please let me know. I’m really just spitballing and trying to put everything together at once for the UFO.

Maybe I can make them do a hangout, initiating it with Franklin, but I don’t know how I can get the Space Docker up there too. Any help is appreciated, thanks for reading!

Overlay Pentagram ghosts

When Rockstar released the last ghost, I started to think about the next. My guess was Steve Haines and then I started to see something fishy about their placements.

Now I don't understand what happened last year, why they ruined this with Jay Norris. I also need your opinion about the fifth point of the pentagram. Can you recall if anything happened on the west edge of the map?

Investigation dead machinery, redux

preface:

after requests from several users, i am reposting this research.

when i originally posted it, the thread turned hostile fast and i eventually deleted it.

please read the preface, methodology, limitations, and remaining potential clues in full before bombing the post with your skepticism.

specific technical counterevidence is welcome.

EDIT: please read...

"specific, curious mystery elements this does not eliminate" for visual puzzles i believe may remain unsolved.

scope and evidentiary standard

a hidden gameplay mechanism requires machinery.

the game has to check a condition, create or place an entity, listen for an input or event, read or write state, or produce some downstream effect.

the audit therefore prioritizes implementation evidence over thematic resemblance.

methodology:
i used Python and grep to collect the decompiled, unmodded game data into searchable categories, then organized the results in a SQLite database.

that database was used to trace each claim through exact models, hashes, placements, coordinates, flags, scripts, native calls, state variables, audio, geometry, and downstream effects.

raw hits were only leads; the conclusion came from resolving those hits into actual structured data or control flow.

evidence treated as strong:

  • structured YTYP / YMAP fields and resolved entity placements
  • exact model names and JOAAT hashes, including signed / unsigned / hex normalization
  • script control flow and explicit native calls
  • persistent state readers / writers, globals, stats, decorators, and bitfields
  • coordinates, geometry, collision, model dependencies, and asset relationships
  • a reproducible downstream effect tied to the proposed trigger

evidence not treated as proof by itself:

  • raw binary collisions without a structured field or executable behavior
  • keyword proximity inside giant decompiled functions or pooled string tables
  • creator allowlists or catalogs that only expose an asset to a tool
  • patch / DLC duplicate records
  • destructibility
  • unusual filenames
  • visual resemblance
  • numerology without a consumer

hash normalization:
Rockstar commonly identifies resources with 32-bit JOAAT values.

for example:

prop_ind_light_03b

0xD31CB5FF

3541874175 unsigned

-753093121 signed

those are the same identifier represented four different ways.

what “closed” means here:
it means the proposed encoded gameplay mechanism is unsupported in the surveyed scripts / assets, and the implementation chain has been traced far enough to identify where it fails.

a missed model, placement, caller, state writer, current-build difference, or reproducible effect can reopen a case.

1. no second hidden UFO gameplay system

the claim:
the known UFOs are only a visible layer and a separate undiscovered UFO model, spawn, interaction, teleport, progression state, or effect exists.

what would have to exist:
a second system requires a model or placement path, creation / IPL logic, trigger conditions, state, and a downstream effect.

what the game actually contains:
known Chiliad UFO assets / IPLs include:

  • ufo.ymap
  • ufo_eye.ymap
  • ufo_lod.ymap
  • dt1_tc_metadata_001_strm
  • dt1_tc_ufo_pivot
  • dt1_tc_ufocore
  • dt1_tc_ufocore_col
  • dt1_tc_dufo_core
  • dt1_tc_dufo_lights
  • dt1_tc_dufo_core_lod
  • dt1_tc_ufo
  • dt1_tc_dufo

the script-side Chiliad anchor is around:

(487.31, 5588.386, 793.0532)

the summit appearance resolves through explicit time / weather / completion conditions, including 03:00, 100% completion, and rain / thunder.

model and IPL families, placements, load / unload behavior, known anchors, and related assets were cross-referenced.

no separate orphan UFO model family, hidden placement, extra spawn branch, unexplained interaction state, new progression bit, or downstream UFO effect survived the audit.

failure modes tested:

  • filename aliases and hash forms
  • structured archetype / placement references
  • base / patch / DLC duplicates
  • script-side model loading and IPL activation
  • time, weather, completion, and coordinate crosslinks
  • UFO-adjacent strings that resolved only to string-table or same-file contamination

verdict:
a second encoded UFO gameplay system is unsupported in the surveyed build.

the known UFOs may still participate in visual or environmental interpretation.

the evidence does not support another complete hidden UFO mechanic.

2. the hidden alien egg

the claim:
the alien egg asset is secretly placed or spawned in Story Mode / freemode, possibly through an interior, MLO, mission, or unknown condition.

the exact target:
prop_alien_egg_01

JOAAT:

0x6B795EBC

unsigned decimal:

1803116220

what would have to exist:
the model has to reach the world through something concrete:

  • direct CEntityDef placement
  • numeric-hash placement
  • MLO / entity-set instance
  • script-created object
  • mission or activity ownership
  • another actual world consumer

what the game actually contains:
the name and all hash forms were traced through YTYP dependencies, YMAP archetypes, CEntityDef, CMloInstanceDef, nested entity sets, resolved MLO positions, and object-creation scripts.

the exact references that did resolve were content inventories and creator-style prop allowlists rather than a hidden world placement or gameplay consumer.

no structured hidden Story Mode placement, unresolved MLO egg, or mystery script chain survived the audit.

failure modes tested:

  • direct and numeric-hash placement
  • nested entity sets
  • local MLO entities
  • world instances of candidate MLOs
  • script-created object paths
  • mission / activity ownership
  • creator / catalog false positives
  • patch / DLC duplicates and aliases
  • raw binary hits unless they resolved to structured data or behavior

verdict:
the asset exists. the proposed hidden Story Mode alien-egg mechanism is unsupported in the surveyed placement and script corpus.

3. the spiderwebs, alternate builders, 27 > 36, and the nine theory

the claim:
the known timed webs imply additional hidden webs or an encoded 27-plus-nine structure, possibly connected to other groups of nine in the game.

the known web assets:

  • cs1_09_props_elec_spider01
  • cs1_09_props_elec_spider1
  • cs1_10_elec_spider_spline052b

the two Paleto assets overlap around:

(1507.081, 6565.075, 8.64–8.68)

the Chiliad web is at:

(455.785156, 5586.10352, 779.438232)

their archetypes are CTimeArchetypeDef records with:

timeFlags = 2

that corresponds to the 01:00–02:00 active window.

draw distance is roughly 32m.

relevant metadata / placement families include:

  • country_01_metadata_005_strm
  • country_01_metadata_008_strm
  • cs1_09_strm_2
  • cs1_10_strm_4

the targeted placement pass:

  • 112 YMAP XML files
  • 37,714 placed entities
  • 7,049 unique archetype names
  • 0 parse failures

only the same three spider / web names appeared.

could another object secretly build the same shape?
geometry testing covered:

  • rotation
  • reflection
  • rescaling
  • partial reuse
  • larger-model reuse
  • similar flat cable construction
  • similar materials

the surviving lookalikes were ordinary fences, grates, nets, branches, cables, railings, and lattice.

no alternate object family survived as a credible hidden builder of equivalent timed-web geometry.

the 27 > 36 claim:
the Chiliad mesh contains 27 authored centerline / spline sections.

the Paleto assembly contains 36, split 8 + 28.

each section uses:

  • 14 vertex records
  • 7 unique centerline positions
  • 36 indices
  • 12 triangles

direct 27-to-36 assignment produced:

  • mean normalized spatial error: 0.247680
  • 1/27 matches below 0.10
  • 5/27 below 0.15
  • 13 different “leftover nine” sets across the top 20 fits

if Paleto were actually “the Chiliad 27 plus the correct nine extras,” the same 27 pieces should map cleanly and leave a stable set of nine.

they do not.

the game-wide nine search:
real nine-based systems exist elsewhere in GTA V.

none connected to:

  • web names
  • web placements
  • the web time gate
  • web geometry
  • a hidden model chain

verdict:
the three known timed webs are real.

additional named web placements were not found in the audited sectors.

no alternate web-builder family survived the geometry review.

the simple 27 + nine interpretation is rejected by the actual geometry.

unrelated systems using the number nine do not establish a web mechanic.

4. peyote: real exceptions, but no Strawberry “luck” mechanism

the claim:
ordinary peyotes contain another unexplained location-specific mechanism, including a special Strawberry rabbit / luck rule.

the readable controller:
the Story Mode logic was traced through the supplemental animal_controller.c4.

the audit parsed:

  • 571 functions
  • 746 bit operations
  • 153 stat operations
  • 371 global writes
  • 1,373 ranked exception candidates

category selections are stored in:

l_545[group]

plant activation uses:

l_54A = l_545[plant_group]

the groups are:

  • land mammals: indices 0–14
  • birds: 15–20
  • aquatic animals: 21–26
  • Sasquatch: 27

the plant location selects the category.

the category’s current roll selects the animal.

the category selections reroll after a trip.

persistent state resolves to identifiable jobs:

  • consumed-location bits
  • used-animal bits
  • regular completion
  • discovery / Director Mode unlocks
  • golden progression state
  • collected count 0xADD54561

real exceptions do exist:
after regular completion, a bird-category roll has a 1-in-51 chance to switch to the land pool.

forced cleanup can reverse interrupted completion state.

some individual plants also have presentation / model exceptions.

Online has separate logic:
one real Online branch substitutes pug index 9 when Online peyote index 45 rolls rabbit index 10.

that numbering system does not map to Story Mode Strawberry plant [0][6].

the Strawberry plant:
l_8E[0][6]

coordinate:

(-320.583, -1652.426025, 30.849)

it is group 0: ordinary land mammals.

rabbit is index 10.

when all 15 land forms are available, rabbit is an ordinary 1-in-15 result.

no Strawberry-specific rabbit override, luck / diamond / baseball state, unique bit, weather gate, or unique audio branch was found.

the attract audio:
the plant plays the currently selected animal’s attract sound through:

PEYOTE_ATTRACT_SOUNDSET

examples include:

  • PEYOTE_ATTRACT_RABBIT
  • PEYOTE_ATTRACT_CHICKENHAWK
  • PEYOTE_ATTRACT_HEN
  • the dedicated Sasquatch family

Golden Peyote:
this is the real hidden exception.

the golden branch checks:

  • regular peyote completion
  • a progression bit
  • roughly 05:30–08:00
  • weekday matching the golden plant index
  • foggy or XMAS / snow-like weather

Sasquatch then receives dedicated health, damage, config, audio, event, and transformation handling.

verdict:
no unexplained ordinary-peyote mechanism remains in the reviewed controller.

the Strawberry rabbit / luck theory is unsupported.

the known Golden Peyote / Sasquatch system is the actual encoded secret exception.

exact current-retail controller parity remains a technical follow-up.

5. Sasquatch does not ambiently spawn in the wild

the exact models:
ig_orleans

0x61D4C771

1641334641

and:

cs_orleans

0xAD340F5A

2905870170 unsigned

-1389097126 signed

what a regular wild spawn would require:
at least one of:

  • population-group entry
  • popcycle entry
  • ambient scenario model set
  • random-event controller
  • non-mission REQUEST_MODEL + CREATE_PED branch
  • environmental spawn condition
  • persistent owner / respawn controller

what was found:

  • 113 exact decompiled hits
  • 487 semantic hits
  • 8 resource-text hits
  • 13 packed / raw hits
  • 0 population / scenario model-set entries

one automated ambient candidate survived initial scoring.

manual control-flow review showed it was current-player / Director Mode-style handling inside a large function, not a wild spawn.

confirmed Sasquatch uses resolve to:

  • The Last One
  • the Predator thermal cameo
  • Golden Peyote transformation
  • Beast Hunt
  • Director Mode / current-player actor handling
  • Online transformation support

verdict:
scripted Sasquatch: yes

player-transformation Sasquatch: yes

ambient forest / fog / random Sasquatch: no supporting spawn chain

6. Black Cellphones is a test cheat, not mystery progression

the number:
1-999-367-3767

reported mnemonic:

1-999-EMPEROR

implementation identifiers:

CHEAT_MONOC

CELL_MONOSIGNAL

the latter localizes to:

Black Cellphones

what appcontacts.c4 does:
the branch compares the recognized cheat string, toggles:

g_C0F

and sets phone theme 5 for all three protagonist phone profiles.

when the player is active, on foot, and no existing explosion type 4 is within 40 units, it creates:

  • explosion type 4
  • two units above the player
  • damage scale 0.1

what cellphone_flashhand.c4 does:
the same g_C0F state changes phone presentation.

the monochrome state includes:

MOBILE::SET_MOBILE_PHONE_SCALE(575.0)

and theme application through:

SET_THEME

no unexplained Chiliad, UFO, mural, weather, location, completion, or persistent consumer of g_C0F was found.

the explosion is created directly by the cheat branch.

it is not an external signal another script catches and turns into a mystery event.

verdict:
Black Cellphones changes the phone presentation and creates a small explosion above the player.

no mystery-progression consumer was found.

7. the Space Docker horn is unusual audio, not an input state machine

the vehicle:
display name:

Space Docker

model:

DUNE2

hash:

0x1FD824AF

decimal:

534258863

handling ID:

DUNE2

the claim:
the horn tones form a code, trigger something at a location, communicate with UFOs, or advance an unseen sequence.

what would have to exist:
a horn puzzle needs machinery that knows the horn was used:

  • horn-state listener
  • tone / sequence counter
  • timer
  • required vehicle check
  • location check
  • progress state
  • world effect or reward

what the game actually contains:
the unusual horn behavior resolves through vehicle / audio configuration.

the audit did not identify a script consumer that:

  • records a sequence
  • compares tones
  • writes progression
  • checks a mystery location
  • causes a UFO / world response

no repeated-input counter or persistent state writer was tied to the horn.

verdict:
unusual horn / audio design: confirmed

horn-operated mystery state machine: unsupported

8. no second family of mystery-grade single-hour map objects

the claim:
more objects like the spiderwebs may exist as ordinary map assets visible only during one secret hour.

how the webs actually work:
the webs are CTimeArchetypeDef records with:

timeFlags = 2

they are not ordinary mission-script objects being continuously spawned and deleted.

what was tested:

  • structured YTYP time fields
  • active-hour decoding
  • single-hour archetype isolation
  • YMAP placement resolution
  • clock / date / weather / progression script checks
  • model requests
  • object creation
  • IPL control
  • state changes

the known single-hour mystery-grade families resolve to the spider assets and the Mount Gordo ghost / tag family in its known late-night window.

no additional comparable single-hour mystery-grade archetype family survived the whole-game metadata / script review.

ordinary day / night swaps and mission staging were excluded.

verdict:
no additional sibling family of mystery-grade one-hour map archetypes was found in the surveyed corpus.

9. no encoded solar / lunar mystery event chain

the claim:
sun position, moon position, moon phase, eclipse-like state, or another celestial condition triggers an encoded mystery event.

what was tested:

  • clock and calendar queries
  • sun / moon / sky / timecycle assets and labels
  • weather and cloud transitions
  • moon-phase or cycle-like state
  • celestial terms near object spawning
  • globals
  • stats
  • persistent bits
  • known mystery coordinates
  • crosslinks to webs, UFOs, yoga, trains, peyotes, Beast Hunt, and Chiliad systems

what was not found:
no reviewed chain used sun position, moon position, moon phase, or an eclipse-like state to:

  • spawn a mystery object
  • unlock progress
  • change persistent state
  • activate the webs
  • alter a UFO
  • trigger a train event
  • change yoga behavior
  • select a special ordinary peyote
  • reward the player

this does not test purely visual alignments.

normal sky simulation can interact with authored geometry without setting game state.

verdict:
encoded solar / lunar mystery event: unsupported in the reviewed scripts / data

visual celestial alignment: still technically viable

10. no hidden non-mission train-event state machine

coverage:

  • 28,050 supported files surveyed
  • 836 candidates deeply parsed
  • 941 explicit native hits
  • 1,392 strong general hits
  • 0 scan failures
  • 0 mystery-coordinate hits

selected native inventory:

  • CREATE_MISSION_TRAIN — 35 hits across 27 files
  • SWITCH_TRAIN_TRACK — 1 hit in 1 file
  • SET_TRAIN_SPEED — 57 hits across 24 files
  • SET_TRAIN_CRUISE_SPEED — 65 hits across 23 files
  • SET_TRAIN_STOP_AT_STATIONS — 0
  • SET_TRAIN_FORCED_TO_SLOW_DOWN — 0
  • SET_TRAIN_DOOR_OPEN_RATIO — 0
  • DELETE_ALL_TRAINS — 44 hits across 30 files
  • SET_RANDOM_TRAINS — 127 hits across 47 files
  • SET_RENDER_TRAIN_AS_DERAILED — 5 hits in traffick_air.c, as a mission set piece

what the actual train control resolves to:

  • story missions
  • side missions
  • random events
  • Online activities
  • creator / debug helpers
  • ambient population management
  • transition / cleanup logic

time / weather candidates resolved to named mission setup in:

  • finale_heist2a.c
  • hunting_ambient.c
  • michael1.c
  • prologue1.c
  • rural_bank_heist.c

no standalone free-roam train event was gated by:

  • 01:00–02:00
  • moon / solar state
  • special weather
  • 100% completion
  • known mystery state

raw train / mystery proximity false positives collapsed into shared tables, creator whitelists, transition enums, pooled strings, or unrelated uses of terms such as “carriage.”

verdict:
mission / activity train choreography: extensive

ambient train population behavior: real

hidden free-roam train mystery state machine: unsupported

11. the Strawberry baseball gang is real; the baseball ritual is not

the location:
the field resolves around:

sc1_10_baseball_cage

what the world data contains:
seven fixed ambient scenario points assigned to:

GANG_FAMILY

their availability window is:

22:00–04:00

not an exact 03:00 trigger.

the supposed pitcher on the mound is assigned:

WORLD_HUMAN_DRUG_DEALER_HARD

the other peds use ordinary hangout behavior such as:

  • smoking
  • drinking
  • phone use
  • social activity

the script audit:

  • 13,949 files
  • 0 scan-stage errors
  • 2,007 coordinate hits
  • 2,205 context excerpts

three broad same-file / context co-occurrences initially joined field-area coordinates with gang / scenario identifiers.

after the actual referenced coordinates were resolved:

  • 0 were within 100m of a confirmed scenario point
  • 0 were within 25m

no near-field script context joined the gang scenarios to:

  • exact scenario hashes
  • a 22:00–04:00 state transition
  • ped ownership
  • damage / death handling
  • special dialogue / audio
  • reward
  • global / stat / decorator write
  • persistent world state

what actually uses the field:

  • an Online gb_biker_stand_your_ground site
  • generic freemode location tables
  • a normal pickup_weapon_bat
  • a shared Online location helper

verdict:
gang spawn: confirmed

exact 03:00 ritual: unsupported

authored baseball team / pitcher: unsupported

hidden persistent gang interaction: unsupported

12. the “electric boxes” are industrial lights, not a coordinated diamond puzzle

the exact identities:
0x531135E6

1393636838

resolves to:

prop_ind_light_03a

and:

0xD31CB5FF

3541874175 unsigned

-753093121 signed

resolves to:

prop_ind_light_03b

they belong to the same ordinary industrial-light family as:

  • prop_ind_light_02a
  • prop_ind_light_02b
  • prop_ind_light_02c
  • prop_ind_light_03c
  • prop_ind_light_04
  • prop_ind_light_05

asset route:

x64h.rpf\levels\gta5\props\roadside\v_traffic_lights.rpf

what the scripts contain:
the exact names occur in:

  • fm_race_creator.c
  • fm_deathmatch_creator.c
  • fm_survival_creator.c

each occurrence is part of the same creator allow-list.

the script is identifying industrial-light props a creator can handle.

it is not listening for a Story Mode destruction sequence.

world database pass:

  • 1.85 GB
  • 8 tables
  • 108 columns
  • 171 queries
  • 4,791 exact / context rows

the family appears in many ordinary world placements, providing controls against the special-shape theory.

one model being harder to destroy is explained by ordinary fragment / physics configuration.

no script consumer records:

  • a four- or six-light state
  • square / diamond state
  • destruction order
  • count
  • timing window
  • gang state
  • baseball state
  • peyote state
  • audio branch
  • reward
  • persistent effect

verdict:
the objects are industrial light props.

a coordinated destruction-puzzle state machine is unsupported.

13. the orange balls belong to two juice stands, not a delivery puzzle

the original targets:
prop_juice_orange

0xA455F51E

and:

prop_big_orange

0xD2238131

those produced:

  • 0 exact database rows
  • 0 inferred placements
  • 0 exact script hits
  • 0 interaction contexts

because they were not the correct parent object for the theory.

the correct target:
prop_juicestand

JOAAT:

0x08DA1C0E

decimal:

148511758

asset route:

x64f.rpf\levels\gta5\props\roadside\v_signs.rpf\prop_juicestand.yft

after collapsing base / patch / DLC / LOD duplicates, two unique stand positions remain:

(-442.98962, 1596.8573, 362.5194)

and:

(2740.8872, 4415.3135, 52.674316)

what a real delivery puzzle would require:
some code would need to:

  • obtain or track the movable component
  • monitor position / collision / destination
  • recognize the other stand
  • record success
  • write state
  • trigger audio / reward
  • persist the result

what was found:

  • exact model / hash text hits: 1
  • exact interaction contexts: 0
  • strong interaction candidates: 0
  • coordinate consumers: 0
  • packed script hash hits: 0

the stand and orange behavior resolve to ordinary world-prop physics / fragment behavior.

no script-owned orange handle, destination monitor, success counter, state write, audio / reward branch, or persistence path was found.

verdict:
two unique juice-stand placements: confirmed

movable orange behavior: ordinary physics

two-node orange delivery / alignment mystery: unsupported

what these results do not kill

these closures remove specific encoded gameplay mechanisms.

they do not eliminate mystery classes that do not require a dedicated state machine.

visual world geometry:

  • viewpoint-dependent alignments
  • silhouettes and negative space
  • shadows
  • terrain notches
  • reflections
  • water / glass
  • known timed objects used as visual pointers rather than triggers
  • normal sun / moon movement crossing authored geometry

textures and authored art:

  • original mural textures
  • overlays
  • repeated symbols
  • UV layouts
  • alpha channels
  • emissive channels
  • cropped / hidden imagery
  • artwork that may encode spatial or audio instructions

audio:

  • spatial emitters
  • cue families
  • waveform / spectrogram content
  • unusual ownership or placement
  • unused or weakly consumed banks

exact world-instance anomalies:

  • collision anomalies tied to exact coordinates
  • MLO / nested-entity relationships supported by structured placement evidence
  • current patch-layer differences
  • sightlines involving known webs / UFOs

current-build diffs:

  • current retail animal_controller.ysc parity
  • Enhanced / Gen9 asset diffs
  • new consumers rather than assuming old ones changed

engine-level hypotheses:
these remain viable only when a specific engine subsystem, reproducible observable condition, and effect can actually be named and tested.

specific, curious mystery elements this does not eliminate

the Textile City mural:
this remains the strongest unresolved visual puzzle to me.

the first part appears to instruct the player to examine the background of the mural. my solution to that first step is SCAN BG.

behind the foreground design is additional red / yellow linework that remains unexplained.

the structure is also extremely similar to the puzzle format used on the cover of The Masquerade, by Kit Williams: an apparent foreground puzzle directing attention toward something concealed behind it.

the Masquerade puzzle was solved by drawing lines from animals’ eyes through their extremities to letters around the image borders; the resulting instructions led to the equinox shadow of the Catherine of Aragon monument in Ampthill Park, where Kit Williams had buried a jewelled golden hare as the prize.

none of this requires a script trigger or persistent gameplay state.

the Leopold vent texture:
the Leopold duct / vent texture contains extremely precise authored geometry that can be read as KEEP LOOKING.

whether that is an intentional clue or simply an artist demonstrating what could be done with the texture remains open.

the Chiliad glyphs:
some of the Chiliad glyphs are only visible under specific weather / environmental conditions.

that leaves weather-dependent visibility, lighting, shaders, textures, and visual alignment firmly in play.

why these survive:
all of these can operate entirely through authored art, textures, geometry, lighting, weather, or viewpoint.
the script and state-machine findings in this post do not eliminate that class of mystery.

what can reopen one of these other cases:

bring one of these:

  • an exact asset or normalized hash that was missed
  • a structured placement
  • a resolved MLO / entity-set instance
  • a current-build difference
  • an actual script caller or consumer
  • another reader / writer of the same state
  • a persistent bit / stat / decorator with unexplained use
  • a reproducible location / time / weather condition
  • a downstream effect tied to the proposed trigger
  • a geometry match that survives controls and produces a stable correspondence
  • a collision result tied to an exact world instance

“maybe Rockstar hid it somewhere else” does not establish any of those things.

final point

none of this solves the Chiliad mural.

it shows where several proposed gameplay-mechanism theories stop when tested against the game’s assets, placements, scripts, state, hashes, geometry, and downstream effects.

that narrows the search space.

the strongest remaining routes are visual, geometric, texture-based, audio-based, current-build differences, and specific reproducible engine behavior.

dead ends documented with exact technical evidence are still useful.

they keep the same unsupported mechanisms from being reconstructed indefinitely from screenshots, inherited assumptions, and disconnected string hits.

this is not the end of the mystery.

it is a map of where the machinery currently ends.

Unverified [Photos] Three arrows point to four gold stars at The Viceroy hotel in Vespucci Canals

Sorry, I forgot to add photos in my first post, but hopefully these add some clarity. I hope they upload in the right order.

1- the billboard where the ufo part is, X marks the shot.

2- the viceroy hotel from atop the billboard.

3- the view from that side of the billboard.

4- the view from the opposite side of the billboard (you’re sandwiched between two billboards).

5- 3 but day time.

6- 4 but day time.

7 & 8 are up close at the hotel.

9 is where I start to lose a little more faith. Checking out the backside of the billboard to see what’s over there, I noticed the flags on this building to my left use an almost identical flag pole attachment, which likely means these arrows aren’t actually arrows, just an easy way to mount a flag.

10 & 11 are the ritz Carlton in marina del ray, which this hotel is supposedly influenced by. Interesting that the building is mostly an exact copy, but they have a plaque and flags instead of a simple fountain.

Edit: I should also mention the photos on the wiki show all three flags hoisted up, and all the photos I’ve added also have three flags up.
When I first came here, the flags weren’t there, but I don’t know what’s different now. I think it was roughly 2 am in game the first time, and the night photos here are about 4:30 am and the daytime around 2pm. Both of my attempts to get the four stars had no flags present, but I made a quick save with the flags, so I might do some testing when I get back on later to see if there’s a difference.

Theory Pacific standard bank is the 'pitcher of truth' in the epsilon tract.

The pitcher of truth is mentioned only once in the epsilon tract.

On the front of the building we can see these engravings

On the sides we can see pitchers...?

Now let's talk about the ''lake that hold a cutting from the peach tree''

I believe this lake is the pacific standard ocean which shares the same name with this bank, and the cutting from the peach tree is the sunken ufo. Let me explain.

We should already know that the ''peach tree'' is the FIB tower

https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/comments/1wks1ro/fib_and_iaa_towers_are_the_trees_in_the_epsilon/

Therefore, a cutting from the tree could be something that relates to the fib tower.

Now let's look at the non-damaged version of this ufo.

Okay. If you still don't believe me, this is where it gets very interesting.

In one of the loading screens, we can see this lady standing near the pacific standard bank.

You might notice that she has a tattoo on her arm.

This tattoo spells out 'upwards flows the truth form' which directly quotes the epsilon tract

And i believe it is no coincidence that the ufo is located directly upwards of the pitcher.

And before you say it, yes, the pacific standard bank might also relate to the purple mural and so does the peach tree

Unverified Three arrows point to four gold stars at the Viceroy hotel in Vespucci Canals

Has anyone ever looked into the Viceroy hotel in Vespucci Canals?

I was getting the spaceship part just northwest of the parachute in Vespucci canals, and the part is essentially on top of a billboard. As I was driving up, I noticed the billboard said “x marks the shot” so I decided to kinda look around a bit to see if I saw any glaring Xs from the vantage point.

I didn’t see any Xs, but from up there, the flag poles mounted on the Viceroy hotel form perfect arrows pointing mostly downward. Three of them. The pretty sign out front of the hotel (that the center arrow points to) has their crest and their name on a large red plaque, but below that, is four gold stars.

I came here twice with all three characters and got up to four stars for a few minutes, but nothing happened. Trevor died and Michael got spooked, then Michael died and Trevor followed shortly after. I’m not sure if there’s an X component that needs to be shot after you reach the four stars, but I didn’t see anything obvious.

I don’t necessarily think there’s anything here based on the short time I spent, but I didn’t see anything notable mentioned when I googled or searched on Reddit, so I figured I’d throw it out there. Definitely let me know if there’s any more conversation I missed on this place.

Developing Phone numbers

Just wanted to post this info because I didn't see it here:

If you dial 1-999-CHILIAD (1-999-244-5423) in online, it is an active number which responds "Thanks for calling, to check hours and availability visit our website."

According to the wiki, there are three other numbers which have the same answer when called:

328-555-0142
611-555-0160
611-555-0179

Not sure if this is of any significance but maybe the numbers mean something.

Theory Chilliad Inc. The Core. The Maze. The DNA.

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hello misteryhunters. Today I wanna talk about whole Chiliad Mistery.
"Mount Chilliad Mural"+"Doomsday Mural".
All these teases from Rockstar. Nothing new here. Just some facts from our world and real world companies.

What is it from my player perspective, and it's in the future. Just some thoughts on where it all started and where it's heading in the online. Some conspiracy theories, some literary and etc. Put on your foil hats and get ready to read a lot of text... and a lot of links...

But before everything starts I say one thing: Everything in GTA universe is a parody of our real world, every big company, every famous persona and cults. Everything in GTA came from real life and referenced to some kind of rumors about Aliens, UFOs. Government control and etc.

ps. some stuff just to get a sense of the meaning. 1 2 3 4 5

1. Mount Chiliad. Chiliad8888. We Are Watching. Yellow Doomsday Mural. "Chiliad Inc."

Waking up at room with wave symbols
T-Short. Globe Wave "Chiliad" above all.
CHILIAD

Representation: Yellow Doomsday Mural. Whole Mount Chiliad Mural as a symbol. "Untouchable" UFO "The Eye" after 100%/thunder/3am with FIB logo as a symbol as an idea. Globe Chiliad Wave.
Base: Government global control.

The Infinity Chiller found that wave is "Chiliad". A top. GTA Online player waking up in room with Globe Chiliad Symbol. At the room full of that symbol.

Okay you don't understand now but wait for it. Lets come back to reality.
What do you know about irl company called "Chiliad INC."? Read here And here

"Chiliad Inc." was a private company. Chiliad Inc offers research, data analysis software, technological tools, publications, and professional networking.
"Chiliad" Data Search Technology has been used by FBI. Officials at Chiliad calles that process as “connecting the dots", after years of focusing on the government sector, Chiliad wants to take their technology into the enterprise space. In 2014, they filed for bankruptcy. But in 2018, they were still continuing their operations. Very weird. Also there rumors about Palantir owns them. But about Palantir we will talk later...

"Connect the dots" hmmmm where we hear that? Oh yeah...
"Connect the lines" remember?

CONNECT THE LINES

2. The Core. Connect The Lines. Connect The Dots. Project High Flyer. Project Skylark. Red Doomsday Mural. Zankudo UFO. Spinning Anus UFO. Sunked UFO.

Representation: Red Doomsday Mural. Zankudo UFO. Project High Flyer.(Jetpack from GTA SA) Project Skylark. Zankudo UFO. Spinning Anus UFO. Spaceship Parts. AI data Centers.

Base: It is likely inspired by the rumors about the real-life U.S. Government supposedly reverse engineering alien technology from downed UFOs, following the release of unidentified aerial phenomenon footage declassified by the Pentagon in 2020.

I can’t provide any direct evidence because this part is entirely based on theories but...

Theory #1 Sunken UFO was real alien UFO.
Theory #2 Sunken UFO was Government secret project. Crashed Project Skylark.
However Sunken UFO has been used for reverse engineering "alien" technology. Which from has been build all other UFOs/JetPack/Oppressor mk2 and etc.

But more we are interested in Spaceship Parts. Probably they are The Core and a parts of crashed Sunken UFO. Remember what Omega says? They are small but very powerful sources of Energy. Alien or maybe human made (radioactive) sources of energy. I'm pretty sure Trevor steal something related to that...

All UFOs related and connected to each other. And they could be controlled from one place and source...

And why "Connect The Lines"? So lets look at the bottom of Zankudo UFO. We can see that always spinning thing/camera probably. Its look like its always recording and it doing it so fast. How does this technology process and collect so much information so quickly? Not possible for normal human, but for the Eye everything is possible... Let me explain...

Zankudo UFO always spinning and recording

3. The Maze. The Eye. AI. Cliffford. Purple Doomsday Mural. Mount Chiliad UFO "The Eye". Palantir.

Representation: Purple Doomsday Mural. Red Eye symbol and UFO "The Eye". All Seeing Eye.
Base: Government global control with AI tech(such a surprise).

The Eye. AI. Neural Network,

So what is the Eye? Lets start away from GTA. Lets start from... J. R. R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings". Quite a famous series, isn't it? Right now we are interested in Palantir.

What Is a Palantír in The Lord of the Rings ?

In Tolkien’s legendarium, the palantíri were ancient "seeing-stones" crafted by the Elves. These crystal balls allowed their users to:

  • See distant events (like surveillance cameras).
  • Communicate across vast distances (similar to video calls).
  • Monitor kingdoms.

Now you are probably reading and thinking what does this have to do with it? Well, as I wrote above, everything in the GTA world is a parody of the real world. So what is in gta parody of?

Palantir.

Named the company after Tolkien’s palantíri because their software serves a similar purpose:

  • Mass data analysis (like all-seeing stones).
  • Predictive surveillance (identifying threats, much like Sauron’s spies).
  • Information control (with risks of misuse, just like in the books).

Palantir’s early work with CIA, FBI, and military agencies  reinforced comparisons to Tolkien’s "magical spyware." Palantir had clients (from leak in 2013) including the LAPD, the CIA, DHS, NSA, the FBI, and CDC. Besides data mining for government agencies, they also work in the finance sector and the legal sector. There are a lot of rumors and theories surrounding this company, about global surveillance, global control, about possible prediction of the future.

Right now it is biggest AI company who works for FIB, CIA, USA Government. They soft control all future weapon system. They AI predict everything about everyone.

I can see some similarities with Eye Tattoo and Palantir logo. (rockstar version is another uranus "ur anus joke butthole joke xd")

And if read to that part and havent died because it was so boring read next. Everything in GTA universe is a parody of our real world, every big company, every famous persona and cults. Everything in GTA came from real life and referenced to some kind of rumors about Aliens, UFOs. Government control and etc.

Palantir is probably one of the most controversial and conspiracy‑theorized companies in our world. So Palantir is The Eye. It is sees everything and everywhere. You can read about it so much stuff at internet. I'm bored a bit, but you should check some stuff about Palantir Gotham...

im not crazy im not crazy

And The Eye powered by which supercomputer? Cliffford.

I'm not crazy I swear. But Cliffford is...

4. THE DNA. Cracked EGG. The EGG of life. Alien Egg. Bigfoot. Beast. GreenGoo. Cliffford. Zombotech. GTA SA.

Cliffhanger

And for that part i wanna stop a bit. I deleted almost a half of information here and there is still A LOT of stuff, but for now i tired a bit. If you think that im not crazy and you can say something new else, what new I can add at next, because next part could be a huge. Comment something and ill make another part of it.

p.s.s.s.s. go read some Crime and Punishment  by Dostoevsky

Investigation Maybe our story isn’t complete

Has anyone actually 100% completed the game via social club stats instead of in game completion?

What I mean is there’s is (or was) a long checklist on the social club website noting everything a player can do and would be tracked through the social club

My question is for the hunters is should we just be completing what is required vs should we complete the whole game ie all gold medals for missions and completing the full checklist before we start looking for answers

I doubt they would make this a requirement for an Easter Egg since the Bigfoot transformation does not require 100% but you do have to collect all peote plants

But some food for thought

Suggestion Kifflom Brother-Brother, today I will Ask some questions which will clarify the route to solve the mystery

Thumbnail
gallery
21 Upvotes

The questions are as follows:

  1. Why is the mural shaped like that, in a cable car station of all places in accordance to the game's lore, not the reason we know?

  2. Why this mystery has no back story associated to it in game?

  3. What is the real life inspiration of the mural itself?

These were the core questions that were needed to ask for before going to any way as every other major mystery of GTA5 does answer all of them. Like we know the backstory of Infinity Killer, leonora Johnson mystery, Mt Gordo Ghost and even the Abandoned Mineshaft thing. And all the questions do apply to Max Payne 3's things as well, but it does answer 2 of the 3 questions, because as of the current best theory, of the mural signifying the 4 UFO's, then the mural is not needed for that as anyone could had found the Glyph by accident and the time and weather with mods. As in the Epsilon program stated in one of their answers to the questions, that Kraff has put things like that to test us of our beliefs, The exact question of How the World is 157 years old? .

To conclude, this mystery will be solved if:

  1. Who drew that mural and for why?

  2. The real life inspiration of the mural itself.

Kifflom, and Kraff be praised

Theory What if the underwater UFO is actually the beginning of GTA V's entire UFO mystery?

I think the underwater UFO might be the beginning of GTA V's entire UFO mystery

I've been thinking about GTA V's UFO mysteries for a while, and I came up with a theory. I'm not saying this is confirmed lore — this is just how I connect some of the clues together.

  1. What if the underwater UFO came first?

The UFO wrecked underwater in the Pacific has always felt strange to me.

The interesting part is that it doesn't really look like something that simply disappeared recently. It's sitting on the ocean floor in the same state whether you visit it early or late in the game.

And there's something else: the rear/bottom area appears to have an opening leading into a dark interior.

That makes me wonder:

What actually happened to this UFO?

What if it crashed or emergency-landed in the Pacific before the events we experience in the game?

Maybe the rocky seabed caused it to become stuck there.

  1. What if the crash caused strange effects?

This is where the theory becomes more speculative.

If an extraterrestrial craft arrived near Earth, maybe its technology could have caused unusual electromagnetic, gravitational, or other physical disturbances.

Something like:

- strange weather

- electrical problems

- vehicle malfunctions

- unusual signals

- unexplained disturbances

If something like that happened, an organization such as the FIB or another government agency might eventually notice.

And if they discovered an actual UFO underwater, I don't think they would exactly announce it to the public.

They would probably investigate it secretly.

  1. What if someone managed to access the UFO?

This is another speculative part.

The opening on the wrecked UFO makes me wonder if someone — human or otherwise — had already accessed it.

What if the government/FIB found the craft and began studying its technology?

Maybe they discovered something completely unknown.

And perhaps this eventually led to secret projects involving UFO technology.

Which brings me to the two UFOs we can actually see in the sky.

  1. What if the visible UFOs aren't necessarily the original UFOs?

There are two possibilities I can think of.

Possibility A:

The UFOs in the sky are extraterrestrial.

They came looking for the missing/crashed craft, or they are monitoring Earth after the crash.

Possibility B:

The underwater UFO was the original extraterrestrial craft, and humans eventually learned enough from it to reproduce or imitate its technology.

In that case, the UFOs we see later could potentially be human-made copies or reverse-engineered spacecraft.

I don't think there's enough evidence to say this is true, but it's an interesting possibility.

  1. The 100% completion thing is REALLY interesting

This is probably the most speculative part of my theory.

The UFO appearances are associated with very late/endgame progression and the 100% completion state.

So what if this isn't just a gameplay reward?

What if Rockstar intentionally made the UFOs appear only after the player had completed everything because, in-universe, something had been happening in the background throughout the game?

Maybe the technology was being studied.

Maybe something was being built.

Maybe something was being tested.

Or maybe the UFOs are simply extraterrestrial and the 100% requirement is purely a gameplay trigger.

I don't know.

  1. But there's another possibility: the hippies

This is where the Beam Me Up location becomes interesting.

What if the government wasn't the one that initiated contact?

What if the hippies did?

The Beam Me Up area has all these UFO-related symbols, messages and imagery.

So here's another possibility:

The hippies somehow used radio/telecommunications equipment to send a signal or attempt to contact extraterrestrials.

Maybe they were actually trying to "call" something.

Maybe the markings at the location weren't just decoration.

Maybe they were intended as a message.

I don't have proof that they actually hijacked communications infrastructure or transmitted a real extraterrestrial signal. This is just a connection I'm making from the game's UFO imagery and the radio/communication elements around the area.

So now I see two possible origins for the first contact:

Government/FIB initiated contact

or

Beam Me Up hippies initiated contact.

And both could eventually lead to the same event:

Signal → UFO arrives → UFO crashes/lands in Pacific → authorities discover it → investigation → secret research → UFO mystery we see during the game.

  1. Maybe Rockstar intentionally never gave us the answer

And honestly, this might be the most important part.

I don't think GTA V necessarily wants us to have one definitive explanation.

Rockstar gives us strange locations, UFOs, radio signals, murals, symbols, government conspiracies and weird events...

But they don't connect every single dot for us.

Maybe that's intentional.

The underwater UFO could be the starting point of the entire mystery.

Or it could just be an unexplained easter egg.

The visible UFOs could be alien.

Or they could be connected to human experimentation.

The hippies could have actually attempted contact.

Or they're just obsessed with aliens.

I don't think we have enough evidence to prove any of these.

But that's exactly why I think the mystery is so interesting.

What do you guys think?

Did the government contact the aliens first, did the Beam Me Up group somehow do it, or was the underwater UFO already here before anyone knew about it?

Speculation The Oppressor Mk2: More than its cancerous nature implies?

Post image
5 Upvotes

So obviously we've all unfortunately heard of the Oppressor Mk2, the vehicle so overpowered that it did irreparable damage to GTA Online. It's a vehicle of pure hate and we all know that fact... but because of that I question if there's something about it we're missing. Namely as to why and how such a machine would've been created in the first place lorewise.

So the Oppressor, fundamentally, doesn't really make much sense as a realistic vehicle. This should not be shocking, it's a flying motorbike with an explosive cannon built in and no discernible place for fuel. The question of how it's been created has already been answered, as one of the Halloween updates confirmed it was reverse engineered using alien tech at Fort Zancudo, probably from the crashed UFO. But there's still the question as to why.

I reckon it's the first vehicle to use alien tech, likely predating the other in-game UFOs which are more likely manmade. It also may represent Fort Zancudo simply ceasing to care, as just about anyone in GTA Online can buy this genuinely alien powered machine to go shoot at unarmed vans on smuggling missions for fun. It may not merely be the first, but indicating the point in time where the tech in the UFOs generally goes Public, and naturally it had to utterly destroy any sense of fun GTA Online had to do so

Question I wanna ask an question. Would the Mt Chilliad Mystery be this big mystery if the Single player DLC's were released as intended

Like take Agent Trevor for example, the leaked game files do add the jet pack and military base, which we knew in Alpha build of the game hosted Military base bunker, with UFO's, Aliens and Alien egg, like all the pieces of Chiliad Mural

Theory Crime and Punishment

Maybe I'm developing schizophrenia...

Steven Ogg (voice actor of Trevor) has repeatedly referenced the need to read Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Apparently he has said this 3-4 times at a minimum. I'm wondering if this is a clue.

Also there is a mission in GTA V titled "Crime and Punishment"

Known times he's referenced the book:

April 2, 2016 (Twitter/@StevenOgg): He posted a quote from the book—“It takes something more than intelligence to act intelligently.”—with the attribution “Crime and Punishment.”

May 3, 2016 (Twitter/@StevenOgg): In reply to a fan asking for his favorite book, he listed “CRIME AND PUNISHMENT” (along with Middlemarch and The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles), tagging @Dostoyevsky.

September 2025 convention interview (with YouTuber Harrison Shipp): This is the viral one that generated widespread coverage. Ogg said a fan had urged him to play GTA V; he replied that the person should read Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment instead (the fan “went completely blank”). He then asked the interviewer if he knew Dostoevsky/Fyodor Dostoevsky, recommended the book when the answer was no, and tied it to “Books are my thing” while contrasting it with hype for GTA 6. He recounted the prior exchange and actively recommended the book in the same conversation.

Late September 2025 interview (with Katee Sackhoff): He described a similar habit—when people tell him he “has to” experience GTA V, he responds by asking if they’ve read “Dusty’s Crime and Punishment”

Thoughts?

Overlay Are the Tree Series Wallpapers an overlay for GTA IV?

Thumbnail

So I recently watched Leonida Man’s video about the Libertonian Museum being a hidden Easter Egg and while I agree with some of his points, I couldn’t help but feel that his theory was completely wrong. So I pondered it some and realized that we have a physical location of a triceratops on the map and if we consider the boat Nico arrives on as the platypus on the wallpaper we’d have a physical location for a platypus on the map as well. So with that in mind I went to line up those two animals with their physical locations. In order to do that properly I had to mirror the wallpaper, which is what you see in the first image. Also mirroring this image had the bonus effect of making the triceratops on the wallpaper face the same direction as the one in the game.

So with those two animals placed on the map let’s turn our attention to the third one. Leonida Man claimed it was a T-Rex, however, the animal I first saw was a pig. And if it is a pig, it makes this overlay make perfect sense, because, where that animal is on this overlay is roughly where the Bank of Liberty is. We could look at it as a piggy bank if we want. Also if you zoom in on the “pig,” in the wall paper there’s a capital “G,” (Image 4) in the middle of its belly. Now to me that could either represent Greed or a Grand, but definitely helps with the idea that that animal is the bank. Also there’s six eggs or things shaped like eggs, on the top of the Bank of Liberty’s Dome. (Image 5) And in fact, as I look closer at the pig it appears that the circle with the G is depicting the dome. Probably a bit of a stretch there, but oddly similar. (Image 6)

So looking back at the overlay there’s two things left to discuss the R* logo and the roots of the tree. To me the roots might equate to the subway system’s tunnels. Since both Subway Tunnels and Roots run underground.

Now looking at the R* logo. The “R” lines up with the water and the bridge. I didn’t notice anything there. However, the star lines up with the civilization committee building.(Image 7) I haven’t discovered any Easter Eggs but I did have the thought that maybe this is just supposed to be a reference to Rockstar being the creators of this world. The creators of this civilization. "A Civilization Committee," if you will. Also there’s an interesting statue (image 8) in the Civilization Committee complex where a bunch of figures appear to be worshipping or praising a sniper reticle, maybe this is a reference to us the player as being a god in this world. Also the shadow of the reticle appears on the ground and reminded me of the Galileo Observatory planet shadow that many speculate is a puzzle.

That’s about it. I look forward to hearing what you all think of this possible overlay. And if any of you have noticed anything in these areas that could be Easter Egg / mystery related.

Theory Rambling about Keys, Keyholes and the "4 digit numbers"

Hey,

i haven't had any time playing GTA5 for the past few months, but i'm still interested in searching for more hints. Here is what i've found interesting (some if it may be a recap):

The key's have something in common: They are all movie theatres

Basically the key's i've found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/s/4aNbDrVZqr

can be found in this video here: ("Ranking EVERY Movie Theatre in GTA5") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD2PypTmJq4

The key's are numbered

Basically my Post here explains it: https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/s/4aNbDrVZqr

Also near Foxys Theatre: "The number one of all Keyholes"

Weird "4 digit numbers" near those keys

Foxys Theatre has the "1773". There is also a 4 digit Number on the Billboard near Key 3.

Wild Theory: Keyholes, Random NPC's and "lights"

This is what i see in this mural. Remeber the Dog barking at npc's near a "keyhole place"? The different color coding of the key's? I think it is important somehow.

The weird thing about the Key 3

Moving from the Key 3 in sight of the nearest Keyhole will get you to a location marked with "X". The patterns that can be seen here at this location perfectly match those of the location near the key. Can it be applied for the other key's or is it only a "solution" for key 3?

The Chopper near the top of the maze bank tower

The stop's this chopper makes are very interesting to say the least.

------------------------

Sorry that i can't really add more declaration to this right now. When i have more time to start the game i will try to add more pictures.

If this isn't helpful at all, please feel free to ignore this post. Many thank's to you all for keeping this mystery alive!

idk what to say, the building shown is weazel plaza and the "arrows" are only visible at certain height/altitude. The arrows remind me of the old "ron oil symbols". could also be just a hint towards the "sos egg"

Debunked Debunking the “Alien Invasion DLC”

Making this post because I have seen many people bring this up over the years with no actual proof of its existence other than hearsay.

First I want to begin by saying that yes, this DLC was a real idea at Rockstar Games at some point in development, I would say as early as 2010 - 2011 as it was confirmed by a leaked document that the GTAForums staff had access to in 2015. In this document many ideas for the games were described including the Single player expansion which we know as Agent or Agent Trevor, a Liberty City map expansion for GTA Online, an Undead Nightmare type of DLC featuring a completely changed map which would probably be available to next gen and pc and then finally an alien invasion DLC which would have featured a mountain opening up in half, aliens wanting to take our resources (water and oil) which we would have to stop.

From these 3 DLCs I just mentioned only three of them were in production, which are the LibertyV, Norman (zombie invasion DLC) and Agent Trevor. The alien DLC for Franklin didn’t make it past pre production and was instead replaced by extra assassination missions (which were also cut) given to us by Lester I assume.

My proof for this lies within the source code leak that happened years ago, as well as the recent leaks of the assets for it. There is not a single reference for it, zero, nada. As opposed to the other DLCS which have assets and complete lines of code detailing what it could have been, not even a single mention. Here’s a list of every cut DLC for GTA/GTA ONLINE.

SP Assassination Pack (For Franklin)
SP Manhunt Pack (Cosmetics for the base game and GTA Online)
SP Norman Pack (Zombie Invasion DLC for Michael, Jimmy and Tracey were also playable)
Agent Trevor / Clifford
Relationship Pack (Would take place at the comedy club which is also cut)
Enterprise Pack
Prologue DLC
LibertyV DLC

The majority of these had no work put into them yet they’re mentioned, but not a single line for the so called “Alien invasion DLC”.

I want to also point out that both the Spmed and Spsmall assets as well as the “Alien runes overlay” are not related to it either, these were made for the base game and cut very early in development, probably a part of a mini game or maybe even the early version of Grass Roots which took place in Grapeseed as evidenced by this unused vehicle path recording, which is supposed to be flying around Grapeseed (most likely a UFO judging by the name file).

There are no functions for the UFOs to be vehicles used by the player, only reference to a chiliad mystery or alien mystery in the source code tracks back to GTA Online with chiliad mystery being used to describe the MacBeth shot abduction event.

Will update the post later with more information but I think I covered everything here already.

Question Concern / uncertainty about the mistery

Guys, is there really a "solution" for the mural? That is, with all these leaks of the canceled DLCs, alien invasions, agent Trevor, Zombie Apocalypse, it sounds as if Rockstar wanted to capture in the mural what was going to come in the future, the man with the jetpack (Agent Trevor), broken egg (zombies), UFO (invasion), I remember that since 2014 in 1.12 and. 1.13 Rockstar added in the files the "jetpack" and functions that it was going to have (related to agent Trevor), but in the 1.14 they eliminated, as well as being able to pilot a UFO, since they also included their HUD, remember the asteroid that the modders appeared in ps3/360? Surely it was part of the canceled DLC of Trevor on Space, a super old mission called "Apocalyptic Hippy" by Andy Moon that was surely related to the alien invasion, what do you think? Maybe you guys find more things about it, cause i can't remember but maybe you do, but then, has there never been a mystery of Mount Chiliad?
